Yes Luke. Great work mate. I am so glad you didnt ride the corkscrew but a little sad also. 🤙 I cannot wait to see it unveiled on your channel. And you looked pretty good riding that Marin.
@@Jusdin057 thanks mate! I was actually planning on riding the corkscrew (or what ever it ends up being called) for this video because I had planned for the build edit to be finished long before this one. But rain has sadly delayed. I have since given it a test ride and I gotta say it is awesome!!! And yeah I am really loving the Marin. I feel a bit better on jumps. I think it's a bit shorter than my Norco so I get a better pop. I haven't taken it down any chunky stuff though. If it ever stops raining I'll get it out into some rock gardens.
This video is incredible! The production quality of it is off the charts! It's extremely interesting. I love how you are able to show how you take advantage of these trees that have fallen in nature to make them fun while also helping to clean up. You're not destroying the forest, you're just maintaining and beautifying it, while also having fun. Awesome work!
Thanks John! I'm really stoked you found it so interesting. It's so nice to be able to spend my free time out in the forest getting creative. And we have plenty of large trees that have fallen over and need to be cleaned up, so you can expect even more fun wooden features in the future. Thanks for watching.
My favourite bit is all the natural features and resources being repurposed rather than just completely trashed and throw away. Such a cool build, been awesome watching it all come together.
Cheers Chris! We have had some really wet weather and strong winds lately which has brought down some big trees. It feels good to be able to give them new life as a MTB feature. Thanks for watching.
That last feature is a “Kreisel” {cry-sel} German for gyro. It is the name of a turn found on some bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton tracks around the world. It is a single continuous curve which turns far enough around that the track must go under itself on the exit of the curve.
Great segment. I remember racing the bump a couple n grind in the late '90s, floating this section these, only two flat in the following downhill section. There was a loose piece of that shale rock that punctured my front tire. Humbling to make it through blood rock well only to be taken out by a flat, straight section. Great trails!
Super video! I’ve been building trails on my 110 acres here in Pa for a few years here. I did this same thing here with chicken ramps/bridges… but I’m not allowed to remove them because some of my some of friends never can clear the gap! Hoping to build a pump track but I need to find out the optimal geometry. That 270 berm is so creative!
Hey Joe! Thanks for watching. Sounds like you have a pretty fun backyard as well. I build my chicken bridges so they can easily be removed without any screws. So depending on who's riding the trail its easy to put them back in place. A pump track would be cool! I owuldn't mind building one as well. And you're right there is very specific geometry needed to make them work well. I have seen some pretty useful guides to building optimal rollers on google.
