      Thank You for the tip! I will being trying that out with the poles.

      @@ConrailSteve also if you hit the insulators with a color like that funky green that mimics the glass. You can take really cheap poles and turn them into real head turners.

      @@jeffreyknoop2450 I will definitely add the green for the glass. Thank you for the tips! can't wait to work on the new poles.

    Love those CORNELL red U23Bs!
    I have a photo of 2780(LV 504)at the roundhouse (still red) in Sharonville , OHIO,,May 1980. I saw these both as LV and CR red. Even caught two(both red) on a TV train in 1979 or 80 at RH tower Cincinnati. I saw 2777 many times in red. I have a connection to LV. My G G Grandmother was a CORNELL.
    I am in the Cornell family line. Last I heard about 20 years ago a former LV U23B was working some industry in Md. 2777-2788 (LV 501-512) Those were the days.

    Didn't have time to watch the freight car video's yet, but make time for these. You do the 70's patch paint jobs that CR was known for so well!!!

      Thank you! I really wish I had to time, space, and budget to do more 70's stuff but for now it'll have to stay as occasional projects.

    I see you have a lot of projects going on , your not alone. I have many i am focusing on to get them caught up. Also i run u boats on my layout as a short line company . I am also 90's to early 2000's . They just will come out of staging here and there.

      Trying to stay busy and keep things rolling here on the channel at the same time. I have a U23B in Conrail blue I eventually plan on patching out and using as a switcher on a future layout build. Can't beat how the Atlas units run!

    Great video Steve, I too have been subbed to the Q&NE channel for about 6 years, I was just joking with him the
    other day when he showed off
    his new home road boxcars, I
    told him after those cars end up in a outbound Conrail train
    they'll come back Graffitied up!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Steve, what color of gray should the Conrail ballast cars, or other MoW cars be painted. I was considering a primer gray. Your thoughts?

    • @ConrailSteve
      @ConrailSteve  5 місяців тому

      Primer gray would work and I have used that in the past on ballast cars. I would recommend going with a lighter gray if you plan to weather the cars as it'll make the weathering process easier with a lighter gray versus a darker gray.

    Curious, how does the transport get out of the corner?

    • @ConrailSteve
      @ConrailSteve  5 місяців тому

      It technically doesn't have a way out due to space on the layout being limited. I did the best I could to blend some of the roads into the backdrop but that is one spot that it doesn't blend well. The road is supposed to go between the buildings but is kind of hard to see.

      Highball Graphics sell one style that is 3D printed and Bowser MFG makes the other style.
