Not necessarily. 4 cyl the center cylinders were getting just enough fuel but the furthest cyls nos 1&4 were not. Fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator fixed that problem
I have a P0303 on my Pontiac Grand Am. Changed the fuel filter, swapped ignition coil, and was trying to replace the fuel compression valve but decided not too lol it was too hard to take off so I gave up.
While it is always advisable to try the least expensive fix's as possible first, they are not always successful. On a 2011-2013 F150/Mustang Coyote 5.0 you will often get misfires on the drivers side bank. I would always suggest putting in new plugs and swapping coil packs from non misfiring cylinders first, even changing the coil pack connectors and pins. Once this has been done though, its time to consider other possibilities that are quite a bit more unpleasant. The next logical step is to do a manual compression test and a leak down test. These 2 tests will tell you if you have a piston/ring problem or a Valve problem. The 2011-2013 year model Coyote engine is well know to Burn piston rings and Burn Valves due to erosion. On a normally cared for and driven vehicle with 130,000 + miles, it is most always going to be a burnt or eroded valve. There was a defect in the materials that the valves were made of that was changed late in the 2013 model year. These defective valves suffer from erosion where they contact the valve seats. This reduces compression and over time as it gets worse will eventually misfire and throw a misfire code. At this high of a mileage it is usually recommended to replace the entire engine. However this can also occur on lower mileage engines as low as 50,000 miles. In that case it is acceptable to rework both heads with new valves and have the valve seats recut. Currently Ford does not have these engines available as long blocks, but are available in the aftermarket. Just do your research on the company and check the Better Business Bureau rating before doing business with anyone. engine replacements costs are generally in the $5000 range for the long block and another $1000+ for additional wear parts depending on mileage and $2000 installation labor. Prices vary widely depending on your service provider though so get multiple estimates.

I have a 2022 Honda Insight 1.5 liter with 58k miles giving a persistent code P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. I have cleaned spark plugs and moved CYL 3 plug to CYL 1, moved CYL 3 ignition coil to CYL 2, cleaned fuel injectors and moved CYL 3 injector to CYL 4, cleared all CEL error codes using my OBD2 scanner. The P0303 misfire problem stays at CYL 3 even with original spark plug ignition coil and fuel injector all moved to different cylinders. I'm completely at a loss as to what could cause this misfire, I've thought about maybe dirty fuel filter but I would think this would effect ALL cylinders and cause misfiring, not just ONLY on CYL 3. The rough idle and misfire ONLY happens while the engine is cold first start of the day, after the engine warms up for 5-10 minutes the misfire goes away.

I have a question about the P0303 error code. This code denotes a misfire at cylinder 3 but I found a website that states that a common mistake people make is that the P0303 code is referring to the third cylinder in the firing order, not cylinder number 3. The article states: "P0303 is a cylinder specific misfire code, which means that Cylinder 3 is misfiring and causing the code. An important thing to understand when finding the location of cylinder 3 is that it's going to be the 3'rd cylinder in the firing order of the vehicle, and not the 3'rd cylinder that you might see when looking at the engine." My 2006 Mercury Montego has a 3.0Liter v6 with a firing order of 1,4,2,5,3,6. The third cylinder in this firing order would be cylinder 2. Do I have a misfire in cylinder 2 or 3? This is a great question that I wish I knew the answer too. Thanks to you ima ask my mechanic tomorrow when I go to the dealership. Glad you brought this up.

Hey i had washed ur full video. I have a P0301 misfire in my 07 mazdaspeed 3 and i did changed all my spark plug 2 months ago, and i did test my coils and they r good.. i have the p0301 and my mazdaspeed is shaking too.
After you washed his video ... These are your words main man. Anyway im sure after you washed his video it was no longer veiwable especially if you used soap as well as the water.... WTF..? Or were you sippin on the old cough medicine bottle.
Had the same code 303 I changed out my spark plugs still the same .check engine light keeps flashing and my car idles a lot . Any help ?
Somebody help got same problem
Same problem
I have an infinity g35 P0303 and I’ve changed my coils packs (OEM) and sparks ⚡️ Ngk. This didn’t fix the problem :/ any help ? Good looks man
If it was the coil, you would have most likley thrown a p353. Did you get this fixed?
@@falsedragon33 it’s actually down right now my guy . I don’t know what’s wrong it . It was over heating on me a lot and every ride I would stop and turn off the car and take off the radiator cap to relieve the pressure and put new water . Literally did this every ride. And it just wouldn’t turn on one morning so it’s been sitting since. Shit sucks
@@searchdaone8130 oh, that sucks. Hope the heat didn't get to the cylinders. Wish you the best. If you ever dare to tackle it, I'm more than willing to help as much as I can.
I got this code and i change the coil, but still the problem is there. Do u advise me to change the fuel filter and fuel pump? merceds glc300/ 43k milage. Thanx
One idea, if it helps. Start the engine at night, look to see if there is any arcing at plug wire number 3 or whatever wire the scanner mentions. If number 3 cylinder misfire, then dont go buying things but check that one wire first---------number 3.
@@bennygreene1421 Thanx bro for ur reply. The issue was with catalytic converter. The filter was damage. I change it. Issue solved

