Good video, but it only mentions symptoms of a front wheel bearing. What if it’s a back wheel?
The same without the steering part
😂@@hamdaouiJafar
Bro you just confirmed exactly what I’ve been experiencing for the past few days… I’m getting new bearings tmr fr fr… I’m glad I came across this video… much appreciated 🫡
I had to comment...this was an amzing video. Succint, clear, and visually informative. Bravo! This should be standard education format.
💯
Wow very nice thank you!
Short concise and to the point. Other videos show jacking car up and wiggling the front wheel in the horizontal and vertical planes and experiencing play. I have none in the horizontal and a little in the vertical. Your thoughts?
I have none of those 2 symptoms but all of the vibrations and the ABS light on and a OBD2 device i have around said the senson on that same wheel went south too, so, i just took the wheel and sensor plug and brake assembly and there you have it: when i spin the brake disk altogether it does rotates BUT with rattling sound kind of weird. My car does a hummnig soud that increses at speed and a crazy vibration that ruins the drive for me. REALLY APPRECIATE THIS VIDEO !!! GOOD
Great video, thanks for including the part about the ABS light
YES I FIGURED IT OUT MYSELF BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PART IS BROKEN. I'M TURNING RIGHT AND IT MAKES RUBBING NOISE ONLY UNDER THE HARD TURN THAT'S WHAT I FIGURED OUT AND YOU HELPED ME TO CONFIRM IT. THANKS A LOT MAN. !!!!
Very informative video for a change I saw a whole bunch of them and they're basically useless they don't explain they don't show Good job
Well explained! Thought my mechanic was giving wrong diagnosis
Great work bud! I like the huge effort in your videos very detailed and spot on!
I appreciate you!
Thank you for this it helped me find the problem
Thank you! I finally know what’s wrong with my car. As I increase speed my steering wheel will vibrate. The abs light is on and I hear the noises. Never knew that would all be associated with the same issue. I would google just one symptom. Never got a clear answer until now 🙏🏽
What about low humming, vibration, etc when coming to a stop?
Brakes
Thank you 🙏... was told this was the issue and was thinking of driving into the office, only once a week but fierce traffic and stop/go the whole way. Will not drive. Ty
I subscribed you to learn mechanical stuff. I m passionate about car mechanics
This helped alot!!
i have a 2006 chevy cobalt rides rough on a smooth highway and i had new tires new shocks and struts and control arms plus wheel bal,s. all around what could it be maybe my wheel bearings?
Couldnt those symptoms be a bad cv shaft as well?
Well done! Subscribed!
Thank you!
Bro well done thank you.
Thank you!
Hey my car was stolen , I replaced the strut assembly and the font left cv axel but for some reason the wheel is super close to the inner wheel drum compared to the other side ? Hopefully u can understand my question lol and I’m currently dealing with uneven tire wear but I mainly think it’s cuz my front left wheel is dispositioned , mind pointing me in the ryte direction for this repair?
most likely wrong axle most cars have a driver side axle and passenger one is longer than the other
Good concise information without over explaining. Be sure to wear clean non fabric, Preferably Nitrile gloves when packing a bearing with grease. Bearings are made to extremely tight tolerances, any debris, even fine fibers from the glove material can cause premature wear and bearing failure.
how to know that it is the bearing and not the rotors? I have some of these symptoms. Not growling noise but clicking sound and frequency increases at higher speeds. I also have vibration at higher speeds that comes and goes, but it does get worse if I brake.
Any idea how to tell if it's brake or bearing? Do i just need to take it to the shop at this point?
If there is not any noise coming, but a single front left wheel wobbles at a slow speed , so does it have a wheel bearing issue?
Is it true that you can have some of these symptoms without the wheel bearing making any noise?
Will the wheel come off while driving if not fixed?
Yea bro happened to me yesterday I could’ve died if it happened just 5 mins before I left the highway luckily I had got of the highway and was able to steer onto dirt when it fell off
@@Jayloxc Whoa that's crazy. Glad you're safe and sound. Sending you psychological healing and financial blessings to fix things right.
Which wheel was it?
