That chubby guy on miso soup is one of the original Iron Chefs, Masaharu Morimoto! He's very famous all around the world. He has several restaurants in US. And, looks like he also has product brands on his name. He used to be thin but hey, he's almost 70 years old now.

i think he CAN do a standard american accent but he chooses to keep speaking with the russian accent probably because thats how he learned to speak english and its how hes always done it
