My Ram 1500 has a hemi engine that misfires occasionally. Sometimes, the engine light comes on and goes off. It usually misfires when I’m going uphill or at higher RPM.
Fairly common issue,. Most likely a failing ignition coil or just the boot on the coil where the spark is arcing through the boot under a load. I would read the codes to narrow down which cylinder is missing then swap the coil with another cylinder & see if the problem moves to that cylinder. Thank you for watching/subscribing...
1)Change Cam shaft position sensor. 2) Springs breaks. 2004 recall on springs. 3) Complete Induction system cleaning. 4) Injectors. 5) Use Shell premium only. 6) Use fuel injection cleaner in Fuel every 90 days. 7) use the best (most expensive) scam tools.
2012 5.7 poblem Is almost the same ihave a misfire on cyl 8. At idle it runs okay but sometimes misfires when in the throttle. Bad cylinder/piston ring?

I know I'm a year late but. My 2004 ram 1500 5.7 (millage unknown as they put a new motor in that had 160xxx km on it) I did have a code for a multiple/random cylinder missfire. The truck only missfires in the morning and the code it gone now, I can have it warm up and it'll continue to act up but once it sits from 6am to 930am and the sun comes out it no longer has any missfire and doesn't act up again until the next day. I'm assuming it has to do with the cold air at night and moisture I'm still trying to diagnose any advice would he helpfull. I'm still going to diagnose like you are showing in the video

I had a misfire on #7 on my Jeep 5.7. Was getting the misfire code & the check engine light and it was running a bit rough. Mine turned out to be a vacuum leak. I had to replace my camshaft & lifters about 8 months ago. After that it was running great til about a month ago. Then the timing chain broke and warped some valves. Just repaired all that and got it back together. Thought I was in good shape til the misfire. At least it's just a vacuum leak. Thanks for the great video! 👍
Where did You have a vacuum leak ?? I have a similar problem but no codes only o live data in Jscan Odb, I see I have a couple missfires only about 2100-2200 rpm. Only In 7 cyl , when I try drive in this rpm then it's counting about 10missfirs on 8 miles trip. No codes, No check engines. I try Injectors swap, coil swap, and pcm change always 7cyl. @@Kabanabak My leak was at the #7 intake. It had a faint hiss, that I wasn't hearing, but my wife and a couple of others heard. I sprayed carb cleaner around #7 and found it. I called it a vacuum leak, but it was sucking air at #7, because my intake gasket had been pinched in two (unbeknown to me). Sounds like you've checked most everything. If no check engine light is coming on, wonder if there might be something wrong or weak with that cylinder itself. I'm surprised you haven't gotten a check engine light. I know it's frustrating when you have to do so much through process of elimination. My darn Jeep leaves me stumped and scratching my head often. My wife swears the thing is haunted. Thank God for my scan tool, or I'd be pulling what's left of my hair out.
I’m gonna try this method to search for a leak. My truck randomly misfires most only on cold starts after sitting all night. And stops after I drive it a bit. Some times get 10-30 misfires in a matter of minutes on cylinder 6 watching live data on a Diablo sports trinity 2. But no codes and no check engine light. But I can hear the subtle misses while it’s doing it. It’s an uneven idle until it warms up then it’s fine.
Dude, that maybe the issue for my 2004 ram 2500 5.7l. I changed everything, except the injector.. holy cow you may have helped me with this nightmare code p2305 code..thank you VERY MUCH
Thank you for watching/subscribing. You can certainly run injector cleaner through the fuel tank. That may help if injectors are dirty & clogged (or a repair shop can professionally clean them). If the injector is failing electronically then cleaning will not help.
All depends on how you take care of it my room is still running strong it's a 07 ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 4×4. This has been the best truck I've ever owned compared to my Ford and my other 4.7 ram. 256,000 mi and still going strong

I’m getting a miss fire on number 3. It has a somewhat new coil pack and 2 new spark plugs. I guess I’ll check the injectors. If that doesn’t work. Then what ?
Hi, thanks for watching/subscribing. If swapping coil, spark plug & injector does not cure the misfire then it may be a mechanical issue with the cam & lifter. You can remove the valve cover to confirm no lift on that cylinder. In some cases PCM can also be the culprit causing an injector/ cylinder to misfire.

I have a code P0303 on misfire on cylinder 3 i change the plugs not coil can somebodh help me.

These engines are junk, thousands of them have these issues

It can also be a dropped valve seat in the head. I have seen a few 5.7L hemi but more common issue on the 4.7L. Was the engine overheated?
Mine is a p0303. Replaced plugs coil Pak and fuel injector. Still there. Anyone wanna buy a good truck? No shavings in oil.
