- How to Fix annoying VGA light staying on, no monitor display, no signal to monitor during PC boot. This is what worked for me on my first pc build. Looked everywhere but every one had different solutions that did not work for me. Hope this helps.
I forgot to say on the video but my specs are
MSI B450 Bazooka Plus motherboard
Ryzen 5 3600 Processor
Asus ROG Strix RX570 4GB Graphics Card
Corsair 16GB Ram

OMG, you saved my time. I was able to get it fixed by plugging in Hdmi to the MOBO and then do my first boot using only 1 RAM. After 2nd boot I was able to use my GPU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Removed the cmos and it worked! I have a ryzen 5900x so there’s no integrated gpu. I figured the hdmi trick wouldn’t work, but luckily removing the battery did! Thanks so much 🎉

@@crankyjitter9018 you should remove it while the PC is off, for about 15 seconds. Just tried it myself and it solved my issue.
@@kronik.7 still got nothing...my pc was still ok until i changed my thermal paste.after i assembled it this happens, first the cpu led i fixed it, then my dram...and now um stuck at vga

Hello! I tried these fixes and it did not work for me, have you heard of anybody else having further issues? I've updated bios, I've tried repeating gpu, ive tried both slots, I can see picture with a 1070, not my 3070. 3070 has no visible damage and lights up when I turn my pc on.
Try removing one by one if you have faulty hard disk installed in your computer. That is also the reason why this error occurs.
Thank you so much, removing cmos fixed my issue, I have a Ryzen 7 5800X and the gpu is a GTX 1060 3GB.

I have tried to reset the cmos and my pc work but after a few minutes my pc frooze and the vga debug led is on again. so i tried plugging my Display port on the motheboard and my pc works again but then it freezes again. so my last resort is getting the GPU out of the motherboard and still plugging in the display port on the motherboard, and my pc works well. I dont know if my gpu is the problem

Thank you, I just got my new GFX 3070 rog Strix Graphics card and I been trying for about 4 hours to figure out why it isn’t working. Everything is compatible with the GPU and I could figure out why it wouldn’t work. After watching your video I tried both steps the last one you showed I tried first it didn’t work but then I removed the battery and it worked which is amazing. Now the first time I removed the battery it wanted me to go into my bios which I didn’t and restarted my computer and the whole light came back on again. But I just disconnected the batter again and for a few secs then reconnected it and turn my pc on and it loaded right up without asking me to go into my bios. Much appreciated thank you!!!

Is there a way to make it permanent to where I don’t have to repeat the steps multiple times?

Will try the HDMI fix as the CMOS did not work for me. Still will try that as well just in case I did not wait long enough.
You saved me! The fix for me was taking out that battery when computer is off, wait a few minutes, then put it back in and power on.

The Method of taking out the monitor cable from the VGA worked for me yesterday but when I turned my pc on again today, the same issue was happening. I fixed it using the same method but I was wondering if it is normal for the issue to happen again?
Be aware that another of your internal hardware is faulty.. The same problem is caused by connecting a faulty hard disk. If more than one hard disk is connected, disconnect them one by one, restart the computer and check again.
I was having a very similar problem the other day, except it happened when the pc was on for hours playing youtube videos while I was asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night, my monitor was off, PC on, all fans spinning, VGA light on, no power to keyboard and mouse. I moved the mouse and the PC did not wake up. Shut down and restarted using the power button, turned monitor back on, no issues, except I noticed that if I try to go into BIOS by pressing Delete, I get a black screen and cannot boot into windows until performing another hard shutdown.
Nothing has changed, this PC has worked fine for months since I bought it from the guy who built it, had no issues before a couple of weeks ago when I reset my PC and reinstalled Intel Wireless Bluetooth drivers bc of a bad windows update, all my power and sleep settings are on Never. This is an old Sony Bravia TV I'm using as a monitor and it does randomly turn off sometimes...Could this trigger some sort of unknown mode that turns off all peripherals if no display detected? I haven't had any performance-related issues since this happened (a few days ago now), no weird random overheating of components or anything like that. I have the computer on about 12 hours a day for youtube, news, music listening, recording through Audacity, etc, and the issue has never reappeared. No boot issues, the VGA light does come on and turn off during boot (none of the other debug leds do)..but I don't know if that means anything aside from the monitor being old and maybe sending a signal slowly.
My system specs are as follows:
- B450M PRO-VDH MAX (MS-7A38)
- Processor - AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics
- 32 GB (4 sticks) of Corsair RAM
- Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060
- BIOS is from 7/23/2019

thank you so your 1 method is work the white light is gone i take out battery and put after 10 minutes now the white light is goen thank you (but after take out battery and re put the then go to the bios and enable the cms then the computer on or windows run other wise every time the bios open )

I tried the 2nd method. I have change to the motherboard's port, and restarted. Vga light still on.. Does this mean my gpu is damages? But I was using it just fine before the screen suddenly turns black.

