    Hey guys. I bought a YJ sahara from Mt Zion back in 04 or 05. It was grate. Now I'm in a 2 door jlr with a 4 inch lift. Nice work. I highly recommend front control arm drop brackets for control and steering issues.

      Right on! That's awesome, and you're absolutely right above about a 2" lift the drop brackets will absolutely make a huge difference

    Turned out nice. In reading the specs you list for the wheels I don’t see mention of backspace needed for the Metalcloak outboard shocks? I’d like to know how close the wheel/tire are to the shocks, fenders, etc.. I’d like to run the Trail grappler and the 38 is a 13.5 I know it’s always a trade-off trying to keep the wheel and tire as close as you can to the ball joints and still not rub. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Good stuff. My JLUR is on Fabtech 5inch (actual of 4.75 inch height) springs on 38X13.50X17 patagonia MTR's but I'd like to try these tires next in a 13.50. My build can be seen on my first video on my channel jeepNdirt. I agree, a 38 is a do all tire size. I also converted to metalcloak everything else and what a difference. The high misalignment combined with the front outboard shock mounts really allow for maximum articulation.

      4.75" is pretty tall for a JL, how do you like it? We did not measure the actual height gained from this kit but a 3.5 seems pretty tall especially with the gutted flares and high clearance inner fenders. The 38s are such a good size, though the Milestars you currently have may actually measure a little taller than a Nitto. On our balancing machine these measured 36.75"

      @@MountZionOffroad agree, 4.75 is tall but I like the up and down travel. The 13.50 width tires along with the offset make it proportional astetically .
      The biggest pro for me, is the breakover angle, and the articulation with the metacloak control arms and shock offset bracket.
      I'm also running metalcloak rear DB3 control arm lowering bracket and WOW what a difference in ride, stability, and flex.
      Take a look at my video from AOP on my channel for a better look.

      @@JEEP-N-DIRT That's awesome, it's all about maintaining a balance of ground clearance and stability!

    I have the same jeep and I’m thinking to run this lift kit but 2.5, one question with that lift kit you installed (3.5) did you change the front driveshaft? I heard above 3in need to change the front driveshaft

    Love the content and your enthusiasm for building these rigs!!
    To run these 38” Nittos, what do you recommend for us JKU owners to optimize the axles to handle them?

    • @MountZionOffroad
      @MountZionOffroad  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Some commenters say Mike is yelling but it's honestly just enthusiasm bleeding through! We definitely recommend a re-gear, drive shafts, and RCV or 4340 Chromoly front shafts. The rear shafts in the JK are pretty stout, but if you really want peace of mind, a set of 4340 Chromoly shafts in the back axle is never a bad idea! TORQ Masters Industries makes a set that come with bearings pre-assembled and the price & quality is pretty hard to beat

    It’s beautiful! What’s the highway speed since it has such a high differential gear?

    • @MountZionOffroad
      @MountZionOffroad  7 місяців тому +1

      It's around 2300 RPM at 65 and theoretically would still be well under 3000 RPM at 80 MPH in 6th gear

    Your Description above says 4:88 gears, But in the video you say 5:13's. Which did you do?

    • @MountZionOffroad
      @MountZionOffroad  Рік тому

      Thanks for pointing that out, it’s been corrected. This one got 5.13. The white 392 was 4.88’s and happened at almost the exact same time, so it must have gotten confused in the description write up. This Jeep has a manual trans and the 392 has the auto of course.

  • @sweetteassouthernadventure2983

    So what did y’all put on the Jeep besides the wheels and tires? I want to buy it for my 2018 JL

    The Jeep looks really nice. Me and my wife ordered a 2023 2 door Rubicon. What is the estimated costs for the suspension, wheels and tires?

      Probably around 10k

      Thank you! If you're interested in having us quote your project please give a call. There are a number of services we provide on every build such as 4 wheel alignment, headlight aiming, and proper speedometer and TMPS calibration. The current cost of the wheels, tires and lift kit is around $9000 for the products only. Keep in mind we also re-geared the axles, upgraded the steering, diff covers & axle shafts and performed the aforementioned services.

    Did you adjust to prevent "death wobble"?

  • @HTSS8

    What's missing is key information for the build material used. Should be muscle memory to state for every time displayed.
    I.e. the full wheel/tire specs. Make a cue card if you have to with bullet points.
    Tire: 37x12.50r17, Weight, Load/Speed Rating
    Wheel: 17x??, Offset/Backspacing, Weight, Load Rating
    Based on the sidewall bulge, it looks like the 17's are not the most common 8" wide, but more like 9". Those liking the build choices would need to know every reasonable detail and just some key things are absent.

    is the brakes just gravity hanging ? no care for the lines i guess -_-

    • @MountZionOffroad
      @MountZionOffroad  2 роки тому +1

      What point in the video are you referring to the brakes hanging on the lines? During the work, the tech has the calipers hanging on hooks, and when we flexed the Jeep at the end we had longer brake lines installed.
