Why is king dumb? Because his durability got overtaxed by someone who is argurably a top 15 type of combatant who just awakened a power that only like 4 to 6 people can use ? Alot of People in the one piece community look at fights and don't understand it. For instance people saying king is as durable as kaido
This is 100% false. King durability the imperial flame is a clan ability , a clan ability that drains stamina.
This means when king runs out of stamina his ability to use imperial fire also goes. King zoan durability is not really that much higher than opponents zoro has faced in the past.
For instance zoro had to evolve his sword techniques mid fight to be able to cut Daz bones. Daz bones is made of steel , it literally means zoro has been cutting opponents as durable as king since pre timeskip.
The issue with king is zoro did not know how to deal damage until zoro figured out king clan ability.
Thats all there is to King, its as simple as that , king speed is nothing zoro or luffy can't handle.
Finally someone says it, Zoro was catching King WITHOUT future sight.
Kaido bodied Luffy multiple times without future sight. Luffy was being pressed by Yamato without future sight. Speed triumphs future sight.

Kaido bodied Luffy when he wasn't using future sight but then when he was calm at the roof he dodged the same attack with future sight in his base form, Katakuri scales to snake man speed that made Kaido in need to use future sight to keep up with not base Luffy or boundman lol, Zoro was reacting to King speed with normal observation. Katakuri fell on his back because his future sight activated of Luffy going gear 5 and he thought to himself I’m too old to fight something so ridiculous( his energy is built different.)

- Katakuri stopped using his sticky attacks in the fight, mind you that his first sticky attack vs Luffy he couldn't free himself from it without Jinbei help, why did he stop using it in the fight? We saw that Luffy even with gear 4 he couldn't free himself from the sticky mochi, Katakuri hit Luffy so many times he would've simply used another sticky attack and killed Luffy
- Katakuri low diffs Luffy with his awakening but after that in a 10 hours fight he didn't use awakening again!! He could've easily used it again and killed Luffy who was fighting in his base. On the other hand we got Doflamingo that was allowed to use awakening for 2 rounds and Kaido that is allowed to used thunder bagua every minute, why? Because they're not nerfed
- Katakuri stopped using his trident that can punch holes in his opponent body which is the highest damage a character can do. Why did he stop using his named beloved weapon? I wonder why, i would love to see Kaido stop using his weapon or Zoro stop using his swords in a fight, i'm sure that will be a perfect excuse for them but Katakuri? No, people seem to not care enough
- Katakuri stabbed himself vs a mythical zoan which is hilarious when you think about its so unfair
- Before Flampe interfered in the fight, Oda made Katakuri look like he's struggling but how do you even do that Oda when Katakuri could've put Luffy down so many times if you allowed him to use his full power like buzz cut mochi, sticky attacks and awakening. Kaido was allowed to use thunder bagua left and right but for Katakuri its not allowed lol, instead he was making punches from his awakening and wait for Luffy to learn future sight when he could've blitzed him so many times, Luffy couldn't tank more than 1 buzz cut when he was in snake man, if he got hit by that in his base he would've been long dead.
Conclusion is that Katakuri was only allowed to use like 40% of his power he wasn't allowed to use awakening or spear or his strongest attacks, but he still destroyed Luffy. I honestly enjoyed that fight but that fight was so stupid, if Oda wanted to make Katakuri this strong just don't nerf him, instead make Sanji and Luffy 2v1 him like Law and Luffy vs Doflamingo that would've been way better, or simply don't make him fight at all.

