Thanks John! I hope you find one. Both older and new versions of 146 in EF are amazing writers. I do have the 1980s one, it is such a treat. Good luck. I am not sure if I'll make it to DC, but planning Orlando for sure :)
Thanks Shak for another excellent review. I personally love the new 149 and I am excited to see what else they have to commemorate this anniversary. By the way the cone, clip and cap ring are all Platinum-coated and the nib is 18K Rhodium-coated. Can’t wait to see more videos … love your camera work!
@@Shak-MD I think some people like the 146 size because of the lower cost and size but I remember loving my 146 until I got my first 149 and then it was game over for my standard resin 146 pens … the LE 146 usually weigh more so that is a different matter.
Great video! I am happy with my traditional 149. I have been using pencils lately for some reason. Maybe because I have been drawing with my kids. I love to sketch with pencils and then go over my sketches with a fountain pen. I like Lamy Safaris the best for drawing.
Compared to the dozen or so of the most recent pens that I have tried [ Including the 90 anniversary, other 100 anniversary 149s, Orient express, gold, and platinum coated medium nibs], the feedback is about the same. I must note that these pens go through human QC, and naturally, there may be some variability in the feedback. but in my hand, I see no notable difference. If I were to chose one pen that it feels most like, it would be the Orient Express 149 from last year. Either way, this is an amazing pen. I love it. Mine are out for nib exchange :) One EF and one for O3B. Hope that helps.
thank you for updating! I just purchased one from eBay second hand. It has the papers from the boutique still and looked legit based on what I’ve read, but everything I’ve read is kinda old. It will be my first 149 so I hope for the best!
Have you ever thought about getting a bespoke nib from montblanc? Congrats on your new pen. I'm happy your channel is doing good. I don't know about your wallet lol. jk.
Thanks for the excellent review. Not impressed by pen. Looks cheap with advertising on barrel. Medium nib is also sorry. Nothing special about it. Better off with the recent MB149 calligraphy nib which is great everyday writer and most important is fun to use.
Thank you. Sadly, you are not alone in that thought process, leading many to believing that there may be some more exciting stuff coming up. I do enjoy their calligraphy pens very much.
Nice Video, My Friend! I wish you all the best with it.
Thank you HJ!
@@Shak-MD The video is nice but your voice would put an insomniac to sleep within 5 seconds
That can be a good or a bad thing 😉.
Good work, Shak-Man! Thank you for your time and effort.
My pleasure! Thanks for checking out!
Good job SHAK I’m looking to purchase a used Montblanc 146 at the DC pen show. I love EF. Keep up the great content.

@@Shak-MD sorry I will miss you in Orlando, I live 1hr 45min away in Daytona Beach. I went Orlando last year it is great.

Thanks, my friend. I love it, too. Though a bit upset that they showed more love to 146 line. Perhaps that is a more universal size. 😀

You mean to say that all silver parts are platinum plated??
So interesting to see it along with earlier anniversary editions. Enjoy the anniversary year.
Many thanks!

Excellent!!🎉
ありがとうございます!149の100周年記念、検討中なので参考になりました。

You are welcome!
Thank you for this detailed review.
My pleasure!
Any noticeable difference in the nib performance, HemmingwayJones in his video says it has more feedback.

Hey I like your videos and this one got me thinking. What is your favorite pen of all time to write with? Do you like the 149 or something else?
That sounds like an awesome idea for a great video 😀 . I will start working on one. Waiting for some epic rig 😀
Nice! This showcased the 100 well. Did you have a video on how to spot the real MontBlanc’s?
Thank you! I am working on it. I want to make it good :)

Nice video! But isn’t this a 146 with the blue?
Thanks. 146s body is also Bluish. 149 only has a blue ish cap.
I gather it’s possible to change the clip to a standard platinum finish clip if one has access to the spare clip and knows what they’re doing.
I would think so. But mine are all gone for nib exchange. I'll update when I get them back.
Hi SHAK. Did you send your 100 year pen for a nib exchange? How did that go?
Yes. I got an O3b, 2 EFs, one M, one OBB, one B and going to send one for Bespoke O5B.
@@Shak-MD Thanks. And did the nibs keep the 100 year engraving?
@Harrinoz Yes. Exactly the same.
This M nib writes like an F or EF nib ? It seems a Japanese M nib.
Depends a lot on ink and the paper. This paper works very well. TR paper is okay. On cheaper paper, or onionskin paper, it shows its true wedth.

Thanks. I have always wanted an O6B. But I dont live by a boutique, and the prices make it not Kosher!
Sadly I prefer the old clip and the writing on the cap looks to me like advertising... not elegant at all.
You are not alone 😞

Too much of talking in the beginning
Hence, the chapters. I hope the rest of the video was okay. Thanks for watching!
Stainless steel? not at all ! It's platinum!!! , a piece of advice... wash your hands when making videos...
Platinum! ? I knew it didn't feel as heavy as SS.
BTW....inky hands are happy hands....
It's platinum-plated.
@sv1201 Right.
