Never mind our faces! My mother-in-laws' body. She was in a vegetative state for nearly four years and we nursed her at home.
We turned her frequently and rubbed her with 50/50 glycirin and surgical spirit. She developed NOT ONE bedsore. The doctors were amazed at her condition. Just mentioned it for what its worth.

Hi dr Idriss, I am a 74 year old French woman living in the US. I’ve just discovered your channel and I have been binging on yourvideos. I found this episode very interesting: My mother had beautiful skin up to her 80’s. When I grew up, she never had disposable income to spend on expensive skin care. Our family doctor advised to do use glycerin instead. This was in the early 50s, and she did so all her life on face and hands. Some years ago, I bought some glycerin at CVS but it was not like it. It was very thick and syrupy and unpleasant on the skin. I discovered recently the Now brand on Amazon. It is still quite thick but I use it on my legs and arms as my skin is very dry and dehydrated. Nowdays I have the luxury of having time for it to be absorbed. I will try some of the products you suggested. I have over the years tried the Norwegian cream . It is very efficatious on the hands in winter, but I hate the feel. Can’t wait to see what you are coming with with your new formula. Keep up with ‘Shereen University”. Besides being very enjoyable, it is useful in making wiser choices and better use of our products. A big thank you!

I feel the same way.. i hate the feeling of glycerin on my skin and glycerin based products 😑
I guess i could water it down but doesn’t that beat the purpose? I would be watering everything else down… and if i have hard water….
I also heard from a reputable dr i personally know, that glycerin feeds bacteria. He recommends against antibacterial hand gels, specially the ones with glycerin bc not only do they not actually work to kill bacteria, the glycerin actually feeds the bacteria.
Nothing beats your good ol’ warm water and soap hand wash.
I still stay away from glycerin. I do put an occlusive oil over my HA containing products.
I prefer oil to sticky glycerin. It feels more natural.
