I've had several cheap AR's and liked them. But I figured why not have a cheap beater and one really good one! So I finally got a SOPMOD B2 upper. Added a surefire light and a TA31. By far the absolute best AR15 I've ever had!
Nice upper build. Personally, I'm not such a big fan of the RIS II FSP, because the front sight tower is right in the spot where I put my thumb when C-clamping (also: where I put the pressure pad for my Surefire 600DF). I'm running a factory Daniel Defense M4A1 which just has the standard M4A1 RIS II with the continuous top rail, and that's the version I prefer.
cant wait to add this rail and ditch the shorter rail i have now. My ar build is finally almost done after about a year of finding out what i like lmao
I love the 3 prong war comp!! I have it on my clone although I would rather have the 4 I was gonna go with the kac grip but went so went with tango down
I've been debating on whether to try to get "clone correct" parts or not. Thanks to this vid, I've decided to not care about it and just have fun building a clone.

Each one has its own special purpose behind why I run them, but I had to chose just one, I’d chose the M4A1 hands down. Only drawback for me is just the weight, but it’s not too bad. I’ll be posting a video here shortly on current projects I’ve been working on. Just haven’t been able to post anything lately, but will have an update out sometime soon.
@@gunrunner5.569 im thinking about getting rid of my 14.5 bcm and going with the m4a1 upper. is the .5 lb that noticeable when your shooting it and using the gun? my bcm is light weight but thoose m lok rails are definately not as strong as the dd ris 2 rail
@@gunrunner5.569 my thoughts were id set the m4a1 up exactly like my mk 18 it would just be better for shooting at farther distances it would probly be a pretty sweet pair of rifles my mk 18 is my favorite to shoot i can hit all day with it at 200 yds but i know the ballistics arent ideal at much farther distances guns capable of shooting farther for sure tho
@@CodySnell_87 I have 3 14.5 uppers and I just built a MK18 MOD 0 upper a few months back. I’ll be showing those builds in the next video probably, but my idea is to always have my 14.5 uppers along with my MK18 upper and set them up similar to each other. Only slight variations in optics/lights but all still the same setup basically.
Nice. In my opinion, the only way to clone a MK18, M4 is to join the military, get issued one, and walk outside the wire with one. Just my thoughts. I will be utilizing BCM primarily for my M4 inspired build.
I had Colt and FN M4’s when I was in. I’m not trying to make a 100% clone, just set it up using quality parts and similar to how I ran my M4 when I was a rifleman.

Nothing wrong with a 16” barrel with a carbine gas system. Get a little extra velocity with the 16”
