Excellent brake down
+Danny D Morales Thanks for checking us out! 1aauto.com
@@1AAuto I own the same exact car just a 2013 and u work on this model and it's very informative and appreciated, keep up the good work and videos
I see what you did there, Danny. I hope the pun was intentional. Lol
I want to start doing a lot of the maintenance on my rogue to save a few hundred dollars a year and this video has showed me that I can probably do the breaks as well. With your video and hopefully a written guide of sorts I will most likely do my breaks myself. It surprises me how much of the vehicle maintenance can be done by the vehicle owner.
+Ryann Large Thank you for the great reply. We love to empower our customers by showing you how-to perform your own auto repairs while installing our high quality auto parts. Have a great day! 1aauto.com
Pretty straight forward job. Brake lines on mine blocked removal of one of the slide pins on both sides. Thanks for sharing the tip on using the multiple open ended wrenches to remove the "stuck" slide pins. I never encountered that until this vehicle and I'm glad I watched the video first because I then knew what to do. Thanks!
+Craig Valois Thanks for checking us out!
Thanks for the how-to! I'm glad to see my Rogue isn't the only one with rusty parts...
I can't tell you how amazing your videos and company are for helping me work on my vehicle
Putting grease on the sliding pins will cause them to seize inside their bores. Always use silicone paste, instead. Grease will also eat away at the dust boots because its petroleum based.
On a 2016 Nissan rogue do you need the scanner to sync the brakes ?
Beautiful work man! So informative very thorough 👍
I just bought pads and rotators from 1A. I installed oriented the pads as you demonstrated. I noticed the old pads were oriented with the wear indicator downward. But I installed them with the wear indicators upward as you did. I just failed state inspection.
The pins/screws that hit the brake line really close when coming out, mine seam VERY close and I am scared to pull it out. I don't want to mess up the line. Should I worry about this?
Same problem here. The brake line is directly in front of the pin/screw. Ratchet wont even fit. Also the screw is starting to strip from me banging on it not being able to break it. My hands are busted and I'm fed up after only getting one screw lose. 🤭🤬
What do you mean when you talk about brake grease? My store doesn't have it. Can I use multi-purpose grease or silver anti-seize in its place?
you can use high temp grease. but silicone high temp grease is best. don't use anti seize inside the pins.
the little clip for brake wear is not mentioned but seen- where does this go????
Is there a video of you doing the brake shoes for that same vehicle.
Thank you for the inquiry. We do not have a video for the 2009 Rogue, but have one for the rear drums on a 2014-2019 Rogue. It can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/6XsM0jyIbzM/v-deo.html +Danny Dominguez
no spray ?
I recently replaced the rear brake pads on a 2016 Rogue and they are still squeaking. Checked the rotors, no sign of warping or grooves. Any suggestion what to check next?
+sliscotti86 You may want to pick up some anti squeak from a local parts store, this will more than likely fix the issue you're having.
No torque specs on the caliper bolts
Those should be tight and firm, but don't snap them. I've seen a guy brake them off. The caliper bracket bolts are the ones to really torque down hard, they're bigger and I've had them come loose. If low torque is an oil drain plug so you don't strip a magnesium oil pan and high for wheel lugs so your wheel doesn't come off, I'd call caliper bracket medium-high and caliper bolts low-medium.
I really really love you're vidéos!!!! you explain so well every steps of the process of every job, you should make a lot more vidéo.thanks so much
+philippe brousseau Thank you for your positive feedback! We are happy we could help.
Is it the same for 2014 pathfinder?
+malhotraj1 It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
Anyone ever brought rotors from them? Are they decent quality 🤔
I've seen alot of how to videos and this is the first I've seen where they slather everything with grease. Makes me wonder what's right and what's wrong.
@tyvek05 I was thinking it was excessive. You're probably right.
Great video, I had the same concern. Any uneven build up of grease between the hub and rotor will cause that pulsing feed back in the pedal and uneven rotor wear. It’s okay to put a little on, especially right where the rotor touches the hub alignment collar but wipe almost all the grease off the hub surface before installing the rotor. I’ve become a believer in coated rotors and and drums here in the NE
Excessive amounts of grease lol first thing I thought 😅 in dusty climates this would go south real quick
You want to grease all metal faces on the pads and piston face to prohibit seizing
Are all the bolts tighten right, and loosen left?
On this planet, yes.
@@barnyardstory lol their are some but very few reverse threaded bolts
You're an auto supplier, and don't have an extra rubber grommet around.
broke the heads off the caliper bolts. joy
same here ,, warning, I drilled it and installed a reverse thread extractor in the vice ,,it wouldnt budge. So I heated it to help loosen it. well BANG!!! The snapped off pin exploded straight up ,hit the ceiling, and landed on the work bench. It sounded like a gunshot,,eye opening moment. Be aware, stay safe.
johnny d we had a guy take the guiding pin to the knuckle , not something you want to happen to you so when heating up the guiding pins aim then to the floor. He got 8 stitches!
