      Not higher contrast ratio than OLED, not deeper blacks than OLED, not more power efficient than OLED. I thought Burn-in and degradation for a tablet would be a thing for sure, but my Tab S2 is about 4 years old and has neither even with constant heavy use. I'd like some of that crazy LED brightness though.

    2.5k dimming zones still has blooming.. could have been 5.5million zones if it was an oled since its pixel level..... oled still has benifits such as instant response time and slightly better viewing angles then ips... also even with the local dimming and dual lcd layer (monochrome), its still an ips panel so the poor native contrast ratio will show up in certain instances...

    • @Raja995mh33
      @Raja995mh33 3 роки тому +3

      Except MiniLED has better viewing angles than OLED. OLED loses a lot of brightness and even color when shifted. MiniLED pretty much stays the same on the iPad.
      And the biggest point is that the iPad Pro is often used for drawing and designing where accurate colors are necessary. The problem with OLED is tho that it needs to be recalibrated every other year or even after just a few months. On a phone that's not an issue. On a drawing machine? It is.

    • @CondoreComputing
      @CondoreComputing 3 роки тому

      The control circuitry to control 10K LED's separately would be a lot more difficult / expensive to implement. They would have to have a much more complex backlight controller, way more traces going to the backlight array etc. Probably would have doubled the already higher cost of the screen.

    • @CondoreComputing
      @CondoreComputing 3 роки тому

      No, that's one of the reasons it has a bigger battery. Mainly with HDR content the screen puts out much more light. And that takes more power. You potentially get some power savings IF you have the brightness down very far, and have mainly black on the screen, but in reality this will be weighed out by the overall higher brightness with watching video's or doing other things that keeps the brightness up. Local diming doesnt turn the LED's off completely on a black screen, only dims them. If they turned them off entirely it would make blooming even worse.
      People seem to be confusing the benefits of mini LED with OLED or Micro LED.

    You should replace the thermal paste with liquid metal

      First, M1 doesn’t need that and second, liquid metal might damage whole board by shortcircuiting. Plus it degrades to some friggin mess.
      Avoid liquid metal. While it sounds cool, it’s not awesome. And M1 is no overheating Intel.

    No shot of the entire internals of the iPad with the plastic covers removed? I can’t tell exactly where the M1 is and I’m trying to figure that out so I don’t put iron sheets (for magnets) directly over it. 😬
