Moscardelli was one of the first viral memes that spread out in the early 2010s on the italian internet. First time i saw him play was when he was playing in Serie B in Rimini. He was a great player for Serie C and B and he had enough talent to get in Serie A in his thirties and that's a great accomplishment for a "province superstar". What made him viral on social media in 2011-12-13 was his beard and haircut paired with his capacity of scoring a couple of attractive goals in serie A.

In Spain we have "Pablo Infante". Some insights: after numerous media interviews in Spain, it emerged that Infante spent years refusing offers from club in higher divisions due to his work as director of a bank branch, located 50 kilometers from Mirandés' facilities. He was a graduate in Business Administration from the University of Burgos, and played the vast majority of his career in teams in the Province of Burgos. He single-handedly led third division teams to Spain's cup semi-finals.

Moscardelli’s ball touch was amazing. Watching the video, I can tell, he was born with a super natural talent, that even the greatest coaches can’t help players achieve. What an incredible player.
a) he wasnt able to convince during his youth b) he wasnt willing to get out of his comfort zone to succeed c) he wasnt stategic in his career approach.
Wow! Ur videos are great and ty for finally making a video about a forgotten Italian footballer, Davide! I still remember watching him in early 2000s and how he scored amazingly. He deserved better!!!
There is a similar story in Argentina. This guy was called Tomás Carlovich, "El Trinche". He was born in Rosario, like Messi, and it is said to be one of the most talented players ever here, which is a lot to say from a place where Distefano, Maradona and Messi were born. This is a great story. I’m glad he got to live his dream and play in series a. I bet there’s not many people who’ve experienced a better feeling then he felt that day… and to add to it he put one in the net.
wow mate...you gave me the goosebumps. I actually followed his career as he was a dear friend of a cousin...he has always been a rough diamond of a player.
Remember him going to Celtic but not quite making it. Lubo moravcik would be another one... Think Zidane mentioned him as the best player he has ever seen
I was in Italy when he played through his career I remember him very well. he was never treated like a great player. He was treated like a division 2 player or a low class player. the Italians don't consider him to be anything they don't even appreciate him. He also didn't help himself he should have gone to another country to play like the English league or even that Russia league deal was good. he saw himself as Italian but the Italians never saw him as Italian else they would have called him in the national team. or in the Italian under 2023. And him refusing to play for Belgium was his biggest mistake he did to himself. Belgium is a great national team. He should love his original country Belgium maybe that is were his star 🌟 is.
So the Italians never seen him as Italian, and he never saw himself as anything else. The nationalism was the same on both sides, I'd say both sides were wrong.
There are people more talented than Messi and Ronald, rare gems. But somehow they never get that big stage. I studied with a mate in high school. I never liked football much but watching that guy play made me love the game. At the time he was14/15 but he will be asked by older guys to play practice matches with them. And these guys played premier and championship games in my country. And he will embarrasse those guys at 14. He was very deft with the ball like he'd magnets on his feet. He will command the ball in any direction, do any move and it will obey. Kid liked going around goalies just for the fun of it coz he can. And onlookers will be cracking up seeing grown men fall on their faces. But the kid had one thing, if you tackled him badly he will stop playing that very moment and just walk off. And when grown men got embarrassed that's exactly what they did so he would quit and stop embarrassing them. The kid was that good. when Messi popped up and I saw him play I was like meh I've seen better.
I've been following Serie A for 40 years. I've lived in the UK, France, Italy and Dubai. I have very detailed football knowledge and can say he's one of the most talented players I've ever seen. Phenomenal natural ability.
I liked it before watching the video. Thanks for the video. I remember when he played for Piacenza, he was just awesome at the Garilli. Maybe he is the best player I have ever seen playing football in person..
Great video, Robin Friday was an English player who had it all but never rose above the 3rd division playing for Reading and Cardiff City in a career that spanned only 4 years, he is often referred to as "The Greatest player You never saw",, I was reading that a Hollywood movie about him is definitely on the cards, I feel certain that there are similar stories out there from times gone by but it would be very difficult to fins stories like these now as football has become in many respects more of a business than ever which is to the detriment of game in my humble opinion.
This is a great video!!. Keep it up. It's really great that you make videos of players of the past because lots of young football fans don't really care about knowing about players of the past and only focus on today's players. Keep up this good work!!
Reminds me of this uber talented fat guy who knocked around in the football league in England in the early 2000's called Lee Trundle. Obviously there is levels to everything, but he wasn't called the league one Ronaldinho for nothing! Just a really fun player to watch. He's still playing non league today at 46 I believe. You can still find clips of him here on UA-cam
John Atyeo. Played in the third tier, but was wanted by AC Milan, Juventus, Liverpool among others. The fee offered translated to £30m circa 2005, so probably £60m+ in todays market. Played for England and even scored the goal that qualified them for a World Cup, but they stopped picking him because he wouldn't quit his teaching job.
Absolutely not. Fake News. £60M today would be almost £2M in 1955. No player was bought for more than £100K until 1961. The first £1M player was 1975. Maradona was the first player to go for over £1.75M in 1982.
@@daviebananas1735 your reading comprehension has failed you. Inflation isn't the only way money has changed since then The fees being paid for players has inflated way beyond the inflation of currency Try again when you're capable of reading well Davie My post saying 30m was from memory, the actual amount would have been 20m in 2005. Even that would be a near 60m player in today's market- not that money has inflated by 3x since 2005. But the amount paid and market value of players has, easily. And he would have been the most expensive player in England had the transfer been done, so it was certainly going to be up there near the world records for the time. He turned down moves that were a value of 50k in 1958. At the time the British record was 34.5k. Just to further make the point how the MARKET has inflated more than the currency, that's just under 1m in today's money.
@@jamespicksley5781 The most expensive transfer at the time in England was £34,500. Equivalent to £443K in 2005. Although the football market has changed dramatically you can’t make huge logical leaps like that. Small clubs could break the world transfer record back in those days. It wasn’t what it is now. A £35K transfer back then is not equivalent to £20M in 2005. That’s just silly. Maradona went for almost double the world record in 1982. Does that mean it’s the equivalent to almost £400M today? No.
@@daviebananas1735 it's not my logical leap, it's one that football journalists made having studied how it all changed. You dont think Maradona would have a 400m value? There's already players with release clauses at over 250m. 400m probably isn't far off what Maradona would be valued at. You've actually shot your own argument down there. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it not the case. Now get over it or jog on.
@@jamespicksley5781 So because a journalist made a sensationalist claim to make his article seem grander than it is, then it’s true? And no, a young unproven Maradona would not be signed for £400M from Boca Juniors today. That’s crazy talk. Don’t believe everything you read.

