    I love the nebula blue colour but still prefer the overall aesthetic of the original nightshift

    I think the Ducati took a wrong turn with this, the old one looked much better, seam to me Ducati also did some cost cutting with the instrument cluster, instead of making the round one a bit bigger, so easier to read, they have gone with the standard one that everyone uses (phone in landscape mode)!! With a small silver/grey bezel at the end, looks cheap, same cost cutting that the Yamaha did with their 900xsr, when designing these bikes the companies have to go all inn, not use standard parts that everyone else is using, if so why bother, as a buyer I would buy the older models.

      Well said! Given the choice, I would buy the original Nightshift over this one. It's a shame, but I think the people at ScramblerDucati have fallen out of touch with their audience. Judging from the marketing alone, they don't seem to know who buys their bikes. It all feels rushed and forced and making unnecessary changes.

      I disagree with this and think that many others do as well. In person this bike is gorgeous. I like the grey better but the aesthetic of this bike is beautiful. To say it’s bad and that they lost touch is crazy imo.
      This is a top 10 eye candy bike to many other UA-camrs.

      @jtbigbear3158 thank you for your reply. I recently ran a poll on my IG asking if people preferred the original or the next gen and the results came in 50:50.
      Perhaps bad was a poor choice of word, but there are certainly some questionable additions to the next gen model.

    hey man loved the review one of the first and comprehansive review of the next gen scramblers so far. I have a question for you, I own a 1100 tribute pro (decided to buy after your videos actually) but I'm not really comfortable with it. It is a little tall and heavy for the way i ride (177cm 31 inseam). I live in Istanbul there are some really tight, old, steep roads in here and i need something I can control easly. I take a "baby" highway to commute but my max speed is usually around 80-85 miles per hour and most of the time there is a traffic jam so i have to lanesplit. My problem is because we don't have any test ride opportunities around here i can not decide myself would you recommend me to change my Tribute Pro to this since you rode both of them.( I wont be losing any money since i will sell my Tribute Pro and then buy the cheaper next gen)

      Hey man, thanks so much for the support, and it's amazing to hear you purchased the Tribute PRO off the back of one of my videos! From what you've said, it sounds like the 803 models would be a lot more suitable for the kind of riding you face every day. They're agile, narrow enough to filter, and can sit at 80-85 on the motorway :) Let me know how you get on.

    So, Im confused between this nightshift and the speed twin 1200. I know they're apples and oranges but they're priced the same. Which one do you think is a better all-round performer? I need it mostly for back-country cruising.

      Am inn the same boat 😅 after trying both i feel like the Ducati is more flexible and easy to ride. Think it will be my pick 🤷

    • @TheBritishMotorbiker
      @TheBritishMotorbiker  Місяць тому +1

      Oh blimey, as you say, they're two very different machines. The Speed Twin has plenty of power, and is a lot of fun in all environments. It is probably the better choice for long distance riding, but the scrambler is considerably lighter which also comes into play. Are there any showrooms nearby so you can test ride them both?

    i saw one of these at the dealer and was taken in by it. The square shape of the TFT would drive me nuts due to the shape of the console itself, why not just make the whole thing the screen?

    • @TheBritishMotorbiker
      @TheBritishMotorbiker  3 місяці тому

      I agree with you there. I get why they want to pay homage to the original speedo, but it looks kind of funky.

    Do you still own the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro? I have been thinking about getting one or at least taking a look at it, but I have read a few reviews like the one from AutoTrader and they say it's extremely uncomfortable, the seat is really hard and only good for 30 minute rides, they also say it lacks power, the console is fiddly, confusing and pointless, they say it comes into it's own in the twisty's but that is its only party trick, they also say it's way over priced for what it is and there are plenty of better choices at a much lower price, basically they didn't say anything positive about it, yet most of the UA-camr reviews give it a big thumbs up, what's your honest take now you've owned one for a while?

    • @TheBritishMotorbiker
      @TheBritishMotorbiker  11 місяців тому

      Hey man, I just took a look at the review on their website, and I honestly have no idea what the guy is on about. I never owned the 1100, and instead had it on loan from Ducati UK to create content on here and for IG. I took the Sport PRO on a 1,000+ mile journey around Cornwall back in 2021 and didn't suffer any discomfort. The bike isn't designed to be the fastest or the most powerful, so I don't get why he is comparing it the Thruxton RS and R nineT. I've ridden both of those bikes; yes they're more powerful, but the Ducati put the biggest smile on my face of the three, and in my opinion, that's what it is designed to do. Whether you're riding to the shops, or going on a long ride, it never fails to make you happy. It's aggressive, sounds uttely bonkers, and looks amazing. If I had the money, it would be my daily in a heartbeat.

      @@TheBritishMotorbiker That's what I'm looking for again, a fun bike that makes you smile and want to be out riding in any weather. I had a Kawasaki ER6F for 3 years, it was fun for an hours ride, but it gave me butt and back ache on longer rides. I have had a BMW 1250 GSA for a year, I got it to get me out riding more and longer distances, but it has had the opposite effect, it is a fantastic bike to ride, but it is extremely heavy and a struggle to manhandle about, I'm 6ft and can just about tip toe, doesn't give you confidence when you stop with nearly 300kg and you can't reach the ground, it has put me off going out, in the year I've only used 2 tanks of fuel. I want a fun bike that I can pop out for an hour or ride all day and go camping, at the moment it's between the Ducati 1100 sport pro or Kawasaki Z900RS.

      @@TheBritishMotorbiker comparing a Thruxton RS with a Ducati scrambler 1100 is a bit like comparing my left foot with a salami pizza. Comparing the Thruxton RS against the Ducati café racer and some other café races might be relevant to compare a café racer with a scrambler is a bit stupid isn't it because they serve different purposes. What I do now just from the physics of engineering is that the 1100 scrambler doesn't go any faster than the 803 it's just that it allows you to drive slowly in town at the lower rpm and still have some high torque
