I believe he's referring to the new "production framing" practice of just nailing overhangs on rake walls as apposed to running cantilevered / outrigger overhangs like you see this gentleman do here. I personally agree with @drumswest5035. @@Deerrus

Mew Subscriber! -- QUESTION -- Love this build, but what kind of lumber for framing are you using? Looks so so nice compared to what we have here in the East Coast US. What size are the wall framing lumber? Seems larger that we have and much better quality. I would display that and not cover the framing!
The wood you used to build the house is beautiful. Probably built the house 10 km from the sawmill and a huge forest that stretches as far as the eye can see 😄
I am so grateful this showed up in my notifications. What were the dimensions of each board? How many of each size board are there? Thank you, - Driss B.
If you look closely you can see there is a sill protective strip between the sill plate and the concrete slab. Commonly used in Finland and Sweden as well. Pressure treated wood used for sill plates in the 60s and 70s has been found to cause bad smell and toxic gases in the house over time when the moisture level in the sill has risen. So nowadays we use regular construction wood with sill protection between wood and concrete.
That is top notch carpentry, the only thing I'd say is get yourself a proper hammer. A 14-16 oz Titanium Stilleto with a straight timber handle and an Occidental leather tool belt. Larry Haun, R.I.P 👍💪🔨🔨🇺🇲🇮🇪
@@MrUnamazait's the normal procedure for Canadian/Finnish framing and yes, it's standard practice in Russia. Houses without bracing and without a rigid osb or other sheet-type external (under)cladding eventually lean away from the prevailing wind and lose structural integrity. My only criticism here would be the use of 100 mm board - I would use 150 and cut the notches tighter. But I'd happily work with this guy on a build project - as they say in Russia "his arms grow from the right place" (i.e. not from his ass).
nice! next time use pressure treated sill plates & cut the ridge back 1.5 on each side that way you'd have a clean miter on the facia. I'd be very happy with it! good job;
He didn't put a vapor barrier film on the roof, and he didn't put plastic waterproof insulation under the hood closing plate. Anyway, the carpentry is nice.
Please, don't use a hammer without safety glasses. You are only inches away from a nailhead that sometimes becomes a projectile with the force of the hammer's blow. Don't be stupid, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.

Can tell someone has been watching Larry Haun videos great job man!
With a hammer! Nice work.
Never seen that roofing before looks good and durable
This is a great inspiration to a cheap home I can build 😁
Thank you for this creativity, and we look forward to the new. We will follow you from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Nice to see someone who knows how to frame the roof overhangs at the gable ends properly, most framers fail here!
Can you elaborate? How do most fail? Just curious, I like reading and watching things on framing and woodwork. Thanks-

Très bien à mes yeux. Beaucoup d'astuces de construction intéressantes.
The inlet diagonals are so rarely done these days yet add so much stability.
Well done!
Whoaaa. Manual nailing. Even watch your video makes my arm sore😂
Man, you are the best

Love the video. Superbly edited. Sound is hypnotic
well done!!!
wow nice work man! is the wood pine? looks like quallity. How come you did not put any underlayment under the tin? wont condensation form

I agree. The lumber looks like it used to be here in America before a 2x6 became a 1 - 1/2" x 5 - 1/2".

What camera was this shot on? Is the footage color-graded? Looks great.
I shot a video on Fujifilm XA7+Meike 35mm f1.4
Some of the footage was shot on an iphone
what type of screw is used in attaching to the floor?
One man army that is cool
Nice job and beautiful location; where was this filmed?
I would have made ceiling vaulted. But damn that’s a nice build.
LOOKS GREAT Good job!!! Where did you get the black roofing panels from? What brand are they ? Thank you

Great effort my friend, i take my hat off to you 👍🇬🇧
Looks good, but the bottom plates should be presser treated, or ice shield under the bottom plates,if you put them on concrete !

Where can I get detailed instructions to build such a house?
Was this done in the USA, if so what State ?
Qué maderas usas para las paredes? Y que espesor de madera?2x4?

What ammount of wood is used in this construction, in cubic feet please total ammount
what size is the wood for the framing? looks bigger (and stronger) than ive seen other people use
Looks like 15 x 5cm. Or 6x2"
Apparently so. 😂
Why the need for all the cross bracing? Its built like a tank
then you dont need osb on the outside

Alone ? Who’s the guy helping with the roofing ?
I dont approve of the sandals but then again, I cant frame a house either 🤣

what size boards are used?
nice looking lumber

Because it is not necessary. 🤷

Nice build. Why didn't you use a wireless nail gun? Would have saved time 3-5x at least, it just doesn't make much sense to use a hammer these days.

You are right, the roof was not insulated against moisture or heat. A screw connection is stronger than a nail.
