Yes, assume Kidd can take 10 lvl 80. attacks, and his Durability is at lvl 90. But Shanks Divine Departure is lvl. 100, so while it is only about 20% stronger as the lvl. 80 attacks, Kidd can not tank even 1 at his max, as his durability only allows him to tank attacks to lvl. 90. Its simple statistics, Shanks attack was outside of Kidds durability threshold, Big Moms attacks were not.
They should just say how long it takes for a character to start taking serious damage and how long they can last in battle. Mama was said to be an iron ball to normal ordinary haki users but ryuoh like Luffy's can seriously do so much harm to them. Whitebeard has more endurance and durability as compared to any character shown in One Piece. The amount of damage he took, fought all Admirals, elite Marines, Blackbeard pirates as sick as he was still he died standing. Aokiji and Akainu were similar in strength so the battle could not have been decided faster it took 10 days. Garp on the other hand, took on the elite Blackbeard pirates captains and someone closer to Fleet Admiral level injured him and got sucker stabbed cos Aokiji said it are you going to kill your former favorite student to save your current one and Aokiji also said even if he was chained and we gang up on him, we would never beat him. High tier fighters they decide fights quickly. If they're evenly matched they don't. Garp is way stronger than Aokiji. He never tried to fight him one on one. Where as Garp soloed everyone

I would disagree because Kidd was taking a lot of damage and wasn’t being healed. If we went with ur point, say we put the threshold at 1000dmg but kid takes 900dmg three times. The issue with Kidd is his first major fights were yonkos themselves all of his attacks are impressive and dangerous as hell but their first introductions are aganist so of the tankiest individuals the mere fact Kidd was able to remotely hurt Kaidou automatically puts him on a higher threshold than pre Wano Luffy even with G4 but people don’t acknowledge that nor do they acknowledge in the Shanks fight for one Kidd got hit with the most powerful attack in the series and unlike Conquest of the Sea there was no nullifying of the damage he straight took an kings attack frok the strongest haki user alive and we seen what happened to Luffy with a weaker haki user like Kaidou also Kidd attacks writing wise would be deadly against Shanks or Zoro who have grounded durability unlike Big Mam or Kaidou so if Kidd was paired against Blackbeard he would have injured Blackbeard greatly

i really think people overblow Shanks one-shotting kidd when saying his one attack is greater than everything kidd took in wano. Shanks landed a critical blow while Kidd was off gaurd and his defenses were at 0. Goku a multiversal level dude got taken out by frieza henchman when he was caught off gaurd by an attack that krillin could have handled if krillin saw it coming.

70+ seems to be the cutoff where age really starts slowing down your stamina in one piece. Big Mom is 68 but maybe it doesn't affect her as much due to her constitution. Garp and Rayleigh and everyone else are pretty much regular humans.

We’ve seen in the story so many times when a character said if they didn’t apply the color of arms when they took an attack they would have been dead. Its just a case of Kidd not expecting Shanks’ attack so he couldn’t defend himself.
We’ve literally never seen kid cover his body in haki. Throughout the entire big mom fight he took (presumably) some of her strongest attacks head on and tanked them. So him going from tanking several yonko attacks and still fighting to getting one shot feels off.

@@macm125 Applying the color of arms simply means using armaments haki to harden ur body to lessen damage from an attack. Apoo simply covered his neck in haki to lessen the blow. Kid has never been implied to use haki to lessen a blow. We’ve seen him countless times get hit off guard by big mom and he still tanked some of her strongest attacks such as mothers misery. And ur point abt zoro isn’t really a good one. Because zoro blocked hakai with haki and got saved by law. That’s the only way he survived. He’d be dead either way if he took either hakai or Devine departure head on. Kid isn’t known for blocking or coating his body parts in haki to lessen an attack. He’s simply been shown/ implied to be a tank. He consistently walks off some of big moms strongest attacks. So him getting one shot feels off unless shanks has like 2x the AP of the other yonko.
Kid is just Luffy without the story helping him. People call Kid trash and a bad character because he puts his crew in danger when Luffy literally chooses the most dangerous route for his crew. People forget that Luffy would have gone straight from Zou to Wano if the Sanji antics didn't happen and would have attempted to fight Kaido with his start of whole cake level of power. Kid going after Shanks and believing that he has the power now to contend with the yonko makes far more sense than Luffy going after Kaido with his post Dressrosa levels of power or even his post whole cake power level.

