☺️ Appreciate the support and way to start the day off right! I love the workout dog walk combo! Thanks again! 🙏🏾
I just like the aesthetic of the old school gym look😂 I wanna see plates and dumbbells I don’t mind , I get they are doing a space saving type thing
Oh absolutely! I love the iron too it's just a new option and the smart part is really amazing. But I have a full garage gym :-)
Hey Vern, how’s the resistance on the speediance feel? Is it consistent throughout or does it feel more like using bands?
It's not like using bands at all Ron. Feels way more like using pulleys but it also has a lot of ways to make it feel different too.
I'm not a fitness expert so I don't know the full capabilities of those big machines on either side but I'm wondering if you might even have undersold the Gym Monster for some people - the people who really do want only one machine to do as much as possible.
Can either of those big racks do any cardio? From what I've researched so far even the most basic non-adjustable-bench package now comes with ski handles for cardio and I've also seen some videos of people sitting on the base plate and doing a sort of rowing exercise although obviously without the proper full-stroke sliding seat motion (you need the rowing accessory for that) so you can do some cardio with the Gym Master.
I'm wondering how the cardio on Gym Master compares with what can be done on a rack system and whether any of the smart resistance modes (eccentric etc) on the Gym Master make cardio stuff like skiing or rowing more natural than a fixed weighted cable system that I assume is what you get with the various non-smart racks.
@@julianfp1952 You might very well be right. I'm sure you can crush cardio in the Gym Monster although I'd be reluctant to put that kind of stress on the system. I realize the feature is available but I feel like it might really fatigue the cables and motors much quicker over time and that's one of the concerns a lot of us have when it comes to a machine like this. I've had absolutely no issues up until this point with my unit and I love it.
@@UsawaFitness Thanks for the reply. That’s an excellent point that I hadn’t thought of but as a professional I guess you need to think about wear & tear way more than a home user like me who’s maybe doing 3 or 4 workouts a week. For me throwing in a bit of cardio might not matter too much.
If Speediance’s claim is accurate then maybe the motors wouldn’t be too much of a concern at least for a home user since they claim that the motors are good for 10,000 hours of use e.g. 2 hours a day for 13 years but I’ve now joined the Speediance Facebook group and there are people there replacing cables after a year, perhaps doing more cardio because others are saying that their cables are still good after 3 years of regular use.
At least Speediance do sell replacement cables and have a video on how to install them so they clearly consider it a user-serviceable component - for anyone willing to contend with a gazillion screws to get to the cable spools (25 screws was the figure I actually read somewhere). Once I decide the machine’s a keeper (I haven’t ordered one yet) I’ll buy a spare set of cables to keep in a drawer so I have a spare set immediately to hand if/when I get a breakage.
It's an amazing machine. I truly love mine and I review and then remove a lot of stuff from my gym but my gym monster isn't going anywhere.
If you took some time looking you can get a rack weights dumbbells and barbells for well under 1000 bucks. And on top of that you can give them to your kids and they can give them to there kids. They will last pretty much forever. Can not say that about the GM a lot of problems with screens going out, motors going out, Circuit boards going out. And will the company be around long term so you can get part? Can you get a good workout on it sure. But you can get a good workout with a body weight And a trx
Everything you said is true but not everyone wants to go that route especially people who areearly adapters with small workout spaces. At the end of the day it's just an option.
@@UsawaFitness agreed. You can not beat it for the space saving. And not having to move around weights. It’s crazy how fast you can get in a workout on it.
I know they sent this thing to you free for a positive review. I bet you wont ever use this thing after the day you made the video of it. Matter of fact, I bet you already sold it for the money, probably you sold it within the first month you got it!!!
Nope. I'll never sell it. I use it almost everyday. It's one of the coolest things I've ever owned. Watch some of my live workouts and you'll see me using it all the time.
Just a heads up that you can get bumper plates from the brand HomeGrown lifting for $1/pound all day, everyday. THey have a set of 500 lb for $500, and $200 shipping. To be more in line with what you're saying for weight wise, it would be 260lb set for $260 or $128 shipping. Just a little note for budget shoppers weighing options. Thanks for the vid, Vern!
That's a great price! Do you have those? I'm hesitant to suggest bumper plates that I haven't tested because I've had bumper plates totally break down and open at the gym I trained at. This looks like a great deal though! Do you have these? I'm going to reach out to them.
@@UsawaFitness I have a full set. Just be aware that they are RUBBER CRUMB plates. Some people don't like that kind. Personally, they work great for me and I haven't had any issues. The guys at Homegrown Fitness are fantastic and will usually replace any defective product.
@HeadCannonPrime I'm gonna to reach out and see if I can get some. They are made in the USA which is rare so I'd like to support em.
