the fact people think that kid would go and join the straw hats or buggy is crazy to me. the man willingly sat in a cage in kaido's territory because he refused to serve kaido, his best friend became a smile devil fruit eater because they refused to bow to kaido, but the man loses to shanks and all of a sudden he and killer are willing to bend the knee to buggy? I would legit rather see kid become a gecko moria 2.0 that uses his magnetism to make metal soldiers who will make him pirate king. If he serves anyone its a betrayal of his character, at most I could see him and killer surviving to be part of the final war but more as begrudging allies like crocodile was at marineford.
Why? Kid also completely gave up his aspirations of defeating Kaido which was out of character….. used team work with Law, Luffy and Zoro which was out of character as well. At this point anything can happen because Oda has become less and less consistent since Wano.
His ship being destroyed and losing his rubbings makes it a whole diff story
@@KyubiCloaks yeah it changes where he might show up and does effectively take him out of the running for KOTP for the story, but that doesn't change his character to a point he'd suddenly bend the knee to another pirate. could he potentially develop to a point where he did? sure. However, so far that isn't something his character would be willing to do as it has only been 1 arc since wano and he was very adamant about still competing with luffy for KOTP when they decided what routes they would take. personally if anyone is joining the straw hats (or grand fleet) of those defeated it's law. he has already been established as willing to work with them, Luffy helped him achieve revenge on doffy (saving his life) and we see bepo carrying him away somewhere and they'd be one of the first groups bepo would look for to help law. We don't even know what happened to kid and a character change that drastic would feel rushed, Oda is a better writer than that.
Kid's awakening was the worst thing to happen to him, dude really thought he could skip haki class. Law has better haki, better fruit, better fruit mastery, and a more realistic end goal. Kid awakened his stupid ass magnet fruit and thought he was gonna damned punk his way to the throne. What was he even going to do to shanks after sinking the ships?
NEVER let him forget the Garp slander.
But Garp eventually got bodied…by a character who wasn’t going all out 😅

Lol not to mention BB’s original crew along with Devon wasn’t there, so NO he did not fight an entire yonko crew…

Saying Shanks is a parallel to Roger doesn’t make sense when Luffy is the kid that Shanks himself sees Roger in as well as all the last great pirates…..
It annoys me because you dudes are really starting to act like Roger isn’t the Michael Jordan of One Piece, Tom Brady, Sugar Ray Robinson, Tupac Shakur. Someone will eventually surpass him but he’s the one that paved the way for ALL OF THESE GUYS!!!

@@jamesonedwardsii4943 It's not that Shanks IS the modern parallel to Roger, it's more that Shanks COULD be that guy but he's intentionally sandbagging for whatever reason, because he knows something we as the audience still don't about getting the One Piece to become King. Right now his portrayal shows him being, if not on par, then just barely under what Roger was in his prime, at least in terms of strength.
I hope the gap between top tiers isnt too crazy and its just different matchups. Kaido and big mom hit hard and were absolute TANKS but i think people like shanks, mihawk, dragon etc. Arent as durable but also have crazy AP attacks and speed. Id rather not have it be "oh his haki is just stronger, and his even stronger, etc" that type of power creep is so boring and just boils down to who hits harder

Kols point isn’t really too valid at all. If shanks and kaido had a serious fight or a proper altercation, shanks would not have made it to marineford or even made it unscathed. That would’ve been an extreme diff fight. I’m sure whatever run in he had with kaido was more an understanding between the 2 or some politics. It’s literally common sense.
Shanks has not shown any defense achievements yet. Big Mom and Kaido have.
Kaido fought 8 scabbards + Luffy + Zoro + Law + Kid and Killer and Yamato = 14.

