➤Cities Skylines Industries:
In one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history, Industry becomes a larger and more meaningful part of the game with this expansion. Players can customize their industrial areas with supply chains for the four different resource types and unique factories. Well managed industry areas will level up and become more efficient. Aside from production chains, there is a new city service for handling mail and the cargo airport eases import and export of factory goods. There are FIVE new maps, new policies, new city services, new buildings (including resource extractors, manufacturers, warehouses and unique factories) and more.
Key Features:
- MAKE IT HAPPEN
Follow your products from harvesting to processing, storage and production, then transport them to commercial zones or export to other cities.
- CAPTAIN YOUR OWN INDUSTRIES
Define an area with the industry area tool and place highly specialized industrial buildings to build and manage the production chain from raw material extraction up to final end product. Industry Areas are divided into four types based on the natural resource they are processing: Farming, Forest, Ore and Oil. These areas can level up upon reaching productions goals and staffing requirements.
- BUILD IT UP, BUTTERCUP
New industrial buildings include Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings, Industrial Props and Roads. Unique Factories, such as Food, Toy, Furniture, Car and Electronics produce luxury products, and require a large number of workers, water and electricity as well as input from your industries.
- GO POSTAL
Boost your citizens’ well-being with mail delivery and collection services. Post sorting facilities handle mail between outside connections and the post offices, and new Post Van and Truck vehicles enable the carriage.
- WONK HARD

Just a note to that buildings color indicators subject in Info views - according to TMPE wiki:
- Traffic info view - red building indicates that cims have hard time to find parking space. They try to find place to park for several times and if unsuccessful, they give up and go home. So solution is more parking lots around. (This indication is available only when Parking AI feature is "on")
- Public transport info view - there are two modes: incoming demand and outgoing demand which you can toggle between. Incoming demand indicates which buildings are hard to reach by public transport. Outgoing demand indicates that cims leaving the building were struggling to reach their destination via public transport. (Again - both available only with Parking AI feature is "on")
- And just for completion - when Real Time mod is played, Trafic Routes Info View is enhanced too... that Red buildings indicate that journey times are taking too long, and in some cases it will cause cims to abandon their journey and return home.
Btw. I really like your videos! I've found them just few weeks ago but then I watched almost everything :D I love how you are able to keep your cities nice and clean styled all the time regardless their expansion - that is something I am not able to on in my cities - I always end up with a city jungle :D Looking forward to more of your videos!
Thanks for the fantastic info, will certainly be looking at that in more detail 👍😁
@@fort_quake awesome input, karen
Certainly good to know that, thanks for the summary.
A challenge for you sir. Take the irl map of Montreal, Canada (with all its roads/metros/bus lines) and fix the traffic...... Please, the traffic here is horrendous, and I'm mostly on my bicycle! And its bad for me!
What mod is best for parking lots? Those are not, AFAIK, something actually in the game without a mod.
ACK! Your game crashed and the school area didn't keep the bus stop and the path! @13:21 .... BIFFA! :-p
Upvoted
I was checking all comments to find exactly this ^^ No Biffa, game crashed, no bus stop and no pedestrian way...
Thanks 👍
Near your farm industry area, there are load of pedestrians crossing on the roads of the Oval-a-bout, slowing traffic. A foot bridge (and park toll booths) would be great there!!
A path to the passenger train station would be great!!
It's an oblongabout
13:24 it looks like that little path you made is not there anymore, maybe it got lost in the crash? Maybe it's working after all lol
I'm strangely really invested in the progress of this city. I think it would be cool to build some more rural towns up in the countrysides, and the mountainside golf course is a great idea!
Imagine the farms if they didn't import 75% of crops. Maybe swap some buildings for crops.
I was just thinking that. The farm area is really small for the crop production they need. Maybe put in a huge wheat field out in the country!!
I did try that bfore but for some reason i didn't know they're still import and export a lot more , it baffle me why not iust use our own town production people
It looks like boosting the industry capacity increased the demand for residential.
Always.
More places for work, more people to live near the workplaces... Proper PubTransport like buses, metros, trams, or trains would help big time.
The oil area should be named "roiltea"
I love watching you build on TeaVille and can really hear the excitement in your voice. I look forward to your future videos on this series, thanks for sharing!
A few videos back you asked for ideas for expanding the map as you buy up more tiles. I think it would be neat to see small towns built up around either specific industries or unique factories. Or perhaps have industry towns connected by a domestic rail line to ship goods from across the map to the factory zone you've got set up now.
20:44 Looks like you have some trees growing right in the middle of your baseball diamond and the other sports playing surface.
Really appreciate this series, keep 'em coming! :D
Saying that ship being beamed up to the Starship Interprise made me laugh. Don't do that Biffa! I just had hernia surgery. 🤕😉
Hello Biffa, I am rather old and i have played Sim City from 1989. I found your Channel by random, so now i am started again with City building.