@@dinushaarandara I have detect the prob. My gpu is literally faulty. But thanks to your video n advices, I'm convinced. The gpu is old already (t >8years).
However, before buying a new vga, if possible, install a friend's or another vga temporarily and find out if the exact problem is the same. Otherwise, your money will be damned. Good luck.

Mchn ! Glad i saw your video , tried couple of diagnostics and signal issue was causing still, one last hope was as u said the onboard vga connecting and changing to external vga started to work after a quick reboot 😇! Do u think vga is dying? Or else is this smtng relate to capacitors

Yes.take out the cmos battery and wait 5-10 mins without doin anything 😁 after time goes insert back the cmos battery and turn on the pc ✌️ (this is the easiest process of reset cmos settings)

I have a similar problem with my asus z690 motherboard, when I turn ON the pc I don't have any white light, everything is perfect. But when I restart my pc the white light stays forever... everything works correctly, but that white light bothers me. ¿ could this solution work ?

@@dinushaarandara I only have 2 nvme disk on my motherboard (new), never gave me problems at all. Before I had another card ( evga ) and it had the same problem with the white light on reboot, I'm sure it's a bug in the motherboard.

@imvictorvasquez in my case it was a fault of HDD..replaced a faulty HDD and permanantly fixed this error.
I got amd ryzen 5 and everything works fine but the minute I put my new amd ryzen 7 in I get vga light on

Aw crap so after I got into Bios and saved to reboot for windows install I cannot get the screen to work again. Same methods.
Ok I added an extra step and it worked.
After resetting and moving the display cord from the motherboard to the video card it didn't switch over. So I just left it and restarted the pc again and it worked.

Finally I found out..one of the hard disks in my computer was faulty..I removed it from the computer about a month ago.after that the problem has not occurred even once. *check your hard disk's too..final solution.confirmed 💯

What i did, and what worked:
Cleaned ram stick.
Changed ram slot.
Cmos reset by removing battery.
Cry.
After doing all this nothing happened, so after 2 days the repair guy came but, it was fixed and i was like damn. So my advice, do the things i mentioned and then check. If nothing happens keep checking after sometime and don't be like me who wasted 2.5 days for nothing.
For me it was one of my hdd. Without the defective one the PC worked ... no more the VGA led on.

I'm having the same issue. Was upgrading my PC motherboard to Asus z690E, plugged everything in go get the VGA light on the motherboard. Plugged in my 3090ti and says the same thing. These are all new parts only for this shit to happens confuses me. I've spent all last night trying to work this. I'm going yo try this and see what happens

I removed the CMOS battery and after that DRAM and CPU LED started turned on 😰😰😰.

Try unplug some hard disks and boot up if you have multiple hard drives on your pc.it causes sometimes this error.
@@dinushaarandara I have upgraded gpu from rx570 to rtx2060. I have tried 2060 to different pc, working fine but on my pc it gives vga led. Putting back my 570 pc works fine. Currently updating bios to see if it will work with 2060.

Because everytime i turn my pc on with the monitor off, the VGA led always appear. But everything is just fine if i turn on the monitor first and then turn on the PC.

I tried everything but nothing helped. What helped at last was to reflash BIOS. It's an MSI B450M Mortar mobo. There is a "BIOS Flasback+" button on the rear panel and a dedicated USB port for a pendrive with the bios ROM on it. Dowloaded latest BIOS, formatted pedrive to FAT32, put the BIOS file on it and renamed it to MSI.ROM. Then plugged it in to that dedicated USB slot. After that I started my PC then pushed the flashback button to start reflashing. Waited 10-15 minutes until LED stopped flashing. After that I rebooted PC and screen came alive again!
