    Hello Sir,
    Epic video 👌 Epic channel 😃 Congratulations. I really need your opinion: I'm undecided between the Asus Proart 279cv , BenQ PD2705U and Lg 27un880-b, based on your experience and knowledge, which of the three do you think is the best buy? I'm going to use this monitor for web design, web content, programming and also for watching movies and series. My office has a window that is usually open. The window is 4 meters away from the monitor. What do you think? Thanks in advance

    You still have to calibrate the monitor occasionally. When you do calibrate, brightness to get accurate colors are way lower than 100%. That means you should be in a dark room as when calibrating, and color correcting.. Some people, (not me) even put up 18% grey paint or fabric. I just do grading ,if important, without much light in the room. Your eyes will adapt to warm or blue lights and mess up your color vision. Ie warm or cool lights look white. Human Eyes, auto White Balance.

      Yes, you're right and thank you for sharing these tips!
      In my case I've covered my editing station with black walls around and I generally turn on a 5500k light to suppress parassite light, this helps quite a lot.

    Which mode is the best for editing photos with this Asus proart monitor ? i would say srgb but how about dc3 mode ?

    • @LucaBono.Studio

      I use this monitor just in sRGB or Rec709...all the other options aren't very accurate in terms of colors.

  • @vladislavihl

    I have a question… Which color profile do you set during grading of your footage? Rec709 or sRGB? And why? (i set my EIzo monitor at sRGB for stills and for videos because I believed the results would be watched on UA-cam in sRGB anyway…).

    • @LucaBono.Studio

      I'M SO GLAD I STUMBLED upon this VIDEO AND COMMENT... because I just set up this monitor and I was wondering the SAME THING. NOW, I can just leave this on sRGB as well for stills and video color grading. THANKS to you both. I was really having a slight problem since Rec709 allows you to adjust Brightness but... I don't want that to affect the color grading process whilst sRGB doesn't allow the brightness to be adjust which is understandable due to its colour space.
      Then I guess for anything else not related to editing, just gonna go for standard.
      Thanks guys and IF EVER anyone has any other tips.. please COMMENT here and reply cause I'd like to hear them as well or suggestions! THANKS!!

      Ciao! Da quello che ho capito, il monitor e' 8bit quindi per lo spazio DCI-P3 il monitor usa una LUT. Il preset DCI-P3 e' presente e viene riprodotto bene.

    Great video that's helpful and straight to the point Luca! Have you tried the DCI-P3 mode on this monitor? It seems accurate for sRGB and Rec. 709 but I can't seem to find much info on the DCI-P3 mode or the coverage. I'm used to the Display P3 on an iMac and while I know this monitor is not as sharp, I'm more concerned about color. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  3 роки тому +1

      For the DCI-P3 the monitor uses a LUT, because it's not a 10 bit monitor...I think you should look for a true calibrated 10 bit monitor if you need to work with bigger colour space.
      Thanks for watching Charles and sorry for the late reply

    Hi sorry I'm looking for a new 4k monitor for a better college experience when it comes to reading, and I was wondering what "Reading mode" does as a preset on the PA279CV? There's more info on the Benq e-paper mode on their website and it seems very well thought-out, while Asus just says it reduces blue light. So I was just wondering if Asus does just as good and infos are simply missing on the website or I should go for the Benq?? I know it's a weird questions but thanks very much if you could clarify this for me.

    grazie, bel video. sono quasi convinto a prenderlo, per usarlo come monitor esterno per il mio macbook pro M1 del 2020. Hai esperienza con questo tipo di setup? mi pare di capire che tu usi un pc fisso. In giro leggo che potrebbe portare il mac a scaldare molto..come fanno anche altri monitor.

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  9 місяців тому

      Why not? The speaker is there and it has a bad quality...it's a fact.
      If in the future the manufacturers will produce monitors with decent audio speakers, like for the TV and for the same price, wouldn't you be happy?

    • @Skeware
      @Skeware 2 місяці тому

      I always think that audio speakers on a monitor is just a waste of money for us professionals who need this kind of reliable monitors to actually work better. I had one like 10 years ago (other brand) and it's speakers were always just useless for me, I've never considered bad devices audio when working though... And I don't think I will ever 😅

      @@LucaBono.Studio This is so complicated. I now also found that it’s HDR10, and maybe “PQ”, but HLG is not mentioned. I wonder if I should buy an HLG monitor?
      The Panasonic camera is HLG and many TVs are HLG, so it comes to my mind that using HLG would be a good idea.

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  3 роки тому

      As far as I remember the HLG is an hybrid log gamma, this means that if you display the video on HDR TV you'll see HDR content, while if you display the video on a rec709 TV you'll see rec709 content.
      If you can buy a true 10bit monitor, it will be better...but probably more expensive as well
