- Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield says she is “not surprised” Prince Harry will not meet King Charles on his return to the UK.
“2024 has not been a good year for the British Royal Family and Harry is a tsunami of hurt, pain and chaos.”
Prince Harry will not be seeing his father King Charles during his current visit to Britain as the monarch will be too busy, Harry's spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Harry, 39, has returned to Britain to attend a number of events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, the international sporting event that he founded for military personnel wounded in action.
The younger son of King Charles has only been back in Britain on a few occasions since he and his American wife Meghan stepped down from official royal roles in 2020 and moved to Los Angeles where they live with their two young children.
They have since become estranged from the rest of the royal family and Harry is said to be barely on speaking terms with his elder brother, heir to the throne Prince William.

I looked at their calendar....they are gone several days each month since January.

If he looked back to how his grandmother and great aunt were brought up he would be even more critical, but those times were more different again - positively Victorian - but parenting, the expectations of children, and the expectations of the public were on another plain that seems incomprehensible and beyond the imagination of the young nowadays. Unfortunately, they seem to be fighting to be what they said they no longer wished to be and have, i.e., be royal with all the privileges that brings. At some subconscious level, I think they realise what they have thrown away, and are seeking to regain it, but they would never (be able to) articulate that.
I think there must be a level of cognitive dissonance, at least for Harry, and specifically dissonance due to inconsistency between attitude: I'm not special, just call me Harry, give us privacy; and behaviour: demanding titles for his children, demanding privacy from the press, demanding IPP status, etc. Time will tell.
I don't think the Invictus Games are "Pure." H and M get fancy rooms and food, get the limelight, and M buys thousands of dollars of free clothes. In other words, they are doing nothing to help the games, such as paying their own way, and letting all the money go to the participants. BTW, H and M don't have it in them to cooperate and be kind.
