So glad Teaville didn't get abandoned. I enjoy the Fix-It series but my true love in Cities Skylines is watching YOU (and Flabaliki) build your cities. Thank you, sir. And I'm glad you had a great holiday. I had 12 days off. It was nice.
Biffa, your cargo trucks have to drive so far to sell that they can not make it back before all trucks are out and then the storage fills up. Need cargo hub of some sort so the trucks can be back at storage in no time. The only way to fix this with no hub, is to have so much storage that trucks are always coming back as trucks leave. You can do the processing buildings thing, but if you are taking in so much ore (noting that you were already full before you added the seabed mining vessel, which is the best) you will just end up having the same problem selling the processed material, HUB It!, you know you want to. Another thing to think about, if your hub is close enough, you don't have to build warehouses for the processed material, the processed material delivery trucks will just go straight to hub, warehouses are for mass production and when the hub is far away (same with your ore storage, you don't need storage if the hub is right there) if you have a warehouse and on average only use 2-5 trucks at a time, you don't need it. I would rather hub an industry area rather then provide storage for everything, too much room, also helps that traffic in the city ;) Where storage really shines is when you need that resource delivered to many different factories in your city; just food for thought.
*Bish Bash Bosh*. Now I'm being audited. No. I've decided to erase that and start over. I've found a *roundabout* way of adding to this column. It was so *chock-a-block* before. Yes, now the numbers are moving along, brilliant.
If you build an ore industry area, make only mines on the natural resources, and storages + processing keep separated. It doesnt make sense to build on your ore deposits. Same goes for other industries.
Ahh I knew this would be uploaded today, when I saw a 'private' video in the playlist! I've been trying to build along with the video, to make my first ever city, and I'm loving it!
Biffa I'd love to see your completed Teavill city sent to other city deisgners on UA-cam to see what they'd review it as. Sorta like the uni reverse card. There are some super dedicated insane designers that spend hours and hours on one little island. Would be amazing to see their additions, if any, to tvil
Hey Biffa, loving the vids as always. If I could ask a small favour? In your speed build bit (around the 33 second mark) On the roundabout you were connecting it to a main road and you got a 2 stage jump because of the height difference. You can bulldozed it and put it in again but as a nice smooth slope. I've had that happen so many times but I never worked out how to fix it, how did you do that please??
Try a "no delete" challenge for one of your city fixes. Try to fix the traffic without removing anything, just add new roads. Might be interesting and new.
I'm sure you know, but just in case: Your storage is filled up because all trucks are in use; You don't need that many warehouses for glass. Mostly, you need to monitor level of storage and truck usage, when both are maxed out, you increase storage. Unless you're going to aesthetics; Your city is suffering through a death wave, probably due to the removal of the Real Time mod, so you should try to fix that.
Hey Biffa! I just got cities skylines and was wondering about all the mods you use. So far I only have traffic manager, and I would love it if you could tell me some of the useful mods And also I don’t have trams on my transport menu. I bought the mass transit add on as well and I was wondering how to access trams. Big thanks! Edit: I found your mod list in steam
There are several zone toggling mods on the workshop. You can dezone your major avenues and you don't have to run fences everywhere. Plus it gives the streets you want zoned its full zone area instead of dividing the zones between the road and major avenues.
I was concerned about the Real Time mod when I saw that you had stopped using it. I combed through the series to find out why. Gameplay too slow, eh? Downloaded it immediately! I'm the type that spends an unhealthy amount of time just watching the city work, micromanaging, and just basking in the greatness of what I've done. So slower pace isn't a problem. The first time I saw 1000 cims flocking into the high school in the morning, I was in love with the mod. I'm making a desert city now that's very sprawled and car-centric, so I want the traffic to hit me with its best shot. I want an excuse to pull out those 12-lane El Mongo roads.
I also play Cities on console. I was excited to see a "Mods" menu option and tried to type "Traffic Manager" in the search. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered the only mods were buildings and a few cars.
I'm also getting crashes out the wazoo recently... the game is pretty much unplayable for me right now. :( No idea why that is, I don't use that many mods, all of which are the big mods everyone uses, and my asset list is small compared to what some subscribe to. Still, the game usually crashes right on loading/starting a map, the log usually indicating full memory. Maybe my coming upgrade to 32 GB RAM (from 16) will help... I just wish this game weren't so frickin' finnicky when it comes to stability...
Thanks again for a great video. You are a big inspiration. Always get new ideas when watching your work. One day I will send you my huge city which has at least 80% trafikk and ZERO roundabouts. Yes you are right. A spaghetti of underground tunnels. (but almost no one way roads though..) BUT I am from Norway and in Norway O man do we have tunnels. Oslo is like 3 levels underground with tunnels, parking garage, railway etc. So yes it's realistic for where I come from.. (They are starting to debate the safety of this network under Oslo now though. A fire in 1 tunnel could cause trouble for other tunnels above it or besides.)
