I lost my father a couple years ago. I’ve seen Tool in concert 6 times. While they are always amazing, I want to hear Jimmy and 10,000 days. Maynard’s songs about his mother are beautiful and under appreciated
You can tell it's 1996 and the year the song was released. There is absolutely no emotion from the crowd for the intro. I can only imagine that intro in 2016 ... the crowd would be going nuts.
Still today its such an underatted song, its better than sober imo, so much tension, darkness, blended with intense emotion and beauty, yep thats how i describe this song, the whole Aenima album actualy.
@@frook7130 Asked a friend to listen to Ænima for the first time recently, and when asked what songs stood out the most, he said "Jimmy". I was so proud.
Daaam...that was killer...introducing new bassist Justin Chancellor...and Maynard doing a great vocal for Jimmy because it is the darkest TOOL song to date...in my book at least...
Why does Maynard always wanna make me cry with his personal stories?!?! I've never had a lyricist draw emotion out of me as MJK does every fucking time!!! And Danny, Adam and Justin do exactly the same with their music!!! Thank you TOOL for being my true spirituality and saviours!!! 💜🤘🖤🤘💚
Totally agree. He makes the same effect to me and I have cried a lot of times over his songs and voice. Listen to last album from Puscifer ''Existential Reckoning'' if you already didn't. It is amazing
I’ll preface this by saying my genre of choice is death metal…cannibal corpse, bolt thrower, morbid Angel, and Pyrexia are faves to name a few. Been an avid fan of Tool since the early nineties. There is nothing, nothing on this planet that can stop me in my tracks like the music of this band. At the risk of sounding like a pussy, brings me to tears often. Absolutely beautiful music. So intense and emotional. Can’t describe it any other way.
This is amazing! To see them bring it back would be awesome! I think its a personal track for Maynard, but one could dream to see them do it again! They should bring back Prison Sex as well.

"He's from England so he kinda smells bad" haha classic Maynard.
MJK is too much 😂😂😂
Hes a troll.
I hope that one day they'll play it, with intermission as intro.
Oh Lord, please
That would be amazing

Most underrated Tool song. Thanks for sharing.
Hell yes they would. When I saw them at Gammage in Tempe in 2006...fuck. When they played The Patient I won't lie, I cried...

Beast of a song.
Funny how I always pictured a greenish color while listening to this song.
ME TOO
Dude, holy shit. I think exactly the same thing, but especially when the last part of the song kicks in, with the flanger'd bass.

Holy crap…I feel the same why.
Art is as personal as you desire. I'm glad Tool doesnt hold any punches, metaphorically. Heavy and artsy, as all things should be.