I do think a surprise attack has a chance of being a crit. A full blown conqueror's haki attack on a non-haki defended Kidd in blinding speed. Oda really loves making the surprise attacks impactful for some reason. But it doesn't make sense, especially since Oda made a point to have Shanks confirm the Kidd pirates weren't being affected by Wano injuries.
Big Mom is a beast. Without setting up some scheme, it's nearly impossible to win against her - with some small obvious exceptions. But - BUT - the Black Beard Pirates is a very good team, they are always tricking their opponents AND fight together against them. There's always SOME level of tactics behind their play.
People need to learn the difference between durability and endurance, durability is the magnitude of attacks that will affect you, endurance is being able to keep pushing through said damage

I am a Kidd fan, I like Kidd quite a bit hes my 3rd favorite supernova (not counting Luffy or Zoro) and the disrespect he receives is so underserved. Shanks rolled up to marineford and the navy had the 7 warlords and the 3 admirals who besides akainu barely took any damage and Sengoku and Garp who were ready to fight and Sengoku immediately with no hesitation shut down the idea of fighting Shanks and his crew so did Blackbeard who was on the biggest power high in the history of one piece as of now said he wasn't ready for that fight. So why do we bash Kidd? It genuinely makes no sense due to everything that's happened, now if Kidd gets up and heals fully from Shanks but gets one tapped by someone like Katakuri or Doflamingo then he 100% should be trashed on then but in my mind he hasn't done anything to deserve the hate he gets. I think Kadio and Dark King gave us the key to Haki. Dark King told Luffy the more powerful opponents the stronger your Haki will become" is what he told Luffy and Kadio said Haki trumps everything even Devil fruits. So I believe just like when people die from a Devil fruit peoples will move on through the fruit; what if when you 🤔 defeat a powerful Haki user it increases your Haki Levels when you kill the person with the stronger Haki boosting your Haki levels like crazy. EVEN Blackbeard everyone talks about him stealing the devil fruit but what about his Haki Level and how much it increased after White Beard was killed by Teach. His name is Teach and he is teaching us the principles of Haki and Devil Fruits and what if its a lie about eating more then 1 devil theories hasn't been proven through out the whole story. Power level in ONE PIECE is based off the NARRATIVE! Character strength is meaningless because they will win or lose based off what the story needs to move forward. That’s why crocodile lost to Luffy in Alabasta, then he’s suddenly clashing with Mihawk and Doflamingo in the Best war. That’s why Law and Kidd were just suddenly given their awakening, because the story demanded it.
I actually agree with kol here. Shanks is just that nasty. Without Kid Law wouldn't have won that fight let's be real, Kid was the tank and Law was the damage dealer. They both needed each other to win.
The biggest problem with this debate of Garp vs Aokiji 1v1 is that the majority of the fight is off panel. No-one knows how that fight went down, we only get moments of it.
Kidd is not as impressive as Law, he just isn’t, that doesn’t make him weak. Kidds issue is similar to Koby’s, expectations(that and he picks horrible fights) He looks good every time he fights, good showings of power/endurance he just isn’t in the tippy top of the tiers
the problem is who they compare him to. Kidd is more of a Seven Warlord level fighter. And still even with them hes not at the top like Mihawk but he could be number 2 or 3. Law has shown feats that would put him in the Yonko Level without having the title like Shiki the Golden Lion. Kidds Metal fruit power is strong especially with the Awakening but comparing his power and awakening to like Luffy and Law are just more examples of him being outclassed. If he trained his Haki and did the Conq Haki and Armorment Haki combination training for 6 months or longer he might be a contender for Yonko then.

If he was on Egg head he’d be a problem, but 99% of the world doesn’t work optimally with his DF.

Garp never gave me tank impressions... he's more offensive imo. So getting stabbed isn't lowering him... he normally would be too fast and alert to get hit.
Kaido & Big Mom are way more durable than King, they can generally withstand & endure lot more damage without needing to rely on a gimmick. Then you got dudes like Luffy & Blackbeard that can take crazy attacks as well King & Seraphim aren’t exactly the same either. Same gimmick but Seraphim got all these other modifications too
Here suggestion for KoL, how about you list characters in term of defence / tanking ability. ignore fire power. I'm gonna be surprise if you list Shank in top 10.
The kid issue is that oda didn't give him any good writing up to this point maybe he is being saved for later in elbaf. But Shanks knew shotting Kid is not surprising Shanks would one shot just about anyone who isn't a Yonko
The exploration of Kidd needs to start with his vegapunk connection since it's obvious there's something there all of Kidd's attacks have punk in them he creates weapons like Vega and his damned punk had a number 7 on it similar to the paths of punk having numbers on them and for Elbaf this needs to be his haki bloom training arc

To me, Kidds end was a fitting one. In my eyes, he's basically a more brutish Luffy if he never found a crew who could keep him in check. Kidd doesn't have that dynamic with his crew, and that more than anything set him up for failure. The only time we ever saw Kidd collaborating rather than simply ordering ppl around, was when he fought alongside his fellow Supernova.

