I'm not sure Speediance liked this video, but I wanted to keep this video as real as possible. They also updated me that the web browser function I discovered was also not supposed to happen, so that is not a feature on the new units along with not coming stock with the new bluetooth handles featured. As always I'll keep everything updated on this video if there's any issues, news, or anything else of concern with the product. @ someone else alluded to something like that, but I didn’t know what they were talking about. But no, I’m not getting paid anything from Speediance. I got to try to find that.
@@hybridresistance Definitely-it was you doing your stuff on the machine. They probably took it from one of your videos, or maybe it was altered with AI, using one of your videos to start.
Great move from Speediance to give Mike an early version for an honest review. This is right up your alley and probably a direct overlap with your audience. Thanks Mike!
The Unitree Pump Max is being early released on kickstarter tomorrow! I think it's something you'd like if you haven't already looked into it. 70kg/150lbs per machine (most people will be buying 2 machines) and they have a custom bench/gym board that you can get and do every movement with. Much cheaper than other options like Beyond Voltra and Vitruvian too which is pretty great!
They reached out to me awhile back, but I really didn't want to do any paid promotional stuff or be tied down to specific talking points. I do have another very similar unit that I've had for over 2 months that I'll probably review soon.
I agree this looks like a v1.2 instead of 2.0. Since the beginning people have asked for a higher weight limit and a larger frame to accommodate taller users. When the machine launched it included smart handles so bringing them back is a 1.0 feature, not 2.0. Any changes to the display could be done on the 1.0 version since it's just a computer.
Thanks for the great review! We’re excited to announce that Gym Monster 2 will officially launch on October 23rd! 🎉We can’t wait for you all to try it!
The beauty of the old barbell, plates, dumbbells, bench and rack. It works, lasts a lifetime, it’s tried and true and never breaks. If it was good enough for the golden era it’s good enough for me. Although I do enjoy your reviews, but I’ve always wondered if starting this channel is a blessing or a curse for you? Lol. Like does having all this new equipment/ updated products get in the way of the simplicity of you working out? When I started watching home gym review channels I was overwhelmed. Tried the resistance bands for a min but slowly but surely ended up buying a power rack, then the barbells, weights, bench, etc. I’m much happier regardless if the newest product out there claims you can get better results with it. But hey, maybe that’s just me and the conclusion I’ve come to. Cheers!
@@Joe-bg9gi I love this comment brother! I could make a whole video about it. I’d say I’ve always been interested in learning new things and trying new things but with a base in resistance training. People used to tell me I was doing crossfit before CrossFit. But basically just saying I’d always try something new when came on the scene. I can remember bringing home made maces, TRX, and even kettlebells to the gym and people didn’t know what they were. For the channel, I just cover what I find interesting. The easier path is just cover what’s popular. Time only tells if it will actually stick with my personal training though. When 2020 hit, I got a rack but didn’t like having all equipment all in my basement. That’s where some of this equipment comes in for people. For sure I knew I’d be back to basic weights (either at a gym or home) but it was really assessing the space. But a final theme on the channel that you certainly don’t need a rack, there’s so many options now for people that it really depends on preference, ability, goals, space, and budget.
@@hybridresistance that’s really cool, I had no idea that you were always into trying different things and approaches to training. For myself, I’ve dabbled into other training methods, even done CrossFit years ago. My biggest challenge now that I have a home gym is trying to stick to a routine because every time I walk by my gym I wanna pick up the weight and hammer out some reps. Trying to stick to a 3 day split. But I will say, the cool factor of having good equipment is you wanna play. Who can resist doing some curls? Not me lol.
Most people that have been working out for a long time and have sets of dumbbells, this is a great addition to a home gym. The ability to do so many cable exercises including all out gliding rows is sick!! I do hear your point fully. Had my free weight set for 12 plus years. Cheers
Feel like they are missing an obvious potential upgrade insofar as the machine still does not have a true vertical pulldown. Cantilever it off the uprights. Use a heavy set screw to attach and a second set of pulleys. Done.
I hear you. That why I think this maybe should be renamed something different as some of the main updated features are not there yet. For sure, still a great machine none the less.
Cracked me up with the ghostbuster 1 and ghostbuster 2 logo! Great review - one question for you Mike.... I sometimes workout with my wife in the same room. It annoys her when I do a follow along workout and she can hear music and stuff coming from the workout. Does the Speediance allow you to tether to bluetooth headphones or does it only use it's own built in speaker in its audio system?
Thanks Tom. I was actually just thinking about you today and how you're doing. As far as I can tell you cannot (at least at this time) pair bluetooth headphones on the GM. So it does just use its own speaker sound system, which you can silence all together. And while I didn't try it, I was told you can connect or pair apple music to the system. I really waiting for them to simply allow you to stream say Spotify through their speaker. I'm not sure why they're not allowing that yet. I think it would sound great with the new sound system. Great to hear from you Tom and hope all is well with you and your wife.
Was hoping for a bit more. Trying to decide between this and the new Echelon Strength Home which has a little higher resistance (well, conflicting info. Waiting to hear back for clarification) and comes with the smart handles. Only draw I can see for this over it is the no subscription fee. Decisions decisions.
Hi Mike, I have 3 important questions: 1- Does the GM2 come with a ring to attach to the barbell to control the weight ? 2- Can the Rower be locked into a position or not, what I mean can it be locked when fully extended or in the middle so than the user can do Low rows better ? 3- Does the Rower feel like it’s better made than the last version ?
