I'm 65 years old and I've seen 'em all. Saw this Tool tour at Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheater on a beautiful summer night. My mind was shattered, have never seen a better band if one likes the dark side and I certainly do. Highlight was Pushit late into the set and I wasn't even tripping
I’m 49 now. I saw these guys in 1996 about a month after Anima Came out. It was the first time in my life that I had anything Close to what could be considered a religious experience
I am 59 years old love alice soundgarden etc how the hell have l missed tool all these years this record in peculiar having heard it once was enough top band love the new album class
Bands are lauded for staying true to their albums in concert. Tool takes their songs to another level live. I begrudgingly appreciate youtube for providing a platform for filmers to show full concerts online.
I am so grateful to someone filmed this and I can see his performance at 90's. I haven't been born yet in '97, everybody so lucky to see their concert live at this time! I really feel the catharsis of their music.
I've watched this so many times now that I can almost play both songs, and it's my first result when searching on youtube for "tool" 🔥🔥🔥 rock on people
Maynard's little vocal tweeks, runs! Supposed to see them in Montreal in 96, this makes missing it so much more painful. I'll be back for this again many times! Thanks for posting.
Well the Montreal show from 96 was posted on UA-cam So if you wanna see what you missed here it is: ua-cam.com/video/SDC9govWuFI/v-deo.htmlsi=8wyi2Y2-1_juylbO
This is tool in it's prime while performing live. From what I've seen onlkne they don't play nearly as passionate love today as they did 20 years ago. I probably can't blame them, I might feel the same after performing the same trick over and over for decades. Anyway, on going to go see them in June of this year. I'm anticipating premium sound and hope the show will be great!
@Bitcoin Master yeah, i was wrong. Being there in person at a concert completely turned my opinion around. These guys are so passionate. Now I can't get enough of their life footage.
Start from the beginning...listen and experience thier progression...you came at the perfect time ..Aug 30 new albulm..i have been a long time tool fan and WE have waited for a long time for new material...if you like Maynard check out A perfect circle Pusicfer
I wonder about that sometimes. They started out like they didn't want to sell any records at all. Like let's make the most difficult uncomfortable, awkward, painful, traumatizing shit ever heard together & call it undertow. And it's a f@#%ing masterpiece. The entire album is a magnificent, sonic, and spiritual defiant middle finger to everyone. Then you get to move onto Aenima. I'm always so excited to see new fans. They got a long road ahead of them.
Seen them in Nashville back in January. Blew my mind so much I bought tickets to the Wichita show. Bummed the rest of the tour was cancelled. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer and we can have these experiences again. Never really got into their music until my brother asked if I wanted to go, he had an extra ticket. He lives out of state and we hardly see each other so I went just to hang out with him. Now, we are closer than we’ve ever been all thanks to Tool👏🏼🤘🏼
The body's that don't like, the ones that cant expand or who truly know whats blowing up in their earphones. Sad, u missed on such a Premier group. TOOL
Seen them second stage 1993 lollapalooza. Barrie ontario. They blew my mind. We could hete them from main stage and went who the fuck is this. The rest is TOOL
Not to me. Music is subjective. Maynards or tools take on the meaning of the song isn't what it means for me. I do however understand Carl Jung texts well.
Tripper Harrison 3 bands in a similar vein that completely destroys Led Zeppelin from the same area are; Granicus, Three Man Army and Leafhound. If you don’t know about them maybe your horizon will be broaden even further if you dive in to their universe?
Blue Maynard is one of my fav Maynard’s
He'd fit in well with the blue man group
Smurfy Maynard😂😂😂😂
Same
@@stoneshitcrayz4867 he would

I love that Tool never rushes a song. I hate when bands play a song faster live
They speed up schism live...but thats about it.
Same here. Except for thrash metal bands. I love it when they go crazy fast live.
It kinda helps to stay in time when they use delay effects, but it’s for sure impressive when they don’t use delay effects.
this is true unless its death metal. you'd think they can't play it faster but they do and its fucking amazing.
Focus - Hocus Pokus
song: 7min
live: 4min
literally speedrunning tracks lol

rock on brother, we may be old(er) but we aint dead!
Great music is great music, and truth is truth. 🤘
What have you been listening to before going to Tool concerts?
One of my all-time life dreams is to see Tool live at Red Rocks . Never been to Colorado. That is so cool. Good for you.
kudos dave..i'm 55 ...spended man
Imagine seeing TOOL live in 2019 and Maynard busts out a "spinny move" or a "gremlin run"...
that jambi shit he used to pull before the hip replacement was great
@@norseca542 He pulled some Jambi shit tonight in Detroit and gargoyle crouched! He had a good surgeon!
Best song ever
For 1997 this video is a fricking masterpiece!
MGordonuchi
Too bad they sounded awful in ‘97, though. Odd, since ‘96 and especially‘98 were so on-point. ‘95, too.
What a moment it must have been seeing Maynard belting out stinkfist without the use of a megaphone....
I’m 49 now.
I saw these guys in 1996 about a month after Anima Came out. It was the first time in my life that I had anything Close to what could be considered a religious experience
Can you explain what you experienced? I think there is so much depth and stuff behind tool
This is the best thing I've seen all year.
It's sad that a video this great only has 292 views.
@Bitcoin Master 57k
Deserve so many more likes. ❤️❤️❤️
Not now son
don't you worry guys
i've been watching this everytime i got dumped in 2020
it's gone up at least 30k since i started

