Thank you brother! Tremendous help and very simply and straight forward. Though you did forgot the T6 that’s directly under the fan on the MOBO lol. The grill and antenna connector are awful to reassemble
What screw? I took out the board. If there's a screw I didn't take out, it's because you don't need to.
@@ItsBinhRepaired just during the reassembly portion you said you forgot a screw to put back in (which isn't a big deal). I was just wondering where to put it back when I was doing my reassembly lol but I figured it out. It was the one right on the board, long screw

Thank you so much for this complete teardown. My harddisk was in the lower bay as you described it typically is (evident from the position of the SATA connector on the motherboard as well.) Had to do a complete teardown to install an SSD. Just a heads up- looks like you forgot to screw in that super long standoff-looking screw at 5:34 during reassembly!

hey man, that little cable/connector on that black bracket for the hardriver ( time: 17:10 in the video ), is it only for the power lamp or is it to anything else ? i got one of these mac mini but my cable is broken, do u know if it will work without that cable connected to the motherboard or? :)

Great video. I have a mac mini that stopped turning on, no lights, nothing. So I got a replacement power supply and followed along to replace, however, same result. Do you have any other ideas? Cable for the power supply? Something worse? Seems like if it was the mobo I would at least see the power light, but I do not. Thanks again for the video and thanks in advance for the reply.
Sounds like motherboard if power supply didn't work. :( try another outlet somewhere else in the house.

That's a RAM or logicboard issue :(
i removed a T6 screw with a little spring and could not remember later where it came from

does anyone know how easy it is to disconnect or disable the audio on this? I would like a audio-less mini-mac for work and wondered how easy it would be to do that.
At the end of the tail of the motherboard you can see the speaker. Should be able to just pop that connector out.
how would you remove just the power supply and not anything else?\
And how do I find out what exactly the problem with my mac mini is if it's not turning on

Excellent tutorial! (Please be VERY careful at 06:06, otherwise you'll need to go behind it with the hot air gun...)
You'll melt the connector if you use a hot air gun.
@@ItsBinhRepaired @It's Binh Repaired & Reviewed Even with heat tape? (I really pulled it off and already prepared hot air gun and soldering iron for monday). Will have to try to get it back somehow (i think the outer 4 connectors should be possible with the soldering iron. But the 2 at the front - not sure if they are ground or just for fixing it to the mainboard). Also saw that this is the "IR-Connector" cable... (I guess that's NOT for "InfraRed"?) What would be the worst case scenario if I don't connect that connector back?
I forget what it's for. I think hard drive activity light? Not really important if that's the case.

Wrong, that is obviously not the speaker connector is a IR connector actually.
Is it a dual core or a quad core processor in there? I am thinking picking one up used. The guy said its dual core and i was under the impression that the 2012 models had quad core set up.

6,2 core i7 quad core 2.3GHz or 2.6GHz
So not all Mac Mini 2012 are quad core.

I broke the connector from the logic board. (The one that you pry out with a bent needle.). But the computer seems to work fine without it - or the cables connected to it. What is it for?

@@ItsBinhRepaired The computer, you mean? Late 2012 that I wanted to revive with a faster hard drive. Tre drive is now installed, and the MacMini is working fine despite the broken connector. I suspect the connector powers the small "on" light and/or the IR receiver on the front of the Mine. But I am not sure. That´s why I ask.

The reason the ssd is floating is because the screws from the wifi screen secure to it

Yes.. the metal screen with all the holes in it.. that supports the wifi antenna and also supports the hard drive by the 2 screws in the middle
