- The build is complete (for now). If you pay full retail for the parts listed (I shopped for deals, got some parts used, and had a lot of help from Brownells), plus the going rate for the parts that aren't available for retail, you're looking at a total just north of $4,000, not counting tax and gunsmith fees etc.
DON'T EVER BUILD A SOPMOD BLOCK II CLONE!

I finally watched this back after uploading it. At one point in the video I misspeak and say "Magpul CRT Stock" and then correct myself with text on screen which says "Magul CTR." Yeah... That one sneaked by me. You know what I meant, right? Right? RIGHT?!
Good.
One of the sweetest clones ever created. Great job!
Just curious as to if you ever got a suppressor, built another AR, and how often you shoot? I would have loved to DM you to talk shop.
I usually watch you for the pipe Tobacco reviews, but now i have another reason to visit you.
Thanks man! Stay safe.
I really like it when I run out of flannel daddy videos, I can still have some of his Italian-ish half brother from a different mother.
Time for a MK 18! Nice build, glad you went with the non-fsp ris ii.
Awesome build Bradley! Great work.
Thanks!
Outstanding build Sir. Thank you for showing it. I built a similar Block 2 after I watched your first build videos, but I used the non fsb rail so what goes around comes around lol. Love your channel keep up the great work!
Nice! Enjoy your Block II.
I finally got my block II fsp built. I'm so happy.
Just got done watching your video where your RIS 2 got ripped off sad days but you built it! Great success!
Nice build!!! Kevin, you're a good man and a freaking stud.
He is indeed.
I admire your dedication to the build. I will be uploading my Colt M4A1 Sopmod 1.5 video shortly. I would run a T2 like you but my other aimpoint is running just fine so can't justify the price. I wish I had a Block II but already had one with the front post so went 1.5. I also went opposite of you and ran ergonomic so swapped out A2 grip and gasbuster. Anyway, I think you have one of the more accurate sopmod videos. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
@@stuffandthingsyoutube sure thing. I uploaded my video. Left out a few pieces for same reasons you said but not bad.
Wow Bradley this rifle has alot of parts you did an excellent job on it it looks awesome I don't knw anything about guns or rifles so I was listening to you discribe every part and its interesting thanks so much for sharing buddy I enjoy it alot you did a great job enjoy it ☺☺☺☺☺👍👍👍👍👍👍 best regards Peter
It's a fun hobby!
Very nice! If I was going to stray away from the Block I stuff, this is the setup I'd go for. Specifically the way you've got yours set up with the T2 in lieu of an Eo/Spectre. Aesthetically the Eotech and Spectre are very nice, but it's hard to beat the battery life and weight of the Aimpoints.
I may get an Eotech G33 magnifier and see how it goes with the T-2. What's another 11.2 ounces? ;-)
The most important thing is looking cool. As long as it looks cool, the weight doesn't matter.
awesome work Bradley, this looks great, you should be very proud of what you've accomplished! any chance for a video showcasing this bad boy in action at the range?
I'm sure I will at some point.
Beautiful!!!!!!
Very nice AR. I am what people would call a "gun nut" and yet I am jealous!
THANK GOD you didn't get the Geissele rail after the mishap. I have a non FSP version myself and its definitely the way to go. Looks great, I need to grow a pair and rattle can mine but taking a can to an ACOG plus 3k in parts makes me cry a little bit. Haha!
Nice build!
With a Colt SOCOM Profile you need have an H2 Buffer . If not you will have Bolt Bouce . You will not notice anything in Semi but if you had a fun switch it would eventually malfunction due too bolt bouce. The TDP is for a H2 Buffer when using SOCOM profile
Great vid. Thanks.
Garand thumb did a pretty interesting video on the eotec.
I'll check it out.
Beautiful rifle friend...I am working on a block I clone and I am thinking about stealing your paint scheme. Great job 👍🏼
Thanks! Good luck with your build.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
You should make an updated video of how the M4A1 Block II is looking now! Not many good Block II videos on UA-cam and im sure other people would enjoy the update as well!
very cool!
Clone life man . It's fun and expensive . That my friend will be worth a pretty penny in years to come . Might as well and just Clone them all . MK18 CQBR , M4 SOPMOD , M4A1 SOPMOD , M16A1 , And M16A4 . With the A4 though I do believe that's USMC and it's actually FNMI. The M16A3 is the rarest of them all . The USN was the only ones who contracted the 16a3
The ladder rail covers they use are the ergo rail covers.
H Garza I'm pretty sure the Magpul ladder covers are made by Ergo.
Sick rattle can job dude
Oh, first viewer this time...early bird. Beautiful gun. I also like the colour. I prefer the smaller vertical grip, though. Would be fun to try out on the shooting range.
