- How to replace your positive crankcase ventilation valve.
With time the valve can become clogged with oil varnish or sludge which prevents it to work properly. It might affect your vehicle performance. This is the first time I'm changing it at 165K miles.
For 2010-2013 models the valve is located in a different spot - on the right side of the front head cover. The valve itself is the same.

I love your videos, hopefully you will make more, it’s been over a year. I hope you are well. I really wish Honda made these out of Metal like Toyota. Unfortunately because these are made from plastic and deal with hot oil and are constantly under extreme temperatures the plastic cracks. Mine broke inside the valve cover and the valve covers had to be removed to take out the dozens of pieces of plastic. It took almost an entire day.

Thanks! Acura does not specify this as a regular maintenance item. But then again, Acura doesn’t specify regular valve clearance checking. They only say adjust valves if noisy, which might be too late at that point.
@@AcuraAddicted Just replaced mine, it was very sludgy and appeared to be in bad shape. Have you done a valve clearance checking video?

Great video! The new valve location on my 2011 is harder to get at. Had to remove/move the ignition coil harness, cover bracket and fuse box to get good access to the valve. Tried to gently pop out with a flat head and pick but popped the head off the valve. After the panic settled I used some needle nose pliers and a few MFer's to pull it out. Next time I'll remove the fuse box bracket to get even better access so I can rotate the valve around and get a good finger pinch like you did. The potential to pop the head off the valve is less that why IMO. Again, great video!

Were you showing symptoms of a problem or is it just maintenance? How much on average for part? Great job.
Thanks! Various sources suggest this as a maintenance item to improve engine performance and potentially prevent or solve issues like excessive oil consumption. Although I haven’t had any of those issues, I felt like at my mileage (165K miles) it’s time to do this. Note how clogged and dirty the valve is. The part cost in US is around $40.
Do you suggest getting an acuraoemparts.com PCV valve (OE) OR from NAPAONLINE.COM (ECHLIN aftermarket) the echlin is $57 and the acura oe is about 28-40 bucks. What makes the aftermarket Better? Is it better? Lol
Just get OEM.
У меня из-за этого клапана прокладки клапанной крышки обе продавило в начале зимы в прошлом году. Тоже поставил новый клапан, старый отмочил лежит прозапас. Для себя сделал вывод, замена масла раз в 10 тыс. это очень плохо, хотя и масло лью очень хорошее. Сейчас буду менять раз в 7.5 тыс. (и считать удобно).
Ни фига себе! Будем знать, как бывает, однако!

У тебя на рестайле справа на передней клапанной крышке (запчасть та же). Тут выше Дмитрий докладывает, что из-за сбоя этого клапана у него продавило прокладки крышек. Достать его несложно, хотя бы достань и глянь, в каком он состоянии. Если весь в жиже и забит, меняй.
А ты клапана хоть раз регулировал ?
Зачем? У нас же бензин хороший.
Да, две недели назад. Зазоры минимально изменились и только на некоторых клапанах. Некоторые пришлось немного ослабить, некоторые подтянуть. Будет третья серия где-то в октябре.
@@AcuraAddicted Отлично. А то я стал недавно замечать, что при трогании (с места газу побольше, но не в пол и не до дури), слышно кратковременный брякоток под нагрузкой 2-3 сек. После исчезает при любом нажатии и опять только при разгоне с места. Клапана однозначно. ГРМ я весь поменял со всеми сопутствующими.

@@OlegSever-1973 у нас это в США, Канаде бензин хорошего качества, и клапана регулируют один раз в промежутке 160-300 тыс. км. Я слыхал дома эту процедуру делают чуть ли не каждые 40 тыс. км.

Это пластик, если использовать очиститель, то в следующий раз клапан выйдет по частям и будет на много больше геморроя. Автору очень повезло что он вылез целиком.
