Nice clear demonstration. Useful to view a couple or three times before proceeding to do the job yourself. A couple of close up/tighter shots of each connector area might be be useful, but apart from that very clear, easy to follow (and encourage one to "have a go...").
thanks! this video help me a lot... i have a question , in which case should the PRAM battery be changed? What are the most common symptoms to change the battery?
Thanks for this one and your other one on replacing the 2010-2012 battery. On the latter video I read a comment that said he went through the battery replacement and the machine's light would show for a moment but still not start. That's my symptom, too. Can you tell us what symptoms we would see if we need to replace the PRAM battery?
@Jeff99 I have a 2011 Mac Mini and all of a sudden one day about two years ago, it just died. It will not turn on at all. When the power button is pressed, the light on the front doesn’t even come on. Did you ever discover what the problem was with yours? I’m wondering if a dead PRAM battery will cause this. Thanks
After the reassembly, I try to reset the PRAM to reset the firmware password on my Late 2011 Mac Mini, but this has no affect, it is still asking for the firmware code, if I remove the battery long enough, will that reset it?
I replaced the battery with same type 3 volt BR2032 (200mAh) in my Mac Mini, not the 3 volt CR2032 (225mAh) which is easier to find and used on many Windows/Intel laptops. Stick with a known brand name such as Panasonic.
When I was looking at this a site called ifixit dot com, it was telling me to use a “Mac mini logic board removal tool”, which is a U-shaped rod. Did you not need one?

Absolute legend. Thanks a million for this great guide.
Good video, thank you. Does replacing the battery have any impact on the data stored on the internal hard disc?

Did you put a new battery in ? If so which one ?

once its all unscrewed you can gently pull the board out by the edge near the hard drive
Predictable Apple repair obfuscation.
Great demo. Do I need to ground myself before working inside the mac and if so, what's the easiest way?
3121babe you NEVER want to GROUND yourself when working on electrical. Just unplug the damn thing.
Is this battery the reason for my MM not coming up? It’s stuck on the start up screen.
I believe just touch something metal. And be sure not to rub your feet on the carpet while working on the repair.