Regards, Patrick (Switzerland)
Thanks for watching! I'll probably end up using the smaller BCM grip more often than not. At least I have the larger TangoDown grip for "authenticity" though.
Awesome awesome build project...curious as to the grand total on that! I want one
You can get the Ris ii direct from Daniel Defense now.
Badass rifle
The 4 prong came standard on my upper
+STUFFandTHINGS gorgeous rifle and awesome video. How durable and reliable is it as a combat ready rifle? Thanks!
I have one of the RIS 2 FSP rails
as long as you are a shadow of others, you are nothing. build your own.
Daniel Defense just listed the non FSP RIS II on their website again. Priced at $450
I’m no expert but I am pretty sure that your KAC micro rear sight is not clone correct. The KAC 99051 front sight in taupe is correct, but it would be paired with either a KAC full sized 300 or 600 meter sight. I only know this because I have a set of micros on my MK18 and have been recently bitten by the clone bug and want to switch them out. Micros weren’t in the Block program as far as I can tell.
Just found this video. Did you ever do any more work on this, or build anything else? I didn't see anything on the channel. I ask because now the 4 prong flash hider is more readily available. Also there is govt contract B5 SOPMODs available at Brownells.
Very nice build, you should do a mk18 build.
I just got lucky and snagged a FDE RIS II, Colt 14.5 SOCOM and colt upper for $600.
The surefire light, muzzle device and the gas buster charging handle all together are more than my everyday 16" AR-15 carbine I built... Yeah....
Nice rifle, unrelated question, if someone wanted to try smoking a pipe for the first time where would you suggest they start?

Are you getting a suppressor?
The 75th Ranger Regiment is using the Aimpoint T1.
you should think about attaching the sling to the buttstock instead of the cqd plate @stuffandthings
I do use a QD attachment to the stock when I'm not in "clone correct" mode. Since I had the correct CQD rear sling attachment, I though I should use it. :-)
the funny thing is the rangers use the qd on the stock
With the B5 SOPMOD stock getting into the supply chain, I'm not surprised. The original LMT stock didn't have the QD attachment. I definitely prefer QD over the clips.
That gun is scary. I am so frightened. Look at that sliding stock, and the flashlight that is mounted to it. What is that on top, a laser that can burn people? I bet it has a detachable high capacity clip that goes into the handle. I bet it shoots bigger scarier bullets than my Grandfather's 30-30 cowboy lever gun. There is no wood on it anywhere. I have to check under my bed at night to see if one of those scary machine guns are under there. Sorry I had to.
Ernest Sheffield It's terrifying isn't it? Everyone knows you can buy a deadly AR-15 with speed clipazines at any store. This is the country we live in, honestly guns should just be banned, because why does anyone need a gun anyway, right?
It's fun to show non-gun people a .223 and .30-06 round and then ask them which one goes with the safe hunting rifle and which goes with the scary "assault" rifle.
Yep. Then they tell you that it is inhumane to use such a big bullet 30-06 (or maybe a 7mm ultra mag) to kill an elk. I guess 'cuz a quick death with a bigger caliber is less humane? I'm not even a hunter, and that makes me roll my eyes. I just like shooting. Paper is the enemy, and it must die.
Is this version low profile gas block better than a fixed A2 FSP
I like it better (and I own a factory Daniel Defense M4A1 which has the standard RIS II with a MK12 gas block, instead of the RIS II FSP). The problem with the RIS II FSP is that if you C-clamp your rifle when you shoot, the FSP is right in the spot where you’ll want to put your thumb. That’s the reason that all of the SOCOM components that used to issue RIS II FSP are ditching it and have switched back to the standard RIS II.
Did you build another one or just change the original fsp version with Eotech
Changed the original.
Very noiceeee
Nice build. Good decision on skipping the PEQ15, they are pricey. Looks like you are ready for another build. Whats next?
We'll see. I need to cool it on AR parts for a little bit. Too pricey.
What are the red letters on the magazine? Did you add them or did it come like that? Thanks
I added them to help me keep track of my mags. If one malfunctions, I'll know which one it is.
STUFFandTHINGS Ahh! Great idea!
i am about to build a MK18 MOD1, i watched all your videos about block ii and i want to ask you if i can use all the parts you use to the m4a1 at my mk18 to be clone correct...ofc except the barrel(10.3) and the dd ris ii(9.5) which i need shorter
Most of those parts should be interchangeable with the MK18.
thanks, i couldn't find any 'official' part list for mod1
Do you have any video's of shooting this fine carbine? Doesn't matter how close or far. Make it happen twinkle toes.
