Hey, I enjoyed your video. I'm an original 05' owner and just now rebuilding the transmission with 215K on it. Engine will be next as she's getting a little tired. I'll never sell this car and I've had numerous offers over the years. I love it! I'm a past 3 & 5 series BMW owner who got tired of there BS and stepped into this Baby and I've never regretted it.
    Cheers & Blessings!

Greatest recalls left open ever on mine until I took it in for inspection at a dealer. Ended up replacing fuel pump, module, also new brake lines all around. Not bad! Thanks GM! Was 15 years old. Storage wouldn't take it with open recalls while I was overseas. Right around 150K miles on mine now.
Crazy the rarity of these but also the crazy high miles most have. You can't help but drive them!

I'm 21 now, picked up a V with 3 accidents and 115k miles for ~$14k 2 years ago at 19. Was a really bad impulse buy from a mom and pop dealer and I definitely got shafted. Yet I still can't decide if I fully regret it or not. There's part of me that wants to go full crazy and go through the whole car and fix everything. Save up for the creative steel diff, fix all the grounding problems and broken electrical crap, replace the shit infotainment yet find a way to retain the DIC, fix up all the wear and tear on the interior. But I'm having a lot of paint problems and a small rust issue due to the previous repairs. I hate that I love this car, because it's painfully obvious it's a giant money pit. Yet it impresses me everyday I drive it, and every little mod makes it feel even better. Really wish I had a cleaner example, because now I can't imagine having anything else. I'd love to compare notes on weird issues, I've got some suuuper fun ones 🙄

I bought an 05 V for $10,000 and literally put $9,900 into the clutch and engine.
      The car is unreal.
I still need/want the CS rear end and supercharger but trying to hold off and put that $ elsewhere.

Nice. I've had my 2007 V1 for nine years. I've done front shocks; all brake pads; front rotors; two water pumps; three radiators; evap solenoid; signal stalk; plugs and wires; oil pressure sensor; coolant sensor; and starter motor - all in my driveway or alley, but for the starter motor. These cars are so easy to work on and so much fun to daily. I might supercharge it one day but I'll likely go for a crate engine so as to stay N.A.

Good advice, I got some stock suspension from a guy through that website. One thing to check on these engines: get an inch pound torque wrench and confirm your intake manifold bolts are torqued to 89 inch pounds. Most of mine were about 20! Smoke machine showed smoke coming out of the intake gaskets. Cleaned the bolts, loctite 243, followed the service manual torque sequence, all good now. Idles smoothly and pulls noticeably harder.@@PerformanceOnWheels

You’re in MN? I’m in SE MN. Once I have my flex fuel sensor and my 6th port aux fueling and zl1 pump in my ats 2.0t we should line up! I was going to install it this weekend, but it has diff leaking. Should be covered by shops warranty so it’s hopefully going to shop instead of goodies installed. It will eventually have forged internals and bigger turbo making 450wheel. My car is 3300 lbs with even the parts I have it will be over 300 wheel and mid 4’s 0-60

The diff changed very minorly... there's 4 generations of the diff. My car gas the second gen (they all suck) but yes minorly better. I'm unaware about the electrical issues. I've heard they are all bad. Things to look out for? Engine and transmission should be nothing to worry about at all. Honestly I'd just make sure it's been taken care of and check out the overall quality of the car just go into it knowing there is going to have to be some bushings and stuff replaced

@@PerformanceOnWheels ended up buying and driving it back ten hours. Awesome car for sure! One thing I noticed mine has that’s questionable is some minor steering wheel vibration/shake only around 60-70 mph. I’m guessing this is just a simple tire balance. My other question is the shifter knob seems to shake side to side while engaged and driving in any gear and any mph more then any other manual car I’ve had. Is this something you notice as well? Other then that everything works and drives perfectly smooth. The car is all stock ls2 100k miles well maintained by one owner.
