Thanks for the clear video. I’m in much the same boat, some front wheel bearing noise and vibrations. I think I’m going to replace the hub assemblies as I don’t have a press or many tools or much confidence. My car is also on b8s and lowered or cut springs so looking forward to seeing what springs and shocks you decide on and what you think of the ride afterwards. Cheers
For the amount of labor invested, apparently the springs and shock absorbers were also changed, you should have also said the customer that all bushings should be changed. Now he won't feel as big as a difference as he could.
It’s not a customer’s car. It’s my car. The bushings aren’t worn, but they aren’t new either. They’re good for now, but I’ll probably change them in a future video just to tighten things up.
You know, this was a nice tutorial! Assuming your average citizen oryou tuber has a very expensive multiple thousands of dollar tool! this was nothing more than instructional video how to use the particular tool you have. how should the rest of the 99% of the us in the world actually do this, other then buy the tool u used?
I appreciate the feedback. I would like to think that the video overall demonstrates how to change the bearing as well in addition to using the tool. I was a professional tech for many years so I like to show how the pros do things using OEM approved repair procedures. It’s literally all I know. Using improper tools and techniques to change a wheel bearing is extremely dangerous
Simple answer, you don't. Some repairs simply can't be done without proper tools or expertise. And with regards to that I wouldn't attempt a repair like that as someone who would do this for the first time without guidance or supervision by a professional simply because If you don't know what you're doing you are putting your own and others life at risk. I really don't get why you chose to comment and complain that Mike did not show you how to replace your wheel bearings with your bare hands. It's not his fault that you're not the target audience and just spent 13 minutes watching a video that was not meant for you😅
@gofast951 @wewrench Ill give you a secret.. use rental tool evertough 67213. from oreillys auto parts. Im gonna make a video soon on this subject. I like the video, detailed and rich in quality and editing, but to be honest its so impractical for 99% of people out there. the video is mainly showing off a nice , insanely expensive hydraulic tool that virtually nobody has access to, and if they did they probably didn't need this video. Vito's garage has a good video on a 190e wheel bearing; it uses a similar if not the same hub.
Looking good Mr WeWrench, you can also center whilst dismantling and at mounting the bearing! Nice protective shades!
Thank you sir! Those shades are critical to success!

Thank you for watching! I actually restored the suspension back to stock and I'm so much happier with it.
@@wewrench thanks for ye reply. What are the stock shocks for these? It seems hard to find out online.
@@nigelloughnan9276 Bilstein makes them for Mercedes but I don’t think there is an aftermarket equivalent
Here those W210 and 211 rust solid. On 211 if we do the ABS magnet rings we do the bearings as well as the labor is about the same. Same for 204 etc
Yup! The hydraulics come in handy!
Thanks Mike for putting this educational video out there. Now I just need to get these hydraulic tools somehow
Appreciate your viewership! They’re wonderful tools
need those safety glasses asap 😂
Safety first man!
The best tool 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for watching

What are your thoughts on sl550 specifically r129 generation?
I'm looking for one, I like the boxy car
R129s are great cars. I would love one for my collection as well…a late model SL500 silver arrow
@@wewrench thanks for your input 😼👌
@@sugamai Good luck with it! Love the old Benzs
That is one nice tool set. What’s the MSRP?
I think it's around $7-8K depending on where you look. Thanks for watching!

I have A car bmw 520i e34 I want to modify the exhaust or engine so that it produces a fire sound like the sound of mPower
Going to have to modify it a bit to do that! Thanks for watching