Love to listen to your voice and your tips.
Keep it up :)
I never play this game but watching is you play is pleasing
Thanks 👍😁
Biffa, with the money making industry. What is impressive to me is that you are doing so well and you population isnt all that much. I'm telling you, you have a talent, lol. Keep it up, I look forward to every episode. Please though, take all the necessary natural medicine to get yourself better. We need you at your best.
Thanks 👍😁
Brilliant work, once again.
I am always eager to sit with my cup of tea and relax for a bit watching this beautiful city grow!
Based on this I think I need to add Industries to my collection. Really nicely done Biffa!
It's crazy how easy it is to make money with that DLC.
That is just stellar. Neat to see a creative style city built with growth in mind. Traffic is amazing because you have built it that way. Damn fine
Anytime there is a new Biffa video up, I want to go and play Cities myself, but then I realize I enjoy watching TeaVille much more than building on my own!
Excited to see what traffic will be after putting in walking paths 👍
I love the Teaville episodes! It's beautiful and so much fun to watch grow! Honestly, I can take or leave city fix at this point. My one suggestion is letting your public transport routes continue longer so your cims don't have to transfer (ex. Make the ferry to the islands one longer route.) Thanks for the clarification on the industry ranking. This makes so much more sense now.
As soon as you mentioned the name of the Modular House Factory at 26:54, I immediately got the reference and it made my day.
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.
That deathwave was because of having two cemeteries emptying and therefore lacking in service capacity.
🤔
One thing I think you are doing wrong is putting the Animal Pastures on top of Fertile Land. Fertile land is for growing crops. You can put Animal Pasture anywhere so long as it is zoned as part of the Farm.
Exactly! Wasting fertile crop land for animal poop. LOL
It would be cool if the animal areas made fertile soil over time. Great way to make an area fertile is to fertilise it. lol
Awesome! Been watching your vids for a while. And learned some great tips. Thanks 😎👍
I've just hit 40k in my first city, and I was wondering when I'll start being able to make a nicer looking city. Then I come to work and load up this video "So we've just hit 40k in Teaville" and suddenly I feel like I've gone wrong in my city 😂😂
You will get sorted mate. Full confidence in ya
I feel your pain. I just reached 100k I feel like my city is so unorganized and mushed together lol
@@johnthelesserofthethirdoft863 Cheers man, might need a restart in a different city to sort out my layout but for my first time playing, I'd say I'm doing pretty well!
@@Eris1823 God I can't even imagine what mine would be like at 100k!
It's like making anything else; just takes practice. Maybe try starting a few different cities on the same map and see how many different ways you can lay things out.
I love this series Biffa, keep up the great work!
It's a nice city working great. You can expand to the other unused parts of the map and make a lot of little residential villages all around the map :)
Also great explanation on how you grow the industries!
Biffa video and I was out of tea, so before watching a quick trip to the store to get more ^^
Great that you've got your money sorted now! Maybe you can go round and finish a few other parts of your city before the next expansion? Earl Grey Islands aren't finished off, the Olympic Village had got lots of empty space, etc. Perhaps you could go from district to district upgrading them to 5 stars as well? Would be cool to see you maxing out everything you've got before moving on to a new area!! Another thing with Earl Grey island... recycling policy and all that other 'Green' stuff? Love the series, keep it coming!!
Oh and also those Tolls you put in many moons ago are probably getting bypassed by a bunch of peeps, maybe stick some more in?
Oh hell yes Biffa! Happy Friday!
Just bought the game now everytime I make roads I make sure that guy goes there, he goes there, you go straight through, make a round about and lane mathematics. Thanks biffa
Biffa, regarding oil extracting. do not put extractor right next to each other, specially large ones. They will drain all the oil in the immediate area really fast. and then you'll have to move them. Oil is actually a finite resource in the game.
I built a huge oil industry area and spend about a million in structures then within a couple of years it was all dead because i ran out fo resources.
I have infinite resources turned on, always do 👍
Interesting network on the industry. I tend to build out the areas like production lines, going from raw producer to processor to special factory, all in a row.
Another awesome video with a nice spot of tea
Industries early, smart traffic and you can build anything you want after that, no one needs infinite money. Nice demonstration!
Are you going to build all 3 campuses? Their faculties give 9 different city-wide bonuses
Really nice! May I suggest you get more things to clean the water? You can clearly see the difference between what's pumped out and what's in the river.
I have been able to get 75 to 85% traffic with my Xbox version with no traffic manager with 100,000 citizens. Your suggestions totally helped. Thanks!
Nice 👍😁
Love to see the TeaVille series. Keep goin' ;)
That small clump of islands just off the coast opposite the shipbuilding place looks like it almost spells the word Tea. Maybe that's a place you could terraform slightly and make it some sort of park or nature reserve?
