Excellent play by play including the "oops" that sometimes happens with the clips. Very well done and thorough. Thanks so much for your efforts in making this video. Now I will try!
Appreciate taking the time to record, edit and upload a video on this subject.
I would however like to point out a big safety concern -
You should never jack up and put the jackstands on moving parts, especially part of the suspension that is made to move around. Use the frame and correct lifting points to keep the car rock solid (and safe to work with). Worst case when doing a brake job is most likely not fatal and should simply smash the car in the ground (leading to more repairs), but if someone is to be working under the car safety is crucial.
So glad I watched this, actually thought had to screw in the rear calipers!
Great video, thank you!
Hey what’s going on brother Great video you just need a tripod Thank you have a great day..👍
Great video man
Great video
Nice video... a few comments. First, when you look at approx the 14 minute mark you can see that your piston seal is not quite right. Not sure if there is some air in there or what, but that can be problematic, especially if it gets pinched between the pad and the piston where it bubbles up over the piston a bit. Second, you removed the caliper and caliper bracket together. This makes it harder to get that new hardware in place, plus you cannot clean the caliper too well, especially where the hardware goes. Additionally, you ended up not cleaning and re lubricating the caliper pins. You should also torque the lug nuts down properly, for that vehicle, that is approx 80 foot pounds.

An issue im having. The rotor seems to be loose enough but it's not coming off. Im worried it might be the ebrake. Its released but it might need adjusting.
I do not recommend trying to adjust the EBrake. Ensure that your ebrake is released. You would be surprised how a little brake dust and grime can seem to hold this rotors on. Perform the steps as shown in the video. It takes a little bit of persuasion but they come off.
Excellent, Thank you!
So changing the back pads is very similar to a front pad change on this vehicle???? No special tools are needed??? I hope so bc my rears need to be replaced and I don't have funds to bring it to a shop......I should be able to do this fairly easily from home correct???
Yes. Very similar to the front. Older cars sometimes have more difficult rear brake assemblies. However, if you have ever changed front brakes, the rear brakes on this rogue are almost exactly the same as a normal front brake job. If you follow the steps in this video and make sure you have all of the necessary tools you definitely can do this yourself at home.
Arriscando foder o abs e o cilindro mestre, forçando o pistão sem abrir a válvula de sangria.
In other videos they grease the clips and pistons for the caliber
Yes, this is done to lubricate to prevent having noisy brakes. In my experience if everything is clean and you do a good job the brakes do not typically make noise.
First of all it was a nice video. No need to add brake fluid, right? Also, during the compression of the caliper piston, I would assume the brake fluid reservoir lid stays off, right? If you could have someone hold the camera a little more steady it would greatly improve the quality of the video from the viewer point of view. Great Job, thank you!
JOHN KONTOGIANNIS, yes. Just check your reservoir before and after to ensure you do not have to little or too much brake fluid. If you have to much you can just use a syringe to get it out after you complete the job.
@@bullseyenate231 Does the lid remains off during the repair work?
JOHN KONTOGIANNIS, yes you can take it off while you are pushing the caliper pistons back.
Does pushing open the piston with the c clamp damage the abs module due to reverse flow??
Klownguy22, no.
Where you get your parts at man?
The parts in this video I purchased from O’riley Auto parts. Depending on what it is I will normally hit the local auto parts stores. It’s quick, in stock and close to home. However, if I am change something very integral I will usually purchase those parts from the dealer. Not things like brakes and rotors though.
@@bullseyenate231 thanks man!
Dude why dont you put the phone/camera in a fixed position. Im getting whiplash, geeeeeeezzzzzzzz
Uh you had the jack stand under the lower control arm. That's going to flex up and down with pressure. Not necessarily a good jack point.
would have been a lot easier if you took the caliper off the mounting bracket. the pads and clips would be easier to replace as well.
CALIPER BOLTS FRST COM ON
Well intentioned video but so many concerns.Remove the pins to clean and grease them.Piston boot not fully seated. didnt adjust emergency brake. Didnt tighten wheel bolts with a torque wrench and likely overtightened them with cordless tool tnat may warp rotors. Also didnt file off the rust under the clips.
Suggest watching a real mechanic doing it properly like jimthecarguy or sma to learn.
Bad video... you can't be skipping the most important parts... I didn't see how you took off the caliper... smh