-He didn’t stop using sticky attacks, Moochi by nature is sticky there’s more attacks you can argue are sticky then aren’t. And the buzz cut mochi attack he used on snakeman was sticky was confirmed to be sticky by luffy himself, that’s impled to be Kat’s strongest attack and that couldn’t put luffy down and he used it on him twice.
-He used his awakening several times against luffy it wasn’t just once lol. He used it to stop him from going into gear 4 prior to the merienda. One chapter later he uses it on gear 4 luffy after the merienda and continues using it the next chapter, he’s using it in Flampe’s introduction, he’s using it after flampe’s interference before he realized she interfered and after prior to snakeman.
-He stopped using the trident because none of his attacks with it landed except one and the only reason that attack landed was due to flampe. And katakuri himself says missing all these attacks with the trident was stressing him out and we know if he gets too stressed, he can’t use coo so he discarded it and used awakening and other attacks. With Kaido and Zoro it’s never been the case were their weapons just don’t work on their opponents.
-The only reason he stabbed himself was because of flampe had she not been there luffy wouldn’t have been stabbed and katakuri would’ve never been stabbed, both characters were nerfed due to her, and both kept fighting after. So, there’s no advantage on either side.
-Well, the problem is he did use awakening and sticky attacks as outlined above. Buzz cut moochi is the strongest attack he showcased and no character throughout the entire series has used their strongest attack until closing parts of the fight that isn’t specific to katakuri you can make that same argument for most villains, if Kaido used flaiming dragon torch all the supernovas die on the rooftop, if Doffy used God Thread against luffy and law they would’ve died if lucci used Rokuogan on luffy in water 7 or before he went gear 2nd luffy would’ve died. Even the thunder bagua example you used, though that attack is 100% stronger than buzz cut moochi it is by no means Kaido’s strongest attack it’s his weakest named attack in base and hybrid form that’s why he spams it. He wasn’t waiting for him to learn future sight, he gained his respect absolutely towards the end but he 100% was trying to kill luffy well before that and said as much. He tanked 2 buzz cut moochi’s in snakeman lol.

Not all Yonkos are on the same level, given that Shanks was able to take Kid out in one hit, something Big Mom failed to do in an entire fight. The same goes for 1st commanders, Marco is definitely more powerful than Kat, Ben Beckerman is likely as strong the O.G admirals, and Rayleigh is strong as Yonkos and Admirals yet being a 1st commander. Katakuri's portrayal is way clear of King's, King was portrayed poorly, Marco was handling him and Queen at the same time, Perospero who's not even a sweet commander and weaker than them was portrayed to be equal to Jack, if we scale like Oda wanted to here's what we have

Cracker = King > Queen
Smoothie > King > Queen
Katakuri > Smoothie > King

The strongest argument for this is the fact that Luffy is the one who faced Katakuri and still only drew against him. Katakuri is the commander that Luffy KNEW he had to beat to prove himself.
WCI Luffy gets underrated but he also forced Big Mom to use Haki to defend herself. His power was no joke, and he powered up several times against Kat.
When character like Crocodile can come back and look strong, it’s easy to see how Katakuri is meant to be above King.

King in his speed mode couldn't land a single clean hit on Zoro's body and Zoro was reading his moves with basic observation haki, even his speed mode ain't saving him from Katakuri who has future sight, he wouldn't land a single hit and his durability will not be active, he'll lose to Katakuri mid diff. I think you overestimated King in the video for thinking this fight would be close.
Same thing with Marco, King with Queen was losing to Marco and wasn't able to keep up with Marco's speed which means he needs his speed mode vs Marco as well and Marco can easily damage him in his speed mode.

King imperial flame is an active ability meaning if drains stamina to maintain. When king runs out of stamina his imperial flame cannot work. King also has displayed poor stamina,
King was the aggressor in his fight with zoro and still managed to run out of stamina before zoro , despite enma taxing the living hell out of zoro. Despite zoro using conqueror haki coating and balancing enma haki tax
King has displayed poor observation haki , and low battle iq, when king disables his flame to attack zoro he instantly gets slashed from zoro and can't even defend against zoro.
Compare that to katakuri who figured out how snakeman works and was trashing luffy after 2 hits from snakeman. Katakuri us superior to king in every regard

Ontop of that the same luffy whom is now scaled higher than Kat needed assistance fighting Kings clone and made it clear that the seraphim (whom are using kings ability) are so durable that it reminded him of kaido. The same luffy with FUTURE sight needed assistance as well as zoro telling him what the seraphim weakness are

Heres my 2 cents. King has better durability, for sure. And that is something that’s not easy to get around. However, I would argue Kat DF gives him more versatility and he showed way more finesse and skill where king is more of just a brute. Add on Kat’s future sight and the ability to adapt, he could arguably take the win. Allow me to offer a small scenario:
King = takes no damage from kat’s attacks
Kat = confused
King = frustrated that he can’t touch Kat due to future sight, turns off the flames and increases speed
Kat = uses future sight to eventually adapt/counter kings new speed, realizes he can do damage with no flames
All I’m saying is, In a drawn out battle, Kat wins. But if king doesn’t play around, he wins. It could go either way.