The only thing that matters is you're here now. Enjoy the ride!
I like these old vid's where his voice is louder than the music! Nowadays you can hardly hear him sing
Their style of live mixing has changed over the last 14 years. I see what you mean though.
Bands are lauded for staying true to their albums in concert. Tool takes their songs to another level live. I begrudgingly appreciate youtube for providing a platform for filmers to show full concerts online.
I absolutely cherish finding videos such as this...TOOL provides. The audio quality here is fantastic.
When I first heard tool in 2019 I didn't realize they were an older band... This was filmed when I was less than a month old lol
Their best performance of these two songs. Hands down.
I am so grateful to someone filmed this and I can see his performance at 90's. I haven't been born yet in '97, everybody so lucky to see their concert live at this time! I really feel the catharsis of their music.
Anyone notice how his voice was incredibly balanced and emotional and how many shades does He have to keep the melody into it ?
This is definitely the direct output of the mix deck vocals and instruments, thank you God!
gives me shivers everytime...even as I sit here at my desk at work. I can't wait to go see them again Oct 20, 2019 in LA.
2 days! Enjoy and be safe.
46 and 2 Tool And Judith (APC )are my favorite songs of Maynards❤️❤️❤️
I'm a hooker and prison sex fan love all the others also
Saw you guys in 93 in Lollapalooza at Molson Park Barrie. And again 2006 Pontiac Michigan at the silverdome. Over due now
As a pseudo fan in 1997 these videos made them so much more enigmatic. So amazing, I wasn't developed enough back then for this!
WTF down voted this?
The sound is incredible! Great upload hunt! Keep em coming :)

Til I feel something!
Magnífico!!!!
Awesome drum sound!
Whoever recorded this knew their shit ;)
3:24 I think Childish Gambino was trying to copy him
Everybody tries to be Maynard, it's a fact
Ritual Magick and voodoo are not that far apart.
Black Pullet As in they are both bullshit made up to control the weak of mind and spirit?
that would be christianity or any other abrahamic filth religion that keeps the slaves subdued.
Black Pullet True tool fans know you are both wrong.
One of the greatest live performances ever and this fukin guy was watching Adam Jones playing with his eyes closed
Wow, the audio is amazing for this! Soundboard?
yea.. it's clipping a little..
But someone out there thought to plug in and record. And for that! we thank you :)
3:23 may be the greatest rock dance in music history
Thanks for sharing this. Awesome sauce and mega points! 🔥🤘😎🍄🚀👽
Love the way Maynard dances. Is this the same concert where he puts the van in a choke hold with the cord from his mic.
If you can’t get enough of this... come sit with me. 🤘🤘
omg this is so epic. so different energry than today's tool (todays tool kicks ass too, of course)
Gorgeous concert performance as well as an epic ending.

12:14-12:15 “ Coming out the other side” - with shaking head🌪️
There's a recording of the exact same concert, and they capture Maynard more. He dances a little more than shown lol

I’m a new tool fan. What songs should I listen to?
All of them...
Start with 10,000 Days... then it doesn't matter... pick an album...
Vicarious/the pot/ schism of course and sober

Lateralus , the pot, jambi , 10,000 days full album
I am so glad Paul left and Justin came onboard.
There should just be a DVD called 'huntingtonst'.
Saw them second stage 1993 lollapalooza barrie ontario
I love the sound of Stinkfist done like this . Not a fan of singing through the bullhorn .
Tool rocks it 🤘
How is it that I just figured out that on 46&2 the guitar is the main vocal? smh wow...go me
They RULE
If this was new Jersey I was there tripping balls, completely sober
The blue Maynard is amazing
He looked a lot like Edward Norton from American history X up there
Good call!!!
Except he's painted entirely blue
This is so fucking incredible.
Who always thought Blue Man Group owed MJK a bunch of props and cash?
You think these guys know they are the best thats ever been ?

@11:30.. 10,000 would be drummers quit playing that day, and their bass drum is now a coffee table in the garage and reeks of spilt beers.
Wow
Where do you guys get all the live performances from?
There a creature in the forest. For one small child to eat it will trade one old tool video. Worth it IMO. World is over populated.

Paul on bass?
Nah. Paul was out at this point. I think 1994 was the last time he played live
