Fantastic video. Im just about to start mine. What was refreshing was how you dealt with unexpected problems. With that type of attitude you can deal with anything. Cheers.
436wellington Thankyou. Its a huge job for a diy'er and although it slows the video down i was hopeful the little tips would help. Before i start a big job sometimes a lack of info even on UA-cam can be daunting. Best of luck!
Does it have the magnetic abs ring on that bearing if so how do you check which end in first ? I had a bearing done on my van and think the mechanic has installed it back to front ... Abs light is on and I've just fitted a New genuine lead there.
Hi there If i remember correctly I just the part number of the bearing the same way as one before. I had a quick search and found this helpfull video. I you take out the drive shaft you could physically check the inner side is magnetic i suppose. See video ua-cam.com/video/hIwndugi6_w/v-deo.html If you need to rework then make sure you get heavily discounted quote from the mechanic who made the error. Hope you get sorted. Thankyou.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Quincy Finnley Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks a Brilliant Video. You can pull the hub out of the bearing just using the wheel bolts and some 8mm Thick steel behind rather than make up the special pullers. Otherwise spot on Thanks.
Caryl Bird i got the bearing tool from ebay, if you watched the first part you’ll have seen i made a tool to seperate the bearing hub initially. Its nothing you can’t do with the help of a few favour from pals at work etc... thanks
hussayn19 hi there i would say 4-6 hours for both sides if the garage have the correct tool. I personally have never done a bearing of this type in less than 3 hours. This one is much larger so tooling is a must. Thanks
Hi there, it is the correct bearing and you can see the locking clip around the outside to lock it in place. You can also hear it clicking in to place as it goes fully home. Thanks for watching

Hi Mike, can you please advise where the abs ring is fitted? My reluctor ring needs replacement but not sure where is attached to? Thanks, Vilius
Bravo mais c'est aussi dur de retirer le roulement, une vidéo serait bien utile pour moi !

would the cv joint /drive shaft not come out by just disconnecting shocker? or has the complete arm got to be unbolted to give enough clearance
Hi there, i couldnt get clearance.
How did you do it, the ABS sensor is inside on the side of the axle, and the ring on the bearings is outside
Hi there, do you mean i got the bearing the wrong way?
@@mikebryan544
“no... I found out that where the ABS sensor is, the bearing is magnetized. And this ring is a STOPPER for the bearing in the seat!
@@__Nomad__ that ring is not the ABS ring, its just a retainer. The ABS ring is inside the bearing. If thats what you mean? Thanks for coming back
Nice job Mike, good video. I have to do a bearing on my W639 so this will be very helpful

@Quincy Finnley it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Dominik Tristian glad I could help :)
Is that a similar retaining clip used on front wheel bearings on mercedes sprinters like 2012 models?
Hi there, i dont know, ive not done the front. They are probably used widely by and depends on the make of the bearing used.
Great job. Best vid I've seen ever.
Gaynor Edwards Well i can’t argue with that! Thankyou

Excellent video, Very good quality. By someone who knows what they are doing.
Nice one fella ❤
What was your year Vehicle mines 2011 and some are saying it's a different one to 2010???
hussayn19 2008 W639, if its rear wheel drive it wont be much different. I think later they went to forward wheel driven. Thanks
Mike how much labour should it be to get both sides done?
hussayn19 hi there i would say 4-6 hours for both sides if the garage have the correct tool. I personally have never done a bearing of this type in less than 3 hours. This one is much larger so tooling is a must.

Good job
That looks like it's the wrong bearing cause it's supposed to go in more and then a circle clip goes after to lock the bearing.
Hi there, it is the correct bearing and you can see the locking clip around the outside to lock it in place. You can also hear it clicking in to place as it goes fully home.

great vid