Plot effects all the fights you are trying to use as references for strength. Plot armor carried all these fights. Law went from losing his arm to doffy to carry kid in a win against big mom in a month. Post dressrosa luffy couldn't beat big mom, but law was cable to do it with no additional training. Yall can't have an actual convoy about this.

I believe kid did not take any acoc attack in wano (elbaf spear is not acoc) plus shanks haki potency is too high. Kid has never shown durability feats against acoc attacks so it really isn't a surprise and old beard is weaker than every yonko(except buggy of course)

People overestimate big mom and in correlation overestimate kid and law. A roof top luffy in gear 4 (ryou) out performed kid and law massively at the time. The only moves kid and law have left are awakenings. Luffy after getting ACoC was out performing his gear 4 in BASE. So to even hype up kid or law you’d have to say potency wise kid or laws awakenings would makeup the previous distance from ryou luffy and then catch up or pass base luffy using ACoC. Even if you big balled and say they are then gear 2 and 3 clear kid and law using ACoC. So if luffy using gear 2 and 3 with ACoC is over kid and law then it’s fair to say that luffy could battle field remove minimum big mom as well. Kaido is fighting a gear 4 and gear 5 luffy. So if you assumed big mom uses her ACoC more often then she would’ve been on that tier and kid and law would have lost. But because of plot she didn’t use it but just shown capable of doing it. Now if you turn it into a luffy vs big mom debate, anything big mom puts her soul into luffy can just rubberize. He’s immune to lightning, and fire doesn’t have much effect on him. Soul pocus isn’t scaring him so the only thing big mom has to fight luffy id ACOC strikes, maser canon, and arguably mother misery. And based off all the damage luffy took from kaido, none of those would either land, or do enough damage to luffy. Since a maser canon couldn’t even put down ulti and kid took mother misery and still got a final attack off. There’s nothing big mom could physically or devil fruit related to stop a giant luffy or bajrang gun level attack, along with her amnesia factor he clears her. And just to throw salt on the wound zoro would be a gear 4 ACOC level fighter. Gear 5 creating the reasonable gap between captain and right hand.

Yes, assume Kidd can take 10 lvl 80. attacks, and his Durability is at lvl 90. But Shanks Divine Departure is lvl. 100, so while it is only about 20% stronger as the lvl. 80 attacks, Kidd can not tank even 1 at his max, as his durability only allows him to tank attacks to lvl. 90. Its simple statistics, Shanks attack was outside of Kidds durability threshold, Big Moms attacks were not.

They should just say how long it takes for a character to start taking serious damage and how long they can last in battle. Mama was said to be an iron ball to normal ordinary haki users but ryuoh like Luffy's can seriously do so much harm to them. Whitebeard has more endurance and durability as compared to any character shown in One Piece. The amount of damage he took, fought all Admirals, elite Marines, Blackbeard pirates as sick as he was still he died standing. Aokiji and Akainu were similar in strength so the battle could not have been decided faster it took 10 days. Garp on the other hand, took on the elite Blackbeard pirates captains and someone closer to Fleet Admiral level injured him and got sucker stabbed cos Aokiji said it are you going to kill your former favorite student to save your current one and Aokiji also said even if he was chained and we gang up on him, we would never beat him. High tier fighters they decide fights quickly. If they're evenly matched they don't. Garp is way stronger than Aokiji. He never tried to fight him one on one. Where as Garp soloed everyone

We’ve seen in the story so many times when a character said if they didn’t apply the color of arms when they took an attack they would have been dead. Its just a case of Kidd not expecting Shanks’ attack so he couldn’t defend himself.
We’ve literally never seen kid cover his body in haki. Throughout the entire big mom fight he took (presumably) some of her strongest attacks head on and tanked them. So him going from tanking several yonko attacks and still fighting to getting one shot feels off.

