      @mozes42 5 місяців тому +48

      He probably is going around 40-50%, until it’s time to hammer it up to 100%

    • @TopFearless
      @TopFearless 5 місяців тому +14

      I think you can only afford doing that if you're really technical in various positions. If you go with the flow at 40% and end up in a position you're unfamiliar/uncomfortable with, you perhaps will need to use just as much strength to get out of it as you would have used going at 80-100% beforehands

    • @lordad
      @lordad 5 місяців тому +21

      Lets not forgett Josh Saunders started BJJ-No-Gi only ~ 4 years ago . His biggest achievement so far was winning ADCC Trials in Sidney . Yeha he is good and yes he has potential but Gordon Ryan is on a whole other level being at the top of the sport for longer than Sauners has even been doing Jiu JItsu

    • @MrJSyer
      @MrJSyer 5 місяців тому +4

      @@TopFearless That's it. I can't afford to go 40% or I will end up in real bad positions if I'm against someone of my level or above. But, this is a good training strategy against someone a little less skillful. You will end up eventually in bad places, but in a way you can manage to scape.

    • @LibertyOverDeath-27
      @LibertyOverDeath-27 5 місяців тому

      @TopFearless You're right, but you also have to be very strong. Or have enough strength in reserve to negate the opponent's. You can be the most technical person out there, but if you fight someone with a significant strength advantage who knows just enough to not get immediately submitted, you're in trouble. Gordon is super technical but he definitely has the strength in reserve to match all his opponents so far.

    • @jessehamilton180
      @jessehamilton180 5 місяців тому +3

      I think Josh looked relaxed because he was not in a position to be explosive for much of the match. Being on bottom, he was more or less framing for his life and Gordon was doing the wet-blanket waiting for openings. Even at the end, Josh's legs were expertly tied up to limit escapes.

    Danaher literally breaksdown this same technique in a previous video from a while back where you act like you want the secondary leg but you’ll lose it but you don’t care because you want the primary leg. Once you get the primary leg it’s game over.

    Great versatility! Gordon could not use height nor strength nor weight in this match, so he used technique and movement. So impressive. Hope his stomach can be healed.

    Gordon shows once again why he is the greatest. Wins and does not fuck up Josh. People can talk shit about him all they want at least he is not going around popping legs like an idiot for no reason.

    So after watching most of his matches. The only time Gordon loses is when his opponents are actively trying to finish him. I noticed most of his opponents are scared and on defense the entire time, almost like they just want to survive the clock.

      Technique requires strength applied to a precise position and time anyway, just a smart way to use strength.

      So stupid comment... If that's the case weight classes would not exist... They are both strong and they have both good technique, gordon has just way more technique advantage that Josh has strength advantage... I mean try to trough any fighter against a gorilla... A gorilla has no technique yet he will win 10/10 times... Its always about how big the gap is... If the gap in strength is too big no amount of technique can save you

    Gordon was doing 50% wearing him out for 10 minutes to tire him out and then start his end game. Gordon dont care if someone retains guard, Gordon just see it as exhausting his oponent. retaing guard is tiresome. Gordon just uses his 50% relentless pressure and then starts to go for the finish. Impressive. So calm.