King is also much faster than kat is AND has alot more AOE so he should be able to hit kat eventually, and when he does it is going to crumple kat. Same with zoro, zoro could speed past kaido, and we see kaido speed past a gear 4th luffy, gear 4th being faster than kat.

I think King vs Katakuri is an extremely tough fight. King has better regeneration powers and durability which is further enhanced by his zoan powers. But Katakuri has better haki feats overall. King has a special race, Katakuri has a "Special Paramecia" and Conqueror Haki. When it comes to speed, they're probably on par. But only when King's flame is out. I suppose it would be a back and forth. King blocks everything when the flame is on, Katakuri dodges most attacks. If King tries to disarm him, Katakuri will use Conqueror Haki and push him away. When King uses his Beak, Katakuri counters with his Mole Attack. When King attacks with his Gatlings, Katakuri blocks the bullets with his jelly beans. King has the advantage in the air but I think Katakuri would just create mochi wings and fly as well. King's Magma, on the other hand, would burn all the mochi.

The level of disrespect toward Katakuri is unbelievable. This is the same guy that Luffy needed serious plot just for a draw after getting his ass kicked 95% of the fight. Kings has no advanced observation haki, no conqueror's haki, and the inferior devil fruit. The only way King even has a chance at landing a hit on Kat is possibly in flame off mode when he's vunerable. Someone as crafty as Kat would easily use this to his advantage and end the fight with a Buzz cut mochi or spear

When I made my first comment, I didn't realize how firmly KOL is situated in separating the anime from the manga, or being unable to analyze the pretty effects away from actual capabilities, which basically stay the same (unless you count making an impressive lightshow as a feat in itself, however not for fighting). I simply have to disagree with the - common - misonception that the anime changes or can change the tiering.
I never was different with my acknowledgement of King's very high strength (overpowering Zoro directly several times) and of course insane durability. Zoro can ALSO cut through King's pretty effects in the anime, mind you. There is no difference.
KOL being a head of the church of the anime (without any disclaimers or self-awareness) and of Katakuri seems at odds a bit... Those are polar opposite extremes in logic or lack thereof, both too simplistic.

I’m gonna debunk you so fast.
When gear 4th luffy and kaido first fought. Luffy used future sight while kaido didn’t. Kaido still blitzed luffy and one shotted him, he then told luffy that even if you have future sight, if you lack the speed to dodge in time then it’s useless. That’s why his future sight was at first ineffective. Now we know zoro was able to blitz and dmg a hybrid kaido. The same Zoro who was struggling against king because of his durability and overall speed. Eventually after becoming king of hell he was able to fight through king’s attack and finish him. So we know for certain that Zoro in terms of strength, speed, and haki is superior to post wci gear 4th luffy. Who is stronger than Katakuri 100% since towards the end of Luffy’s fight with Katakuri he was considered an EQUAL while he was exchanging punches with a base mode luffy, and eventually was taken down by base mode luffy. So overall Kat’s inferior to Zoro and King in damn near every state besides observations haki and maybe armament, but that doesn’t matter if he’s too slow to hit them.
It is a wash. And not simply because King is stronger. His flames straight up ruins Katakuri. It's a confirmed fact that even basic fire is Katakuri's weakness and that it hardens his mochi. King doesn't even have to be faster than Kat. The moment King starts spamming his magma-like fire, Kat is at a huge disadvantage and will hardly be able to move. This isn't an opinion. Kat gets demolished by King and also current Sanji due to their advantage.

Kat was displayed as so fast in Whole Cake. Everyone in Wano is way faster than that. Luffy got speed blitzed by Kaido when he one-shot him. Luffy trained and got faster but still was almost speed blitzed by Kaido on the rooftop even when using future sight. Zoro didn't have this problem with Kaido's speed on the rooftop but had a bit of an issue with King's speed. Kat was portrayed as super fast because that's how fast he was compared to the main character at that point in the story. The story moved on.

@@SyncWaveyPlays7124 It's strong ofcourse. But that's really it. It can be defeated if you're fast enough, and it's not enough to put Katakuri over the other commanders. Marco has insane feats almost no other character in the series has and is basically immortal, and is fast enough to speedblitz Kizarus attacks, has shockwave attacks that bypass durability. Kings defence is insanely OP, so the only chance Katakuri has is to wait for him to turn his flames off, but then King becomes a lot faster that might be faster than Katakuris future sight.