And ur point abt zoro isn’t really a good one. Because zoro blocked hakai with haki and got saved by law. That’s the only way he survived. He’d be dead either way if he took either hakai or Devine departure head on.

But - BUT - the Black Beard Pirates is a very good team, they are always tricking their opponents AND fight together against them. There's always SOME level of tactics behind their play.

Shanks rolled up to marineford and the navy had the 7 warlords and the 3 admirals who besides akainu barely took any damage and Sengoku and Garp who were ready to fight and Sengoku immediately with no hesitation shut down the idea of fighting Shanks and his crew so did Blackbeard who was on the biggest power high in the history of one piece as of now said he wasn't ready for that fight. So why do we bash Kidd? It genuinely makes no sense due to everything that's happened, now if Kidd gets up and heals fully from Shanks but gets one tapped by someone like Katakuri or Doflamingo then he 100% should be trashed on then but in my mind he hasn't done anything to deserve the hate he gets. Power level in ONE PIECE is based off the NARRATIVE! Character strength is meaningless because they will win or lose based off what the story needs to move forward. Kidds Metal fruit power is strong especially with the Awakening but comparing his power and awakening to like Luffy and Law are just more examples of him being outclassed. If he trained his Haki and did the Conq Haki and Armorment Haki combination training for 6 months or longer he might be a contender for Yonko then.

He has to prep before any match to get the best out of his fruit, which is why I always believed it would have been a bad time if he’d been in Law’s place. If he was on Egg head he’d be a problem, but 99% of the world doesn’t work optimally with his DF.

Law’s awakening is just about more damage, whilst kid can completely pin down yonkos with his df, which law can’t+ high damage, sorry but kid’s awakening has a lot more to it than law’s.

Kaido & Big Mom are way more durable than King, they can generally withstand & endure lot more damage without needing to rely on a gimmick. Then you got dudes like Luffy & Blackbeard that can take crazy attacks as well

The exploration of Kidd needs to start with his vegapunk connection since it's obvious there's something there all of Kidd's attacks have punk in them he creates weapons like Vega and his damned punk had a number 7 on it similar to the paths of punk having numbers on them and for Elbaf this needs to be his haki bloom training arc

To me, Kidds end was a fitting one. In my eyes, he's basically a more brutish Luffy if he never found a crew who could keep him in check.
Kidd doesn't have that dynamic with his crew, and that more than anything set him up for failure. The only time we ever saw Kidd collaborating rather than simply ordering ppl around, was when he fought alongside his fellow Supernova.

Plot effects all the fights you are trying to use as references for strength. Plot armor carried all these fights. Law went from losing his arm to doffy to carry kid in a win against big mom in a month. Post dressrosa luffy couldn't beat big mom, but law was cable to do it with no additional training. Yall can't have an actual convoy about this.

People overestimate big mom and in correlation overestimate kid and law. A roof top luffy in gear 4 (ryou) out performed kid and law massively at the time. The only moves kid and law have left are awakenings. Luffy after getting ACoC was out performing his gear 4 in BASE. So to even hype up kid or law you’d have to say potency wise kid or laws awakenings would makeup the previous distance from ryou luffy and then catch up or pass base luffy using ACoC. Even if you big balled and say they are then gear 2 and 3 clear kid and law using ACoC. So if luffy using gear 2 and 3 with ACoC is over kid and law then it’s fair to say that luffy could battle field remove minimum big mom as well. Kaido is fighting a gear 4 and gear 5 luffy. So if you assumed big mom uses her ACoC more often then she would’ve been on that tier and kid and law would have lost. But because of plot she didn’t use it but just shown capable of doing it. Now if you turn it into a luffy vs big mom debate, anything big mom puts her soul into luffy can just rubberize. He’s immune to lightning, and fire doesn’t have much effect on him. Soul pocus isn’t scaring him so the only thing big mom has to fight luffy id ACOC strikes, maser canon, and arguably mother misery. And based off all the damage luffy took from kaido, none of those would either land, or do enough damage to luffy. Since a maser canon couldn’t even put down ulti and kid took mother misery and still got a final attack off. There’s nothing big mom could physically or devil fruit related to stop a giant luffy or bajrang gun level attack, along with her amnesia factor he clears her. And just to throw salt on the wound zoro would be a gear 4 ACOC level fighter. Gear 5 creating the reasonable gap between captain and right hand.