He's probably one of those people who don't even train and just keeps it in the safe lol.
i SEEN THE SOPMOD RAIL ON EBAY WITH SOME OFFICAL NUMBERS ON EBAY FOR $800
There was never a problem with the XPS or exps line from eotech....
I never should have returned mine! I thought I'd like the Aimpoint more, and it IS a fine optic, but I really loved the reticule on the Eotech.
Any desire to get the URG-I from Geissele that is being adopted by USASOC?
Yep! Haha. I'd love to be able to get the whole upper and have it as an alternate configuration, but that price!
why did you end up switching to the none FSB from FSB, i am trying to pick FSB or none FSB for my block 2 build
I’d had the FSP version for awhile, and I had found a great deal on the KA backup irons, front and rear, so I wanted to try the non-FSP version as a change. Also just general slickness. Though the FSP version looks pretty cool too.
STUFFandTHINGS Intresting thanks I currently have 2 KAC irons sitting around so I might just got with the none FSb
66 Like's...👍)) I can Throw a, three eights Wrench Fairly Quick, I don't know many folks that can run as fast as I can throw... -lol. Great Rifle Spec's Review Bradley. 📬🍺😎
Inquiring minds would like to know, if the rifle was ever on safe, after six years.....🤔
Awesome build brother!
Correct would be H2, because of the heavier barrel profile. I'm sure someone has already stated this though.
Can we see her shoot, maybe some groups at 100?
Post Script: Is that a Bulova? Nice!

Hey Buddy, nice vid! FYI for the PEQ box, you can get a replica peq-15 with ir and red laser/light for anywhere from $40-$100 from many airsoft retailers. They look very very realistic, and the higher end ones use the same shell materials. heres a link to one www.evike.com/products/52109/
Uppers for clones DO NOT need to be Colt to be clone correct. Colt was never the sole supplier of M4 carbines to the US military and FNH currently is the supplier of carbines to the US military. Also, seeing as how MIL-Spec specifies the standards for all traditional forged upper receivers, as long as the upper is within spec, it is clone correct.
You're certainly free to use whichever definition of "clone correct" you wish. FNH does supply the military now, so perhaps for a future "Block III," that's what I'll use, but after all my research (and I assure you, it was exhaustive), I know that Colt is the way to go to fit MY definition of clone correct Block II.
Thanks for watching!
Since colt wants to demand a premium I’ll pass and go with bcm receivers.
Went with FN for the receivers, bcg, and barrel. Saved a pretty penny because colt demands a premium for lesser quality
One could get for looks sake a peq clone for $100
20K subscribed and you had to Dremel your FSP (front sight post) off? Nobody offered up any help? Next build when you need a FSP cut off please contact me and I'd gladly mill it off for you. I get wanting to build it yourself but no FSP deserves that LOL. Sorry to hear about DD rail experience but sounds like it turned out fine. I want the version you lost WITH the FSP cut out.
I had to do it with the rail still on the rifle because of my pinned and welded flash hider. Not ideal, but it worked quite well.
These videos crack me up...... I can put together an AR for 1/3 of the cost. It will even look and function the same, be just as accurate, WILL be 40% lighter, and you would NEVER know it was not "authentic"...........
I could litterally build 3 rifles (optics/lights/furniture) for the same cost as this setup.........
The stuff people spend money on..........
Charles Cline but quality my friend.
IF EOTECH stopped spending so much money advertising on every gun radio show and magazine. Maybe they could spend more money on Quality control
Eotech junk, good choice with aimpoint
I have the eotech su231(553) and an aimpoint t2,the eotech and the aimpoint have never lost zero had no thermal shift ect.The eotech is heavy but the glass is better than the t2 and the reticle is better also. The t2 wins battery life and weight comparison, they're both great sights and I have no plan to get rid of either.By the way I'm in southeast Texas where the heat could affect performance but both just keep on performing without any problems.Eotech junk? No.
I just bought a 4 prong sure fire from Primary arms website for $147 today.
EOTECH . I will just say that if SightMark CAN GIVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND COST WAY WAY LESS not to mention Primary arms unconditional lifetime warranty as well as vortex. The when EOTECH can offer a life time warranty I may consider spending way more money . It really make one wonder why no lifetime warranty ?Maybe because they don't believe in there products?
weapons not on safe sir.
Cmoney3174 You can’t put it on safe if the hammer is not cocked and fully engaged with the sear. Hammer not cocked means rifle can’t fire means no need to have rifle on safe. I’m assuming he’s not walking around his living area with a round chambered and the hammer cocked.
☝️ this is my safety.
Dislike for the hat
Wow never thought their could be controversy about a rifle scope. XD
