Its hard to be in my 50's with Ronnie gone.. R.I.P to the GREATEST ROCK VOCALIST OF ALL TIME!!! I miss you RONNIE!!!
He was A-ight but Ozzy Rules… but nonetheless RIP Ronnie😊
Ronnie was in class by himself. Saw him 3x in DIO. The ability of Ronnie to adapt and find fluidity with those sabbath members says a lot about Ronnie and the members of Sabbath. It was meant to be, and I really miss Ronnie too 😢
Easy there…greatest? My first concert was Dio, great show, but not the greatest
@mickeywhite7878 everybody's gotta have one, though :)
I missed seeing Heaven & Hell in Dallas right before Ronnie fell ill. We had just seen Rush at The Toyota outdoor venue and passed The Hard Rock with H & H on the billboard. Should’ve went down and seen it.
A Heavy Metal gem. This album marked a turning point in my life and is the reason I still play guitar.

A service to humanity and a credit to mankind....💥🔥 DIO 🔥💥
thank you very much.
The hero we needed
Never mind the thrash trash, HEAVY DUTY METAL AND THE BEST BAND to do it with.
I have been listening to this album for 33 years now. I would have easily got rid of wishing well lady evil and walk away, and I wish I shared a joint with BS angels
A heavy metal masterpiece in my opinion. . Not one bad song off this great album. A solid fuckin 10. . With outstanding guitar work and guitar solos. Awesome lyrics. . Pure fuckin gold here. . The metal god. Ronnie James Dio. . 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Remember buying this album. I was in my local record store as a goofy 18 year old! Flicking through all the vinyls! Next thing this album came on through the stores pa system! Wow I thought. Who the hell is this!! I asked the assistant and she said it was Black Sabbaths new album. Heaven and Hell! I bought a copy straight away😀 Still play it to this day and I'm 59 now 😎
Im 59 too. We had the greatest music experiences for sure !! *blessings to you and family
I'm 59! In '79 I heard the Cars Candy-O in the store's PA and bought it on the spot. Back then, I was a super Christian boy and wouldn't dare think of buying a Black Sabbath album. If I knew then what I have learned through life, I would have bought that album instantly. Peace out my fellow fifty-niners... and yes, we did have the greatest music!!!
You're never too old for good music.
Rony james did agreat job in this album!

This and Blizzard of Oz, being released that same time, was simply mind blowing.

I agree 👍
Dio, much better.
RJD clearly has far more range and a more melodious timbre, but I've always preferred Ozzy on vocals when it comes to Black Sabbath. His voice just fits the whole Sabbath vibe a lot better in my opinion, it blends perfectly with their ominous tone. RJD is definitely an amazing singer, but for me Ozzy is an intrinsic component in the overall Sabbath sound.
Yes, Dio is the superior singer.

Black Sabbath was great, but talking about Dio, what a singer, no autotune, no digitalized stuff, just pure talent.

It's a really good album, but he is no ozzy 😢
@@vitocorleone1742 I disagree i do love ozzy very much but dio is another level and he took the band to the next level even if it was only for a short period of time. My opinion both are Mazing artists.
Ronnie said when they played together it was magic. Wow what a masterpiece!
The song heaven and hell is incredible!
Dude, Israel forming was more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Nobody has the answers. Just live life.
Iommi's work on Lonely is the Word, is some of the finest arrangement, playing and emotion in rock history.
The whole Iommi's stuff in every song of this album is just a thing of Gods.

Gosh, yeah, he sounds like Alex Lifeson at some points....!!! Goose Bumps...!!!!
The fact that 42 years later we're talking about this album shows what a musical masterpiece this is. One if the best albums in history and all genres. What a gift Ronnie is to the world. And with the original Black Sabbath is absolutely phenomenal! Y'all have exquisite taste in music! Bravo!
Same goes for, say, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Lead Zeppelin, J. Hendrix....to name a few.

Lonely is the Word is the strongest song on album, and one of Sabbath's all time greats by any lineup! Saw tours for Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules and they were phenomenal!
Heaven and Hell is the first record I play when youngsters want to get into Metal. I know there are better known and more famous ones, but this Sabbath is the perfect example of how 80's Heavy Metal sounds. Teens get hooked right away and will never quit from being Heshers.
Respect and Metal! 🤘🏼
My friends and I went to the Roxy in Hollywood when Mr varney was first starting his metal promotions. There was like 15 bands. None of them had a real song line up. I think there was 20 people in the audience. Got to see a lot of unknowns...slayer, king diamond, Metallica with Dave mustaine and cliff Burton. Betsy from bitch comes out in a leather teddy and started giving buttons to anyone who would kiss her ass. That was the start of metal. That was the first time they opened the Roxy in 25 years. The next day we got to Lizzy Borden in a high school auditorium..

And that transition sounds even better in live!
One of the most brilliant bass work on this album all through out! The bass player is killing it
"The bass player" lol
YEAH - He's a bit of a Geezer, all right!
That Gezzer is an inspiration to us bassist. He is the "Anti- Root Note " bass player that gives the instrument versatility.
Geezer, Steve Harris, and Lemmy with his unusual bass playing technique are the three greatest metal bassists in history......l
You know who are the bass player, don't you?

I remember listening to this album over 40 years ago and it was as amazing then as it is now.
This is a top five all time album - absolutely flawless in every way.
First heard this after a grueling football practice in High School and was blown away by the riff lines and blended change ups intermixed with the bass lines in Neon Knights. I bought the album a few weeks later off a fence in school who got them really cheap and wore out my turntable listening to it, it still holds up 40 years later. A very powerful and emotionally charged album. DIO will always be one of the best lead singers in the metal genre.

But Dio came along and saved the day hats off to the guy what a voice .

It's amazing the feeling of Bill Ward's drumming
Exactly,,, one of the top 5 skin players of the 70s !!!
Heaven and Hell
Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker
So it's on and on and on, it's heaven and hell
Oh well
The lover of life's not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming
So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell
I can tell
Fool, fool
Oh uh
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion
For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on and on and on and on and on
They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It's heaven and hell, oh well
And they'll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It's heaven and hell, oh no
Fool, fool
You've got to bleed for the dancer
Fool, fool
Look for the answer
Fool, fool, fool
best album ever, title track is the best song ever written
One of my top 3 albums. Can listen to it over and over again. Memories.
I'm reading Dio's autobiography. I've loved him from the first time I heard the power of his voice.
Knowing how he just KNEW he and Tony Iommi were meant to work together the moment he heard what would become "Children of the Sea" makes this record even more special.
One of the greatest albums in HISTORY
This is what I call a perfect album 💿,, Musically and Production wise a masterpiece 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I can't describe how much this album means to me.
Talk about two amazing talents finding each other at the right time. That opening one - two punch of "Neon Knights" and "Children of the Sea" is just massive! Highlighted by the soaring ecstasy of Ronnie's vocals and Tony"s thrilling solos. Pretty tough to beat