I think Shanks talked to kaido to wait for luffy or the new generation. He probably told kaido that luffy is joyboy and to wait. Especially since oda said king was there and kaido has talked to king about joy boy.
That's probably the Narrative and dialogue for sure great theory, but do we see a clash or not Is the big question for scaling purposes
@@user-er5or7sj5fyou can’t use a clash to scale. The fact shanks came marineford at all and unscathed shows they never got into a fight. They definitely had some sort of negotiation before hand. Not a single member of the crew was harmed so no they did not fight cos that would’ve been extreme diff.

Doubt that Shanks told Kaido about the Joyboy stuff. Kaido only realized that Luffy is Joyboy when he got bajrang gunned into the magma. Before that he just wanted Luffy to work under him. There are 0 implications that Kaido knew anything about that. He didn’t even knew about the devil fruit.
Kidd and luffy are like one in the same. Kidd is literally luffy if luffy didn't train for two years. i am willing to bet if those two were to meet again, he would see the gap between them is so far apart, and starts focusing on haki more. Kinda like Vegeta and goku.

All this talk about Shanks is interesting because in that Kaido skirmish we’re told it’s Kaido and King vs Shanks and his entire crew. At Marineford, Shanks is with his entire crew saying they’ll all fight. Even in film red when Kizaru & Fuji abandon fighting it’s because Shanks is there with his entire crew. Shanks is insane no doubt but we have to contextualize things. Even Greenbull says he doesn’t want to fight the red hair pirates. He didn’t mention Shanks alone. Even if Greenbull was as strong Shanks, why would he fight Shanks and his entire crew?
We know how Oda has built up Shanks’ crew.
Greenbull one I can’t agree with nobody who’s as strong as someone is screaming in pain beacuse of their haki. That is just showing that Greenbull is no match for shanks at all
Narratively he surpassed Kaido since his conception.

Kidd was hard carried by others in Wano. Law did the heavylifting against BM, Kidd only knocked her down and even that didn’t damage her. Put him in a 1v1 against Kaido, he wouldn’t be able to do half of what Luffy did even without his gears.

My thoughts when it comes to 1v1 between Shanks and Kaido against the supernova is that Shanks dont play when finishing his opponent at a fast pace due to his Advanced observation haki while Kaido on the other hand tends to not take them seriously because in his mind, he cannot be damaged and killed. But if Kaido wanted to like Shanks, he couldve ended Law and Kid just like Shanks did to Kid at Elbaf.
Law's fruit places him above Kid. Law does not need to Stockpile Metal to be at his Strongest.

KOL Is objectively one of the worst powerscalers in the community. His claims make absolutely no sense and this is the perfect proof of it.
I mean how did he break Big Mom's arm? Mass matters in One Piece. And metal has mass. Metal's portrayal is usually very strong in the story. Consider how many punches it took Luffy to break that big iron slab at udon. Or how the General Franky can go toe to toe with one of the strongest Tobiroppo. I think when the Iron Giant shows up, we'll get to see a true top tier metal opponent. That thing looks like it could tank a point blank nuclear explosion.

it was never stated that King can only be damaged through the use of advanced conqueror. In contrary, King can possibly be damaged without haki at all, when his fire is off.
It's not about haki, it's about catching King in his vulnerable state. The first time Zoro used an advanced conqueror attack, king took no damage because he was in the invulnerable state!

This dude really thought Katakuri was beating a monster like Kizaru who was on par with other monsters like Akainu and Aokiji who fought each other for 10 days straight. Same Akainu that tanked Whitebeard's full power quake punch *TWICE* Garp also overpowered and speedblitz this same Aokiji and fought him with a massive sword hole from a Shiryu sneak attack stabbing.
Question!? Because you do respect shanks! And I imagine you respect the other yonkos? How would you order the yonko in strength? Then tell me how close and far they are by like the measurement of inches 1-12 inches. Then tell me how would you rank all the admirals from akainu to green bull(yes this does mean akoji) same thing tell me how close or far they are. Then tell me how would you rank Garp and Rayleigh amongst these current day nukes. Because personally I see the yonko, old men, and admirals close in strength but it’s whether or not one can beat the others.
Which Top tier did you see Kizaru beat in Two Piece? Over here we now got a few pages with him fighting Luffy! Luffy was Shown battling Kizaru in Snake Man. Pretty sure Katakuri can also battle him because of this.