Biffa - your traffic fixes helped my cities tremendously, and it looks like you have the Industry DLC down very well. Would you consider an "Industry Fixes" series, where you help fix supply chains? Example: crop storage is right next to my factory, but it doesn't use it and is thus not producing goods. Keep up the great work!
Guess who just got a big fat platinum trophy for Cities Skylines Biffa! It would have happened long ago if I hadn't turned off nightime :( I have Civ 6, Frost Punk and Farming Simulator already installed, just have to decide which next. Obviously I get to turn on the cheats on Cities now too :)
Been watching loads your vids Biffa over the last month or so, and enjoying them all, :-) and after being inspired to get the game it is amazing how much I have picked up without realising. Now I know there are Mods to do various things, like raise, lower, flatten, create land. Unlimited money. Space Elevators, etc, loads of stuff, but creating an Oil Field was a step too far for me. :-/ I know what you are doing is making a complete city and showing off a load of stuff, rather than playing a 'normal' game, but that seems a little like going beyond limitations of the map chosen. I doubt I'll ever be at a level where I consider using a mod like that. Keep up the good work though. :-)
Hey Biffa, I was curious if you (or anyone else) had a tips for my industry areas. I seem to always have an issue were factories and other building like cattle farms, complain they dont have enough supplies, but wont send out trucks. Always shows a 0/7 or 1/7. Does anyone else get this issue a lot? What can I do to fix it?
Hey guys, I thought about buying the game for a lot of time and I now decided to finally buy it. Can you tell me which official version has the most DLCs already included? The "platinum" version or maybe the "complete" edition?
Why do you waste so much time showing the same lane management every episode? This video is labeled "Make $ from Industry." Its been 10 min and you haven't placed any industry buildings.
I've found your videos both informative AND entertaining, which is nice change from most UA-cam videos that are either one or the other. Which mod are you using to fill stuff with water like that? Or is that a base-game feature I just haven't found yet?
The education thing about upgrading is not necessarily that they need more schools nearby (see the pie chart in their "needs") but that they move in uneducated and need time to go through schools and graduate. So give it some time for them to age up and graduate and they'll upgrade eventually. You can see their education level, too so that gives you an idea as well. Plus, the red buildings basically mean they're not fully educated (they move in as completely red even if a school is right next to them). Of course they always like more services regardless. :)
Paradox asked Cities Skylines players over the holidays what they wanted to see in future cities skylines dlcs or CCPs (as long as it wasn’t assets or mods) many wanted some sort of parking lot, some actual tram stations for console as well as fire and police boxes for the park areas, as well as new traffic restriction policies. Some even suggested districts for mixed residential/commercial and medium residential blocks.
7:50 i think in areas like this with pedestrians as numerous as they were you should make more use of raised foot trails over the intersections. I watched a Sam Bur vid with his city had amazing ped. and cycling infrastructure and you did go ham with it in Malibrew(i think was the series) but yeah with that many people crossing streets with junctions so close it really raises the instances of car traffic having to stop and wait
Not sure if you ever fixed the terrain tearing with those flat bridges over the railway (or the rails over the road, idr), but the way to fix that is to just use the fine road tool to upgrade the roads going over the top to elevated roads, as they're currently considered on-the-ground roads, even though the ground is technically far below them.
I love your content. I just picked up this game. I was wondering if you could recommend a video for new players on how to zone and city planning at all?
Biffa has activated Unlock everything I see and is cheating for more ore. Trying to sneak that in without us noticing? I don't think so. But cargo trains can get overly busy, you really should have only one for export and all the others should be disconneted from the outside network, because that clogs up really really good.
If he didn't want us to know, he would edit it out of the video. His aim is to be entertaining and I don't think he's done anything to take away from that.
FENCES!!! YUUUSSSSS!!!!!! You can also promote walking by connecting the residential road tip to the main road with a path and have a break in the fence 😊 I wish I could live in Teaville, it looks so beautiful there!!
Biffa, I think you could really benefit from this: www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/cfttql/industries_dlc_optimal_ratio_of_extraction_to/ It has the building production ratios for each industry to make exactly what you need for unique factories
You should try to play workers and resources: Soviet Republic. An amazing city building game with a lot of micro management. It's not a finished game tho

It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen Teaville. I’ve been missing it. I enjoy when you play your cities
Little tax tip Biff, Tea is not a medical expense. Despite it's life saving properties the IRS won't accept it as a medical need.

Don't call them 'roundabouts' they're all just traffic tea stains
Biffa talking about tax returns while an H&R Block commercials appears on my tv.
Hey! Cheers from Argentina!! Love your channel. BTW it must be so frustrating when it crashes. Is it the hardware or the mods doing it?
U can turn off realistic citizen education option in the real time mod. That should stop any effects on growth speed while also keeping the traffic
im interested now, why is your game crashing a few times now? it never used to crash before??
No idea ☹️

It's my understanding, that roughly speaking, you need x2 ore grinding - 1 rotary kiln for metal and x2 glass plants for 1 fiberglass plant for glass.
