I worked at Peet's and idk if they're just more chill overall or maybe since they're not as big as Starbucks they're not AS paranoid about their image, but although they always said the customer is first, they wouldn't "give in" and bend policy. I mean, we mostly had great customers since 99% were regulars in the SF Financial District so when they were bad customers, they were BAD and my leads/supervisors would never take any sh*t from them. Sometimes we refused to make drinks if they were overtly rude to us. I feel like Starbucks would stress me out more since it sounds like they hold the "customer first" policy strictly.
I envy you! SB is very much customer first although recently, my coworkers have told me that I should stand up for myself more so maybe not. But at my old store anytime a customer was upset, the instinct was to just do WHATEVER it was to make the situation right. My manager would be super pissy otherwise. My new store is way more understanding though It's def about the people (customers in the area) and the attitude of ur coworkers imo
I am so glad you found it helpful! let me know if you have any questions :) If I don't respond here (sometimes YT doesnt send me notifications) my instagram is in the bio :)
Hey! I tried so hard to get an interview at the bux maybe more than 6 months and never got a call back and so one day I called in a store and they recommended me to call other location as they thought they might need staff for the early shifts so I called there twice and I have an interview on Thursday! I hope I get the job!!
Sunidhi Sobti honestly girl that’s smart! With big corporate companies like starbucks they don’t necessarily care about people on an individual level so if you want a let up you kinda gotta do it yourself!! good luck w your interview! I know you’ll get it! Personally I’d research the new drinks and mention a favorite drink of yours that it’s kinda unique to starbucks! And if they ask what you would do if a customer is upset about their drink always say remake it and make the moment right! hope this helps let me know if you have any questions!!!
Are you from India. Did you get the job I also applied in Starbucks. It's been 2 months no respond yet.. I have no pan card. Can you tell me is it mandatory or not in India.
I applied online a week ago to one closest to my house and called once. they said the hiring manager was on vacation until Friday! I called Friday, and they said to call again Monday because their vacation got extended. I’m nervous because it would be my first job if I do get an interview or anything.
Itz Zela Dont worry !! If you are I’d recommend checking the out the law of attraction! But anyways the interview was chill for me; just remember to do some research on new drinks and have a favorite drink and remember what to say when the manager asks what you would do if someone says we messed up their drink! as for covid-19... they do take some precautions but overall... no doubt that exposing yourself to working puts you and whomever you live with at a higher risk of getting covid. Wearing a mask properly and using glove can minimize that risk- the mask is already required - but if you work at a drive thru I’d be extra careful and use the glove as much as possible! Let me know if you have any other questions 💕 and good luck!! I know you’re gonna get the job!!
I have an interview tomorrow on zoom because of Covid.. I’m super nervous I’m 16 years old and call about once every week to check up on my application!!
yes! they accept anywhere. i just looked up food handler's permit online and picked the first one aha. mine is from food handler solutions! try that, it will def be accepted!
cgv v ooo that’s awesome!!! good luck!!! if ur super flexible that’s super appealing to most managers!! oo and don’t forget to contact them if they don’t back to you after the manager is back!!
There's tons of benefits with Starbucks. Plus, they have a flexible schedule where you can work two jobs and get all the benefits + extra monies. Never say never.. you don't know the highs and lows of what your future holds.
Sandra hey!! I don’t think it will! I got hired in high school and a lot of the starbucks in my area hires people from high school! As long as your 16 I’m sure it won’t make a difference! Any manger may have unconscious beliefs and biases I am unaware about but there’s def a decent amount of hires from high school in the stores ive worked at! Hope this helps and do let me know if you have any questions! Sometimes I don’t get noticed here so you can dm me on Instagram (womanjari) if it’s urgent! And thanks for watching 💕
No, if your at least 16 you can work as a barista or some other positions, also when u apply I think u can chose which days your available to come in, if your in hs your most likely just gonna be working on saturdays and sundays which are the most busiest day so the managers are gonna like that
lolll i’m kind of late to this video but what did you say for availability since you were gonna start school soon? i’m planning to start working during the summer and continue with less hours during school .
Yeah so I just kept my availability open during summer and for school it was super limited but my manger didn’t really care and honestly I wasn’t looking for hella hours anyways so for example I just put open on weekends and then M W F 3:30-9:30. With school online my w it might be more flexible for you so I’m not sure but my manager was understanding she hired hella teens so she was expected that kind of limited availability tbh. However different managers schedule differently. My first manager would kinda just schedule me randomly whenever In my availability, not really consistently the same days or times. Second manager scheduled pretty much similar days and times were based on what she thought was needed on past weeks trends so just some food for thought bc each manager schedules kinda differently. Hope this helps! Lmk if you have any other questions :)
Hey I also applied in Starbucks. Two months occured no response yet. I have a question actually in India minimum age is 18 for applying in Starbucks. I am over 18 but I have no pan card which I think is mandatory their as far I heard from other youtuber. Can you tell me suppose hr call Me for interview and if I tell him that my documents is on progress. I applied for pan card but it takes minimum 20 days .so If I tell him then. Will they wait or rejected me.
My experience is based on working in the US so idk if it would be different in india but yes I think they would wait. A lot of my documents took a few weeks and honestly my manager didn’t bug me at all I just reached out when stuff was ready. Not all managers are the same but mine was looking for self motivated ppl really and wasn’t pushy. Not all my stuff was ready- I needed a work permit signed and other things which took at least two weeks so I didn’t have issues. Like I said idk if it’s different in India but I am sure it will differ from manager to manager. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions !
do you think it would be okay to follow up in-person during this time? (Covid-19) The locations I applied at offer dine-in services so I can go inside, but I'm unsure if that would be the best thing to do
I would avoid going in person mainly because the managers are rarely in especially w covid. I’d call the store and ask when the manager is in and see what they tell you to do from there!
@@EuphoriaInBloom 11am ish on weekends. When I worked that was post our biggest rush. Usually the manager should be in around that time on weekdays. If not you can ask them when you can call for when the manager will be in!