I mean it’s not shanks hate, but think about it. Kaido said multiple times that there was no one capable of beating him and the only person that can do that was joyboy. So even with shanks and Kaido fight, Kaido respected shanks but still came to the conclusion that he’s not joyboy either.

I think Kid and Law will make a comeback by combining their crews. They're might be a two captain situation where both Law and Kid are the captains and Killer is the right hand for both making sure there is balance and reasoning between them. I would probably see it as Law as the captain and Kid as the right hand but both of them are too stubborn. They'd probably make it two captain crew. I do see them somehow contacting each other via snail to reflect on their L and let their frustrations spill. We'd probably see them back towards the end when the final war begins. They may be another opposing force the strawhats may have to face before going for the One Piece or EOS.

The problem is we have nothing confirmed for Shanks in terms of combat prowess. We know he’s strong, but we’ve only seen him use one attack in the entire canon, and it was one of Roger’s. We can assume we’ve seen everything that Kaido can do, so this entire argument is speculative. As of right now, we have to assume they’re at least matched, or kinda is just more worn that Shanks if Luffy was able to take him down, but I also think Shanks wouldn’t have tried to take Kaido out at all, since he seems to value the world balance. It’s tough , because also maybe he would have tried to avenge
Oden at some point, but also we have to remember Shanks is still a relatively newer Yonko only being recognized for 4 years, so there’s a chance he wasn’t ready before too. Could explain why he had the Gum Gum Fruit in the first place, maybe he knew what it truly was and wanted that insane power. Nika has to be a top tier devil fruit, it would help explain Luffys insane progression rate and how he was able to take Kaido down.
I pray that Kaido and Shanks get a direct 1-1 comparison in power, soon. The narrative seems to put Shanks above him, but the issue is that we have ZERO showings to prove that point. I think Shanks and Mihawk surpassed Kaido. But I doubt that the gap's that high. People seem to forget that powerscaling isn't linear. For example: Shanks has the better haki and speed feats but Kaido's durability, physical strength and having DF powers closes any gap from them.

It just doesn't make sense to make Kaido the single most powerful opponent Luffy will come across before the end. Though Kaido probably is top 5 in the show all-time in 1v1's. Prime Roger, WB, Xebec, and Shanks (as mentioned/seen by Kaido) are all roughly equal or slightly above him. But the biggest thing is how people are perceiving this argument. Shanks doesn't clear/gap Kaido (that's what people think when you say Shanks > Kaido when it's not that), it's just extremely close but Shanks edges Kaido due to Haki diff. It's not that hard to understand. Just wait until we see Shanks go all out during the end game content because it's going to happen lol.
Also narratively, Shanks is roughly equal to Mihawk, or at least it's also extremely close BECAUSE ODA SAYS SO. Shanks and Mihawk get so disrespected for no reason in this story when they both are CLEARLY some of the FINAL hurdles for Luffy and Zoro respectively. Once Luffy surpasses Shanks, it'll likely be because Luffy will become the greatest Haki user. Once Zoro surpasses Mihawk, he'll be the greatest swordsman of all time and likely #2 (or #3 depending on Koby if he's supposed to surpass a Prime Garp at the end of the story to mirror Roger/Garp's rivalry. Though I do think it's still more likely that Zoro stays over him.) in the verse after Luffy because narratively that's how it should turn out.

How I think about it, Luffy beat Kaido in a very close battle (Luffy contributed like 95% to this fight compared to everyone else) and Luffy is probably going to fight Shanks in the future as he said he’ll have to fight all the Yonko to be king of the pirates. So if Wano Luffy beat Kaido, and he gets stronger after each island, then Shanks will have to be much stronger than Kaido to defeat Luffy.