Great stuff Biffa!!!!
Happy too see you used Yorkshire tea 8)
Nice city Biff look's good.
Great video, I’m just getting into the road mods and I have a good economy for my first city (10,000) for 8,000 people but the traffic is weird and I need some help and a few tips if possible. Keep up the great city construction! 👍
Keep in mind: this is my first city so yeah
This is what I found it about parking space available not difficulty getting to
The traffic info view (click on the button) can assist you in building the right amount of parking lots/garages. It shows where additional parking spaces are required (buildings with high parking space demand are highlighted with red color).
👍
If I didn't know better, I'd accuse Biffa of using clickbait titles but then I watch the video and sure enough, millions with no traffic. Amazing
Biffa, what's wrong with "Here we grow"? 😆
😋
Hugrow there.
Hope you are on the mend from your illness! I've often wondered if you put a factory in a satellite small town if it would cause traffic problems, maybe an idea for a future video? Near here there is a Toyota car plant that is adjacent to the highway, but keeps a small town in work, so that's where I got the idea.
Big Business do that cause of cheap land and taxes and not for the benefit of the people.
Hey Biffa, I think it would be a cool idea to make use of the river going through your city to transport people and cargo. For example, a ferry line between Earl Grey Isle and your sports area
With this video you helped me with money situation. Thank you❤
You're welcome 👍😁👍
I think for the shipyard it would be cool to combine it with the cargo and warehouses on a large artificial concrete pad jutting out into the water ! maybe even a couple factories, it would be a really good look in my opinion, even have space for all the special factories and have all the specialist warehouses, cargo etc all in one specialised zone ?
To keep traffic down in industries make nodes for each production. So on one road you might need 2-3 resources built, then processing, then maybe a large plant. Do not put in any storage and make sure there is good access to a railroad depot for exporting.
It also seems that these refined resources are not used as much for stocking your merchants so add some small generic farms, lumbering, oil, and industry in for that.
16:40 Check your import ratios in the industry. I think you are e.g. importing a lot of crops to feed the cattle which is costly.
👍
Does it really matter when he makes 110k per tick?
Random comment to ask this on, but any idea which DLC this is?
@@AverageAtBestHDTB Industries
Great vid as usual Biffa. Keep up the good work. :-) Not sure that canal is going to work without more fiddling, or taking a cut off from the river upstream to feed it. ;-)
A few questions for you, or anyone else who can answer. Every time I try to do a path, it connects to a road. Is there a special path or mod that needs to be downloaded?
How or where do you get the Nursing Homes from, from a specific DLC or has someone made it?
This video made industry seem way more complicated than it is. Didn't know it was such a struggle. Getting 5 stars is easy rather quickly and once you get those you never have to worry about money again.
Cant..stop..watching..BIFFA!
That death wave was because you had some people just dying for tea! Good thing you got your industry production sorted! Took care of that issue.
14:40
Look at the 5-way roundabout. Follow that road towards Briarwood Park. That bridge next to the rail line is STILL flooded.
When you're so early to the video that you have to save it to your Watch Later list on your phone in order to watch it on the computer.
👍
Trees in the infield. Amazing that your baseball stadium can work with all those trees. Same for the track and field stadium.
😂
Baaaaad Biffa, Sheep need Sneakers too.
I learn so much!
I love this series. Any chance of updating the mod / asset lists when you get a chance? I know things have come and gone (Realtime gone, TM:PE updated) so I'm curious.
If you have a clothing factory you could name it Tea Shirt Factory
I just wish I could have this flourishing city as you have!
Hey Biffa,
nice and interesting episode! I‘ve learned so much about the traffic and the functions of Cities Skylines. Thank you for that! But one thing I really wanted to know, which Mods or Assats do you use for the Car-Parks?
Thank you and greetings from Germany (I am so sad, that you are leaving 😭)
Lou
Parking Lots 👍
i havent watched the full video yet but i would imagine that the red building could also signify a high traffic building, not necessarily one thats hard to get to. Like how some roads will glow red if they're high traffic but not clogged, i would think that a high traffic building (like a school for instance) would be red without being hard to get to per say. And if i had to hazard a guess it judges that based on the amount of people that are currently in route to the building at any given time and/or how long they've been in route.
had this on my playlist to watch... fell asleep.
Couldn't understand why I dreamt of sheep eating my halloween Snickers bars.
You should put some car parks for each industrial aera.
Also remember that you kept prospect district(near the forestry) on schools out policy
Biffa I would love to see you make a golf course in the mountains ;)
So jealous! Im playing Vanilla with no DLC. And I just can't get my traffic moving smoothly. A lot of your tips and hints on lane mathematics and roundabouts has really helped. But I think my problem is layout.
