A couple of things: 1. I don’t understand how this 360 camera works. The 360 panorama shot you included with your promo at 2:22 seems to have your normal front view from the chin bar when facing forward, but seems to somehow separate itself from the helmet when looking back at you riding. Like, how? And 2. It might (emphasis on MIGHT) be a cool idea for one of your vids, or maybe even a single trail or trail portion from within one of your vids to have a side by side shot of what the camera sees while looking forward and a simultaneous backward looking shot at yourself to see how your body adjusts to the different trail features. Just a thought inspired by that 360 panaroma shot in #1 above.
1) The camera uses two wide angle lenses to capture footage in the front and back, then the algorithm 'stitches' the two images together seamlessly. Sometimes you get little glitches along the seam line, but in this case it worked flawlessly. 2) Not a bad idea! Maybe I'll give that a try.
Hey @ddangerousddave I noticed that you have the Float X - For my enduro bike I've really been tossing up between the X and X2. But it seems to handle a E-bike on gnarly trails, do you feel like you have it dialled in? Because it seems like if so the X is a better option.
I'm not much of a suspension aficionado to be honest. The X2 works great when it works, and has more adjustment options, but the past few model years have been very unreliable. Both my X2 shocks for my Spartan had issues right out of the box. Fox's warranty has been good, but it's a pain to have to do it in the first place. The 2024 models are said to be better, but time will tell. The X has been ok on the ebike, but the extra weight of the ebike makes the suspension feel very supple off the top so it's not always a great comparison.
@@ddangerousddave Thanks mate, it's a tough choice - My Megatower 2 came with a select+ and it's pretty terrible!, no compression adjustments only rebound, there is no way to get it feeling nice on up and down. My 38 grip 2 I have HSC wide open, I was wondering if the extra weight and settings was worth it.
I checked the teeter from the bottom when I was pedaling up to make sure it was structurally sound so that wasn't blind. Otherwise I think I looked at all of them, except for that ladder bridge drop with the flat landing which nearly cost me. That was a very dumb move to be honest.
I took up mountain biking three years ago, and that was the biggest surprise: how tired your hands get absorbing the impacts (wee little impacts in my case)…. In fact I couldn’t even make it through a single trail at first, though it probably didn’t help that I’m sure I was gripping way too tight. Over time it becomes less of a thing as you get better, loosen the death grip and your body adjusts. But the way Dave rides for sustained stretches I’m sure the wrists and hands get good lactic acid build up.
It's like trying to hold onto a jackhammer haha. Between braking, holding on through bumps/compressions and actively maneuvering the bike, it really takes a toll on the hands/forearms!
How do you like the ebike? I rode one for the first time this Summer, and was impressed by the climbing, but found it very heavy on the descents. Do you notice the weight? Would you buy one over a regular MTB if it was your money? Thanks!
I love having an e-bike as my second bike. I generally use it when I'm tight for time, want to self-shuttle on solo rides or just want to explore more of an area than I would be able to on a regular bike. That being said, it's a bit of a quantity vs quality thing because of the weight. As you found out, they're not as playful and take a lot to move around. If I could only have one bike? Definitely a regular bike. For a second bike? Definitely an ebike.
Do you ride clipped in Dave? I’m on the fence 🤔I’ve rode flats for years but it’s one of those rare times when my mtb shoes and pedals need replacing at the same time, really can’t decide
I ride flats on my MTBs and clips on my gravel/cyclocross bike. With clipless you get better pedaling efficiency, you're less likely to slip a pedal going through the rough stuff, and it frees up your body position/weight distribution/timing a little bit because the effort you normally put in to making sure your foot stays on the pedal can be used for other movements. That being said, I feel safer riding flats, especially when riding features or when I need to bail off the bike in an emergency, and flat pedal shoes are also just more comfortable.
@@ddangerousddave thanks for replying Dave, always enjoy watching your vids👍 nice one for the advice I’ll take it on board when I decide which way to go. stay safe and keep up the good work 🤘
Usually blind, but I'll stop to look at most features. I checked out the teeter totter from the bottom since I could see it from the road on the climb up.

Dangerous dave chose to have a dangerous day
Dangerously fun tho
i just love how you can hear his joy while he is riding. Also this is a sick video
Best chuckle on UA-cam.
I always look forward to your videos.
So humble So skilled so fun to watch🔥🔥
Powell River looks rad! Might have to plan a full on Sunshine coast trip
Wow… the Level Boss was just chucking trees at you like spears - well played!
man I have to get out to Powell River
I have friends that ride sick trails like that. I never could as I’m not coordinated enough like that. Very impressive.
WOW 👍👍
I love watching you ride! Thanks for the videos!

What does that make me then???😂
the compression at 5:57 was MASSIVE! Way to keep it stable after that one haha
Thankful for days in the gym on that one!
This terrain reminds me of home.. Love it!
Se disfruto, se disfruto!
Más videos de estos, its amazing!
That trail looks so fun, i would ride it but my butt and legs would be killing me after riding that on my hardtail
It is eerie watching the bike accelerate in the woods under power
Goin hard Dave...as usual.
Amazing trail

idk why but the explanation into 'nose wheelie' just had me laughing
What a super nice trail 🤩 .

Enduro, e-bike, gravel bike and trials bike

I find it crazy how you pretty much go into every feature blind and you are riding alone!

Awesome video epik trail
The video doesn't do justice to how big that first teeter totter is.
The middle part of this trail looked relentlessly down hill, so I was surprised you had to stop to shake your hands out!
I think it’s probably more from the shaking and bouncing. Tires out your wrists and shoulders from all the shock absorption.

YEAH DANGEROUS DAVE IS ON FIREEEE TODAY!!!
How big is the battery on your E-Troy?
725wh. I haven't done a formal test, but I think I can get about 14-1500 meters on a single charge climbing in boost mode.
Hey Dave, out of curiosity - what is your handlebar width and rise and is it different between mtb and emtb?
I run 760mm bars with 30mm rise on both bikes 👍

wow ! that's unreal. are you using trail forks to find these amazing trails?
The area has dozens of trails on tail forks, including the ones shown here. These trails are on Mt. Mahony, up Haywire Bay FSR
Dave giggling on sections where I'd be crying, praying, and "shitshitshitshitshit"
do you practice the trails before you ride or is this all blind?
Usually blind, but I'll stop to look at most features. I checked out the teeter totter from the bottom since I could see it from the road on the climb up.
Does 5 seconds of introduction talk "Well that's enough chat for now, lets ride some bike"
Dave, what is the model of the computer on your handlebars? Thanks!
That’s the display for the shimano motor that tells you speed, mode and battery life, etc. I haven’t tried a bar mounted GPS-style unit yet.
@@ddangerousddave Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up. I had assumed you were on a non-electic bike.
That is the perfect eBike application. It still seemed plenty playful, too.

From the title I was expecting a Samsquantch sighting
i feel like you're going to run out of names pretty soon and you're gonna have to start calling the trails by their name in the title xD
Coming up with new titles is one of the worst parts about UA-cam. I just want to use generic numbered titles 'technical double black trail #54'
