As a native Oregonian, the trees fell there and they built around them. The Pacific northwest is dense rainforest as I'm sure you saw. Adapting to the forest is part of living in the pacific northwest. Nature was here first, we're lucky to be so spoiled up here.
BKXC I have a hack for u if your bottle does not fit your bottle cage remove it and put Velcro around it and put it back on and now you can strap it on
Hey Seth: I'm an 83 year old that hasn't ridden a bike in OH, 67 odd years. I rode motorcycles for 50 years. I happened to accidently slip into these bike vids here in you tube looking at motor bike vids. Awesome riding and control. I couldn't help noticing how physically challenging this type of riding is and hearing you gasping for air. :O) . I'm not sure who is more insane the riders or the designer/builders of the trails. I wish I were younger. That looks like an adrenalin trip for sure not to mention the physical challenge!! Great vid. I was speechless watching this. Also liked Kristina's art work. Great job from USA
I currently don't even ride (yet) and after watching almost all of your videos has inspired me to do that. So much so I recently sold some of my guitars to pay down debt, so that my wife won't mind me spending money on a decent entry level bike 🙂🙂 Keep up the good work man!
Bryan Miata good luck to you both. As a rider who’s risen they’re entire life I think you just gotta stock with it to get good. Don’t be disheartened by a crash or faster riders cause people have been doing it for years
Oh my Her art work is so amazing! Wow Wow wow! Those are some trails from a dream as well. Thanks Seth. Oh yeah I loved the 1970's era waltdisney nature music, funny cute.
@HORROR I'm not trying to be rude but. Yes i did do it on purpose. if i hadn't put it at 9:11 i would've put it at 9:14. but 9:11 is a better starting point and contains humor.
Ride Squamish when you're back in August! Much more fun and varied than the shore and a great community. Also most of the trails end right at a beautiful lake for a post ride swim!
the music was perfect!! the "north shore" has been on my bucket list for years ... is it way beyond my skill level, but i'd still like to see it in person.
Such great riding for pretty much any skill level, I'm pretty much a novice, but my balance and bike control improved so much in the couple of trips I've taken there!
Best riding destination in the world for a reason! ;-) Another awesome vid Seth - sick balance skills on display the whole video and excellent music choices. They captured the 'Forest of Endor' feeling very well.
Great vid! Can you please explain/show (maybe on instagram) how you connected the gopro to your helmet in minute 7.06? Thanks for letting us ride with you today 😉
I miss mountain biking and riding trials so much after watching this. Need to be successful with my start up here in Berlin to get to do this in the holidays again!
Where I used to work building trails we'd either just use the trees that are fallen to use them as features, or as you said cut down the dead ones and use them for such features. Sometimes we did have to carry those logs a fair distance to suit the trail flow better than trying to go where the tree was. I personally find it most challenging to make/build rock formations as you have to "find" the good rocks as well as secure them in such a way that weather won't dislodge them over the years. Building a full trail with all those features requires a lot of time and patience, especially with the darn mosquitoes!
I was a sponsored amateur skateboarder about 10 years ago in my late teens, now that I’m approaching 30 the injuries have added up and I’m not able to perform at the same level I used to, BUT I still have that never ending desire to get GNARLY! I’ve always loved going fast and mountain biking the small trails I have encountered, but these videos have really inspired me to get into mountain biking even more. I feel it can bring back that much needed sense of getting radical but in a whole new light. Really enjoying the channel. Thank you.
Nothing short of incredible !! Just trying to comprehend all the hard work and hours that go into trail building. There need to be a "National Trail Builders Day" which includes all the free beer they can drink🍻 and some heart felt Thank you's !!!
I grew up in BC about an hour from the north shore but never got a chance to ride there. Glad you came up to check it out, some of the best riding in the world.
You have always undersold your own skills. I just watched the Pinkbike interview. You are definitely better than you say. And I 110% believe you are a relatable, humble, and kind person. I've been watching your content for a long time. I'm rarely disappointed.
The YT algorithm seems to absolutely love this video. I've watched it at least twice (the features ARE beautiful) and it still gets consistently recommended to me
The North Shore is like an enchanted forest that you and your bike go into on an epic adventure on teeter totters, skinny’s, and other amazing wooden features.
I think you described your success on UA-cam, during your Pinkbike interview, perfectly. You’re a normal dude that we can relate to. Also, I love the voice over editing in all your videos. It’s very effective at keeping me visually engaged but also helping me learn something in the process.
Pretty impressive that Seth hit or attempted everything on some pretty tech trails on first ride down. That drop (Piledriver) at the bottom of Boogie Man is no joke on a trail bike, as well as the Empress rock lines toward the end. Loved the vibe of this video as these are my local trails, great job showing off the tech jank Seth!
Hey Seth, you and your friends should come up to Idaho and ride a mountain that is called silver mountain. if you do ride this mountain they have the longest gondola ride in North America. They have a different area further up the mountain and that zone has shorter runs and you can get in more runs. if you do the whole mountain you will only get in 3-4 runs if you are lucky. Thanks for reading!
“The wet season” in coastal BC is basically 9-10 months long, with only July, August, and September (or maybe just 2/3) being any less wet. The upshot of this constant wetness (if anything) is that if a puddle is going to form or an area doesn’t drain it’s gonna basically be a lake or pond. Everywhere else drains nicely and doesn’t hold that much water. There’s not much in between. It’s a rainforest after all.
I know you probably won't read this but I've followed your channel for a few years now and I've always wanted to get into mountain biking but never had the money. so that's why I watch your videos to get the enjoyment of mountain biking without a mountain bike. Thank you keep it up.
W O W!! I'm not a MB - but was a novice in the ice age - guess that's one reason I love watching MB videos. It's amazing - nothing looks like it did way back when bikers just made their way through wooded areas etc. Often, trails naturally developed. ANYWAY - this is, by far, one of the coolest trails I've seen on YOU TUBE. Thanks for sharing it with your awesome commentary. Extra awesome video!! This is probably not a term used these days - but this must have been a 'rad' experience!! Blessings!
I feel like if I bunny hop over a small root I hear chain slap....how come Seth goes over these drops at a standstill and yet you never hear his chain slapping around? Is there a technique I'm missing?
Hey seth I was wondering if you could make a video on how you got into MTb and how someone that doesn't have a lot of money like a teen (I'm 16) can get into mtb without spending an extreme amount of money
I really like the style your videos are taking on. The use of the music helps convey some of the emotion in the moment. Like the thrash metal in the bobsled, or the organ sounds while looking at the fluffy "trail" dog. Great stuff. Keep 'em coming.
I just love your videos Seth! They are so likeable, and also satisfying to watch you clear those trails! You have inspired me to start mountain biking, and I have loved it since I got on my bike. Keep it up, you are a legend💪🏻

