MTB was a very different and original Southern rock band. They frequently incorporated steel guitar, fiddle, flute, saxophone and other non traditional rock instruments in their songs. Beautiful songs!
Something of a lost classic here. One has to wonder what this would have done if it had been cut down to four minutes or so and released on the country charts?
@@albertheidger645 Had it been released as a single they would have had to shorten it. Nothing outside of a then popular AOR station could or would play an almost 7 minute song.
@@albertheidger645: KZEW and Q102 out of Dallas. They were Album Oriented Rock or "underground" FM stations started in the early 70s. They were about the only stations that played MT at the time in the area.
@@victorjohnston1529 l live Iowa, but little rock was well receivable this area. But by mid-seventies plenty fm stations coming on play mtb . Alot of other good stuff, not the fluff bubble gum on the top 40 stations. Then got invaded by the gotta be hard or it ain't rockin rollers. Like my rockin roll but not just for noise. I like music. We'll be Running like the wind! Running like the wind! And you will never hear us say, well we might be back again some day, well we won't, we'll be running like the wind. Man they were a part of my soul. Still are. Running like the wind. Dessert skies, come on now. As good as it gets.
He's like a rat...a preacher once told me. Don't give him any garbage to feed on...drugs, lust, soap operas, gossip, drunkenness, etc. Starve him out... no expression in your life. Latch onto...feed on the word, songs like this, Prayer, fellowship with healthy(spiritually) believers,etc. GBU
I started listening to MTB in the '70s and I dig them just as much today. Great music never gets old.
This whole album rocks,I was 20 years old working in Missouri Kansas and Texas working construction and living in motels!
