Thank you Chad! As a single person with low budget, you convinced me to go with the round pool.

We’re having a tropical storm and we have a in ground pool with dark water. Will it over flow or get cloudy?

Hello, Chad. You been my guy since the first time I got an above ground pool Five years ago. You've seen me through cloudy water, green water & even red. I knew NOTHING about pools. I'm still learning. We're in NJ & have a Coleman 22ft round pool with cartridge filters. My daughter wants to get a sand filter. We would have to run tubing to the street for the outlet. What sand filter & pump is right for the Coleman 22' X 52" round (10,688 gal capacity) pool? We're clueless about this too.

Thank you Chad b/c I'm in the process of looking for one now. As I've been researching I've read something about the type of steel used and to look for which one's rust the worst. Can you give me a little more information on Doughboy. I'm looking to purchase a oval, oh & I also want to make it a little deeper. Can you talk about that? Forgive me if I missed if you've already spoken on this I'm new to your page. Thanks Gwendolyn

Is there an advantage to a round vs rectangular pool when it comes to the Sand Pump being able to keep the water clean. Water circulation?

Hi Chad. My friend does not want her pool. It is 20x30 I think. It is oval. It has a metal wall. Is it possible to take it down and put it back up at my house or is it a nightmare not worth trying? Love your videos. You are a great instructor. Thanks,Cathy from Philipsburg,PA where we have crummy dirt and lots of shale! lol

I've got a reason to consider one other... Setbacks. What are those? The distances dictated by your electrical utility provider and city where you live. How far away the pool needs to be away from your house, building and other structures in your yard or where you will be putting the pool. You may be able to put an oval where a larger round will not fit.

Hello. We just recently purchased an 18x30 oval pool. And I was wondering how much time it would take to set it all up? Thank you!

Mariah Cox A seasoned installer could install this pool in one long day once the ground is prepared.

    hey chad,
    1. On a normal day, how long should the pump for an above ground intex pool of dimensions 24 feet in diameter by 52 inches height be ran for?
    2. can I put chlorine and algaeicide at the same time in my pool?
    3. although the chlorine level is at optimum in my pool, there are small algae build up at the bottom of my pool. Any suggestions?

    • @abovegroundpros
      @abovegroundpros  9 років тому +1

I like at least 12 hours a day, especially if you are using the Intex filter system that came with the pool, if not more.
Yes, you can put chlorine and algaeicide at the same time.
Try turning you pool's return (where the water enters back into the pool through the jet) pointed at a 45 degree angle towards the floor. This will prevent the algae at the bottom. If algae is occurring at the bottom either the chlorine level is too low or the water is not being circulated towards the bottom.

HEY CHAD thanks.... normally the water is clear but when i put algaeicide the water turns light green and then greener, cloudy, especially when I put it on chlorine days.. I will try filtering for 12hrs now.

I have a 10 year old 15x28 oval above ground pool. I noticed at the bottom of the wall, on the round ends, some buckling. I wish I could send you a pic to show you but a salesman said it is dangerous and needs to be drained and replaced ASAP. Its been like this for aprox. 2 seasons already.

Do yourself a favor and buy a round one if you don't have an installer. It's much easier. BTDT and I'd buy a round one next time just for the installation.
