I have a Russian dentist in Brooklyn, New York and there's a Russian store nearby that my parents and I always go to after our appointments. They have a crazy good Медовик, it's like crack to me 😂
My mom always gets that dried fish too (she's a soviet immigrant)
I could sit and listen to Crazy Russian Dad talk about the old Soviet Union for days. Tea would need to be involved
I look forward to fireplace stories, Crazy Russian Dad.
Oh Jesus “is generic Soviet baby” just absolutely sent me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exodus 20:7
I loved that part about 2 types of cheese during USSR : “Cheese and no cheese” 🧀 🫕 😂
"Sorry, Eastern European store" - C'mon, stop that!
But it is though
@@BoarReal Well, what I meant is that a lot of Russian stores in the West dropped "Russian" from their names after 2022 - something completely ridiculous. Why agree with this policy? They were and are Russian.
@@barrios160679 but a lot of the products in the stores are from different countries in Eastern Europe too, so this name change is a good way to make it more Diverse than just "Russian shop"
@@BoarReal I know. But this is not the point. They are still called "Russian" among Russian-speaking (and non-speaking) people who shop there. So I don't buy this name change which is a part of a larger "cancel" culture and don't support CRD's playing with it.
@@barrios160679 not everywhere they aren't, in the UK they are called "polish shops" it depends where you live, they should of changed to "eastern European shops" a while ago I believe personally
4:45 ..."which is like hunter sausage, not Hunter Biden..." LMAO 🤣 🤣 🤣
Its sad you cant be openly proud of your heritage because of discrimination. Funny how fast tgese "do gooders" go from preaching against discrimination to performing it. Stay strong and be proud of who you are man.
Nice to see a Russian store in US. I also found a good one in Serbia. :)
In the New York City Area where I live there is like 40 Russian stores, I frequent them because of the better quality food than in the regular stores.
We have "Maria" biscuits in Norway as well,
we just changed the name to "Marie".
My friend and I made a bet once on who could eat the most Marie biscuits without drinking any water. 😂
All that stuff looks good. I wish I had a Russian shop where I Live. Thanks for the video! Keep doing stuff like this!!
I really wish I was in a Russian and Eastern Europe grocery market

I love the Ukraine lady Olga proudly defend against cultural appropriation by the Russian dude
Какой у вас хороший русский магазин!❤
Нам бы такой в Сидней (Австралия)…😊
My Russian grandmother would pickle anything, including watermelon. One of her best recipes was Thanksgiving Oyster stuffing.
I pickle my own watermmelon. Maybe i m your vrandmother😢
I've never tried pickling the flesh of a watermelon, but down here in the south pickled watermelon rinds are a summer staple. The pickle juice makes a great chaser for vodka, too. I'll have to try pickling watermelon flesh, though. Just never occurred to me.
Pickled peaches are a pretty big deal down here.
Oy! My mama's oyster stuffing and solyanka!!!
Привет, товарищ. Contrary to appearances, stores and restaurants from "Eastern Europe" are different. Each country has its own culinary traditions. Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary - all of them are Eastern European countries but they have their own unique dishes not found abroad. For example, in Poland the most famous are vodka, Żywiec beer, sausage and pierogi. I have family in Chicago, I was there in the early 2000s. Every American, Irish man or Mexican asked me two words: "Kurwa" - our national curse, meaning bitch, whore and pierogis 😀You are Polish? You have to eat pierogi, drink vodka and Żywiec, use your hands to talk and say ku*wa every other word. Moreover, there is a lot of "SZ" => ш in the Polish language. A few times when we were drinking with people who were not Polish and they wanted to parody our language, they waved their hands and made inarticulate sounds. FDFDSds SZ! Ku*wa you! SZ! vdcisdbhchi SZ! Pierogis! 🙂
I grew up in the house with my barcha .She was polish but all our foods were basically russian. We in upstate NY in the country. We made our own cheeses, pickles sour kraut, butchered our own ducks and geese, refilled our pillows each spring with new feathers. You make me think of her when I see your videos. SPACIBA
Maybe I should go on the Russian food diet. Who am I kidding..I’ll try anything. Millions of Russians can’t be wrong, I guess.
Thank You Comrade
It looks so good 😋. The closest Russian Grocery shop is either in San Mateo, CA BZ Bee Market or San Francisco Europa +. I live in Pacifica, CA so it's usually special occasion trips to those & I can get 2 liters of Baikal soda. And trips to San Francisco's Moscow & Tbilsi Bakery who make the best Pieroshkis & Cheese Blinis❣😋
Excuse me, where can I find the AK47 rifles in this store?
Many of the things you said were" only for big holydays" worent nearly as expensive as needed to actually be only for big holidays...
I think you wore just in a bad part of the contry or something...
Your babushka is awesome. She can do anything.

Lots of Russians here in Anchorage Alaska but I think there are no Russian stores.
Is this place Gourmanoff in Brooklyn?

I'm wondering if you have ever tried the red Leninade sodas. Somehow it's highly themed as Marx's and Lenin's go to drink that's non alcoholic
My condolences about your son. I have one too and both weep and laugh.
They said all the time USSR had "food shortage"sure for sometime USSR faced a food crisis but not ALWAYS makes my heart warm seeing you teaching the young generations what good stuff really is 💪 спасибо большое!
Not sure how this video popped up in my suggestions. My ex wife of 13years was Russian. Ohh my god the Smoked Sturgeon. haha The in-laws would get all excited for it, they would stink up the whole house from eating it. You get that oil on your cloths, they're ruined for life. haha
DAD YOU ARE SCARING HER😂

3:35 this is my favorite, horrible, stinky, disgusting tastes like Soviet Union 😆.
This stuff is delicious. I will not stand against the bait, lure. But let's be sincere, it's not easy for your stomach, and I always have some diarrhea after eating this food, and it doesn't matter how much time I do it. Which doesn't stop me from doing it again and again.
Sorry about your son.
Bro said (do you like my cucumbers child?) oh nah what do you mean by that?💀
"Horrible stinky disgusting, tastes of Soviet Union"
So, self-serve is fine at Whole Foods but somehow a concern at the Russian store?

Love your videos.
I'd love to try Soviet cuisine sometime. Admittedly, my expectations aren't high. I suspect there is a reason Russian restaurants aren't popular outside Russia, vut I am curious!
I found a russian store near me around 2014. I love the pelmeni and other foods.
I used to have 3 russian lady coworkers. My grandfather was from russia.