Near Earl & Greys you have road that doesn't allow you to turn right, instead cars need to go ahead (it's a dead end road with bus lane) , turn araund and go left ;)
Make sure to check out the rebind mod if you have not yet. Re-balances the industry truck and worker counts to help with traffic and overall goods flow, especially as your industries get bigger.
3:31 when you have a stagnation of workers and you keep adding structures that only get like 11 people working them, i took out the commercial, residential, and industry basics spots and let the game run. the game will re-orient the people to those job spaces that need to be filled. it's slow, but it'll happen over time.
Teaville videos are the best videos 👍
Thankyou 😁
Hey Biffa, i noticed u had a cold this time last year aswell... this year right brfore covid aswell??
p.s love the game and ur vids, great tips and tricks even for us console players, im on xbox have a great city, 9 tiles, population 210k, happiness 97% and traffic at 86%. no mods as xbox version is a bit more basic but still great, my p.c just wouldnt cope witht this game lol :)
Well planned as far as your unique buildings
First, Thank you so much for making these video, I learned so Much from them. 2nd: I actually like industries and created a huge industry area that actually work. Internal highways and stuff. :) Traffic is enormous but it all flows nicely at least most of the time. Average trafic flow 85% @ 75k ppl. My first real city. Or should I say industry with some city. ;)
Wanna see it (industry part) ? not much idea given to design yet and it's not "complete" but it works really well I Think. :)
And, OH! Not a single roundabut (in industry area) ::) Maybe it can give you a perspective not yet considered.
My city of "Fracville" hit 90,000 population early this morning, completing the last milestone. Yay! :)
Now I really need to focus on my budget. My income did improve slightly after adding a cargo train depot to a very large oil area.
Thanks for another great video they always help allot. I'm having issues with factorys not getting there materials. I have plenty of storages near them all and storage at the supply areas as well. Traffic is at 80%. Rail lines near them all to move them any suggestions would be appreciated thank you
best episode from any uploader i ever seen
I saw that your factories were importing raw goods. If you just increase the production of raw materials, then it might just lower your expenses
"Sneaker ridge" is a really good company name
"Sheeping out your snickers" XD
Thanks for the video
every like is another sip of tea for him, I don't know how he manages to take 3K sips an episode.
Hey Biffa, if you remember please put #teaville in the title of teaville videos. I don't always watch every video, but I want to make sure I catch teaville ones. I know you usually do but this one slipped, and who knows how many others!!! lol jkjk. Thanks and great series!
So now that the area you've been building in is running good. You should start another city on another part of the map. So you would have something like London and Cambridge. Separate, can rock and roll independently but be on the same map.
Industries can make a fair bit of money, as you can see. Previously the most I ever had was maybe $12M in the bank. My current city (first with Industries fully used) has over $200M in the bank.
14:45 Still have trees through your stadiums.
This city looks awesome
An observation about your farm: you have high maintenance costs due to low crops production as you're having to import crops. More crops buildings will lower the upkeep.
you should try plant some trees, decorations and assets in your areas, it really helps with the look!
Its quite hot in your city ! :D
i think the reason why those buildings are red, are because they have potential for large volumes of traffic. so like stadiums have A LOT of peeps in them, so if you don't have ideal city transports it makes A TON of traffic, and so forth.
Nice video! Cool, by to way what happens if copy factorys whit move it ? .. I mean in long term, is game too confused
I love watching these vids in 4K
@22:55 I'm surprised that TM:PE lane arrow changer merges straight and left together, while giving right the dedicated turning lane, in situations where there aren't enough lanes to give each direction a dedicated lane. It would be a lot more efficient to merge right and straight together in those situations, and give left the dedicated lane, since left turners are more likely to have to stop for oncoming traffic
Game crash, sippa tea...
I've been playing one of the vanilla maps with resources (and thus, industries) spread out super far. I've found that having a centrally located warehouse park with all 8 different types of industry products does wonders for keeping unique factories stocked and running. Teaville is fortunate that 3 of 4 industries are right next to each other.
Also, I don't know if its the mods or the game, but C:S is a voracious memory hog. I was having crashing issues when I didn't give it enough virtual memory, and that's on top of maxing my 16 GB of ram.
Biffa, I think one of the junction by the sneaker factory got messed up. It doesn't go straight anymore. The one on the main road.
Also, I'm late to the party lol but had PG Oil & Gas in mind for the industry =P you know, as in PG Tips (tea) and GE Oil & Gas
Crossing fingers they might achieve a place in time where one forth of the aspects of the mods on pc...comes into play on consoles. The statement where a important business is diffucult to get to... maybe some traffic manager aspects added.
You should add some towns around the maps, and create InterCity train and bus lines.
Love the trees through the sports facilities @14:58. Feel sorry for the people trying to play baseball with trees on the infield. Or running track...
Steeplechase