Hi there holden cruze petrol 2013 very bad misfire code p0303 #3 cylinder take out spark plugs 4 off them all black and dirty replace new one and have same problem all 4 spark plugs black and dirty only 10 seconds start car any help thanks
I've changed everything already, Coils, Sparkplugs, rewired new coil clips since I had broken ones, changed new MaF Sensor not cheap, cleaned filter, made sure intake box is sealed properly and I still have codes P0300, P0303, P0352, P0353, I'm so stressed out this is my only car to work and for winter I need to fix it but audi or mechanic will charge me up the ass, I'd rather do it my self! One thing I will mention is when I rewired the coil harness where all the ignition Coil wired are tucked in (harness cover) I broke that trying to open it so yes even tho my wired are rewired right my harness is open and wires are exposed, did order the new harness cover, could that be the cause of all these codes? Or did I connect something wrong I doubt it Im sure I rewired everything right! My only option right now is to order a new fuel filter.. I need help guys 😒, By the way this is for my 2010 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0t I4 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Do a compression test you can rent a compression tester from autozone and check what the compression is supposed to be if it’s to low then the problem is internal if it’s good then maybe it’s a fuel injector or evap leak or somethin stupid
@@andrewdamico3787 Alright just got the tool today from Amazon will be doing it tomorrow on my day off, let's see what comes up
90s Kid look up what the minimum compression should be on your car it’s different for every car
@@andrewdamico3787 I will thanks man!
Did you get it fixed?
Thank you great video
I had a misfire on a 2010 Tucson change out 4 spark plug and 4 ignition coils car crank but won't start crank shaft sensor came up then I un hooked the battery and rehooked it and then the camshaft sensor came on scanner so now I have 2 sensors in and i'm gonna change the coolant sensor too I don't have many friends but I have one to help but those sensors on finding them is heck had to beg people in a Hyundai form to get 115 pictures of everything under the hood these sensor are my last try and I don't know I did this far and got a friend to help I hope it works
What ended up happening lol
Thx bro. Great vid. Great scanning equipment
My Mercedes Benz Smart 2003 model not starting engine but my CX232712 detector showes no error what should I do?
I have a po301,302,305 random misfire
Would a car scanner be able to diagnose a dead cylinder?
Don't know about that. I found this code from an OBD2 scanner
No I bought new coil for all four cylinder and 4 new spark plugs checked wires and vacuum leaks but nothing
my car only has a miss when it is cold but once it is warm later it dont miss what do you think
oh and my car is a 2001 chevy impala
Intake manifold haskets.
misfire can be caused also by timing (toothbelt jump, bad service change of timing belt,...)and bad compression .... (like foreign object taking space from cylinder, like carbon deposit if its too much ,etc...),also video is not about "simple fix" you are intelligent guy use correct words ,otherwise good video man
Which one is the third cylinder???
I have change the coil but still the misfire
Can that make you have no oil pusher and not START
I have a 2019 Hyundai Accent and I replaced all my spark plugs but still have p0303 & p0304 misfires on fixd & my car shakes
Did you check your ignition coils?
@@codacreator6162 yes! It wasn’t that :/
You lost me when you said it can be a fuel filter. That causes a random misfire. Most vehicles since 07 have no inline fuel filters.
find yourself someone who knows and works on cars , vaccum leak, valve guides and seat , loose wire harness bad coil or grounding wiring to mention a few possibilities btw common sense not always apply when it comes to this modern headaches I mean cars lol wait till they go full electric lmao be safe
@@zacariasblanco9738 funny how you think electric wouldn’t be half the headache as gas cars 🤣
@@5300trilla you got it all twisted boss but ok
Is this problem something your warranty should cover
I just had mine fixed its malfunction fuel injector
My GLC 300 cylinder three is misfiring and my car vibrates while the car is on 😢

I have p0303 p0420 p1415 codes but I think fixing the p0303 will also fix the other codes
Thank you
I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe PPV and im getting a P0303 code, autozone said it was saying that my fuel injectors needed to be replaced. I thought it was because of some bad gas. I ran the gas out and refilled and added some fuel injector cleaner a few days later it came back on. I called the mechanic and told him what was going on and said it could also be the lifter going out. Could this possibly be tge problem?
I had a cylinder 3 misfire, replaced sparky and still had a check engine code.. IDK confused
Did the car drive better or the same. ? Did u get it fixed ?
@@TroyFortune_33 I ended up changing all of my spark plugs on my 2004 wrx and that did the job! the car drove a lot better
I got my 4 all changed today. And instantly the car was back to full power, I’ll change the four coils in the week. The spark plugs I think is just a cheap fix….
@@TroyFortune_33 Most definitely and honestly make a big difference. An overall better feel of the powerband
What could this mean on a GMC ENVOY. Anyone had this issue? Thx
Just changed the plugs and #3 had two cracks in it but didn't fix the issue...Dang it
Congratulations excellent video!
Wow, not one mention of the ignition module. Smh
Oreillys has coil packs for 50 bucks btw..
Awesome! Thanks for the tip!
Bullshit try 189
great video - thank you for your help
Thanks!
Not sure why a fuel filter or vac leak would cause isolated #3 mis fire.
I’ve never seen prices like your saying on any of the parts. I don’t drive a lambo.
Replaced coils plugs wires fuel injectors ICM did all this then find out have low compression cylinder 3
@@anthonyjudge667 not sure think it was rings or something just got rid of the car never dug into it
Audi is shit
Im getting antifreeze from my intake to the cylinder
Just got my 2010 Corollas engine replace that had 130k miles cuz of this problem . My step dad to who’s a mechanic got me a 2014 engine with 25k miles for 1500 and Oml I love my car so much I was going to trade it in for a new q50 but now I just wanna keep it and save more of a down payment to still take out the other part
