NFSGalaxy totally agree with this. If someone is complaining, that Deftones is not heavy anymore, then they should find that missing part in Loathe music.
This band is better than almost every heavy band to come out in the last ten years. Officially one of my favorites. And for a 36 year old cynic like myself, that's saying a lot. This takes me back to discovering bands like Glassjaw, Poison the Well, and Dillinger Escape Plan after nu metal had become tired and bastardized. Loathe should be way bigger than they're probably going to be. Unfortunately the industry and the heavy music scenes just aren't what they used to be. I wish them all the success in the world.
You'd be surprised. Code Orange is playing huge venues. Metal/screaming is very welcome in new music and I think the really good bands are getting more recognition then they used to.

This is that sort of album that we're all going to look back at in 20+ years and truly be able to fully soak in it's true beauty. The way it just bleeds the ability to stand the test of time and how today it foreshadows the undeniable coming of new things for the scene. This album is going to be a masterpiece for years to come.

Ok... Obviously Deftones inspired but there are worse things to be inspired by than the mighty Deftones! Best thing to happen to heavy music in a long time!
I remember discovering this album and feeling like I had taken an enormous breath of fresh air. I immediately went online after listening to the album on Spotify to order it on vinyl, then saw that they were touring my city at the time (London) the next week, which I immediately purchased a ticket for. This was about a month before the first UK COVID lockdown came into effect, so we only really had rumors of COVID and the incoming lockdown but no real idea how bad it would get, I remember colleagues at the time saying "see you next week", ignorant to the fact that it would be months before we all saw each other face to face. That show at Omeara on Feb 15, 2020 was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. Crammed as it was, I was right at the front in the super narrow Omeara venue. It was so incredibly cathartic and full of positivity - the band, the crowd, hard to explain but it was wholesome in a way - and completely brutal. And then revisiting the album after the pandemic, after so much has happened, my mom passing away of cancer mid-pandemic and how hard it was to even make it to visit her back in my home country before she passed...this album just ages better and better and better, it was not a fluke - it really is one of those defining records for a band. The album goes through the same roller-coaster of emotions and sounds that life will take you through.
One of my favorite things to do is listen to this at night on the highway, just me, my car and loathe loud as fuck on my system. It's beautiful, thought I'd share and read everyone else's take. Even AdamLZ loves it.