Seth didn't crash? What kind of miracle is this?!
That BC trip was an absolute first. A few days later I crashed in Minnesota!
Haha! I bet you did!

What kind of mockery is this ;-)

Please say you're making a MN video! Just moved here from the Pac NW!

Brandan Richter Fellow guitar player who just started riding here. 🙋♂️ I was able to find an entry level bike used for $900.
Bryan Miata good luck to you both. As a rider who’s risen they’re entire life I think you just gotta stock with it to get good. Don’t be disheartened by a crash or faster riders cause people have been doing it for years
You can get a new entry level bike for less than 800 easy. You don’t have to spend big money on bikes.
Just picked up a 2016 Specialized Enduro after selling my 7 and 8 strings!!! xD
mountain bikes had already improved your life and you didn't even own one!
Oh my Her art work is so amazing! Wow Wow wow! Those are some trails from a dream as well. Thanks Seth. Oh yeah I loved the 1970's era waltdisney nature music, funny cute.
9:11 that's why you need to wear a helmet.

hey seth!
my dad and some of his friends built some of the trails when he was younger i can ask him to tell me about it!
Cool music to go with the trails. Looks like a Hogwartz forest
Imma watch it twice for the tunes and footage.... mad love my dude
the music was perfect!! the "north shore" has been on my bucket list for years ... is it way beyond my skill level, but i'd still like to see it in person.
leo p there's something for everyone on the north shore. There's crazy difficult stuff like in this vid but there's a lot of fun and easy stuff too
lil 8 year olds rip it up, you'll be fine
Such great riding for pretty much any skill level, I'm pretty much a novice, but my balance and bike control improved so much in the couple of trips I've taken there!
It’s great and to be honest he is just doing the hard stuff
trail biulder:allthese wooden parts are needed because of the rain
person:(points to a loop de loop or somthing) even that
trail builder:OK most of it
Best riding destination in the world for a reason! ;-) Another awesome vid Seth - sick balance skills on display the whole video and excellent music choices. They captured the 'Forest of Endor' feeling very well.
Whitesnake2 I think they shot the film around there.
That trail looked complicated but very beautiful outdoor including the bird's chirping...
The uniqueness of these trails is right up there with that ride you did in Hawaii. Unique and looks fun as heck!
If only every day on the bike was as good as this! The features are absolutely insane! nothing else can match BC!!

I'm glad you liked mount Seymour. Next time you are here there are some way harder trails to find around the shore.
The North Shore is like an enchanted forest that you and your bike go into on an epic adventure on teeter totters, skinny’s, and other amazing wooden features.

I keep waiting to see Ewoks come running after y'all, lol. I am all but convinced they filmed a couple Star Wars clips there ;)
These trail systems must have been a core inspiration for what would (wood?) eventually become Berm Peak.