@@Amandahugankiss8888yea but really depends on how bad they are and how long it's been since replacement. Tire falling off is rare. I've made it over 1000 plus miles on mine going back and forth to work. I had all symptoms except abs light when I was finally able to afford hub bearings then the abs light came on
Thank you
Just purchased and noticed that when I turn slightly left on a speed between 20-40mh I hear strong pulsing noise. I changed the tires, sway bar links new brakes and discs. I am now suspecting the wheel bearing, but There is no play whatever or noise on either side when turned by hand. At the same time there is no pulsing no humming no grinding noise when driving straight, any thoughts, please ?
Likely wheel bearing. There’s degrees to how bad it can be. If the sound changes based on how fast you’re going it’s 99% of the time a wheel bearing. If you notice some slight play left and right in the wheel but not up and down it may be outter tie rod. You can also check inner tie rod play which would be in and out (inner tie rods should have no movement in or out, only swivel). Could also be a bushing 🤷🏻♂️ hard to diagnose without being there
You are Spon on it's the wheel bearing. The only way I found out was lifting both wheels up then spinning with one hand while the other hand on the coil spring feeling any abnormal faint friction. And that's when I found that one wheel was so smooth but the other I could feel grinding on the spring. It's at it first stage so very difficult to diagnose. Thanks for your reply.. I will definitely check the tie rods on the way.
@@nas979 curious, did you change your wheel bearing and fix the problem you had?
@@fredredd410 Yes, OEM wheel bearing fist it all
Nice job.
Have question
Cargo Van vibration while driving and now loud pop when turning wheel all the way in one direction then straightening out to center or just past center
Something is wrong with one of your tires/wheels
Wish I had seen this
😊 few days ago
I think I have a bad wheel hub on my E90. No ABS light, but I had a TPMS warning, and if I'm not mistaken, the way tire pressure monitoring works on E90s is by wheel speed, it measures the wheel speed, and as the tire deflates, the radius of it shrinks, increasing the wheel speed, and when the TPMS reads that increased wheel speed, it thinks the tire got deflated. What do you think? Might that, along with a grinding noise and high vibrations, be the cause? The wheel doesn't move when I jack the car up and try to giggle it with my hands.
Hi nico I have same as yours issue did you find anything please I have changed the abs speed sensor too but after an hour coming back agian
It ended up being battery issues in my case @@paiwandmustafa5324
I’ve got the exact same thing on my 2011 328i. It went from a low hum and slight vibration in the steering wheel to a loud rhythmic thumping noise. Tire pressure lights on but no ABS light. No play when I jiggle the wheel when it’s jacked up.
The most important thing to do in a replacing a wheel bearing is to make sure the axle nut is torqued correctly
Good work
Well fk me running, guess I have a losse wheel bearing. Outstanding video, thank you!!
My abs light came in haha
Mine stop when I turn oh press break 😢
Why remove logos? We don't do that crap in the 1970s. Anyway, wheel bearings went bad in the 2003 Subaru Forester. I did my wheel bearings early on my 2013 Chevrolet Impala.
@ Wheel barren went out Jeep Compass 2017 send link 🖇️ Description 😮
High-quality bearings are for safer driving.
❤❤❤❤
not a fucking wheel bearing that a hub assembly
Not true loose steering wheel is due to steering box not wheel bearings
Your video was very informative and to the point without a lot of crap
Thank you!
When i drive my car its fine until after about 15 minutes then it act as if i am riding the brakes and it actually slows down without touching the brakes then when everything cools down it is normal again..could this be wheel bearings or calipers failing
ok. i only hear the rumbling when driving through curves...
My right is messed up and it hums when I turn right and not when I turn left at high speeds like witching lanes in interstate
Thanks for a short video which has lots of information
If anyone could anwser this it would be much appreciated. I have all of those symptoms exept when i turn the wheel to the right it does get louder at higher speeds but the noise comes from the right front wheel which doesnt make much sense that it would be the left wheel bearing causing this issue as indicated in the video.
Some people say that the opposite of what is said here is true, that would support what you are finding. Did you find out what side bearing was actually bad?