There was this guy on my block when I was little. There were very good players in my area, including myself, we even beat the champions of Pepsi cup and a couple school teams, most of us with potential for profesional players. And there was this guy, that rarely came out to play with us, he was just incredibly above everyone else. Believe me or not this guy was doing things that I have never seen any professional soccer player do, nor even Ronaldinho. It was just out of this world. Not only that, but he also had massive charisma and social skills. The professional team tecos of Guadalajara tried to sign him for 10 years, he refused and became a doctor. Honestly, the world lost a wonder because of the corruption on Mexican football. So, I know for a fact there are monsters out there that we will never know about.

There's so much money involved that talent was left behind and now we are stuck with mediocre players that only care about money.
As someone who pursued the football player career as a mid teen there are talented players that nobody will ever see because of injuries. Saw many end their careers after terrible injuries. The great players we see are the skilled ones with luck or good genetics to endure.
There's also the luck of getting a good coach who doesnt arbitrarily try to aggravate injuries or force games out of hurt players to get better personal results so their own career can advance.
I met a guy who can dribble the whole team if he wants, I dare say even more impressive than Messi himself, im not joking, he can shoot accurately anywhere with power from half field, even showed us how he can do what ronaldinho did with the bars and back several times without the ball falls, it's to the point where he was banned from joining any team locally because it's just unfair, but he just won't play professionally because he wants simple and discreet life. He was scouted by several big clubs internationally but he said no. He's 33 now.
You should make a video about Salvador Cabanas, Paraguayan. Really sad story. Was on a high playing in south american/mexican teams, was almost signing for Man Utd. Got shot in an accident and was never the same
Success in life in general, and also in football, is determined first and foremost by character, much more than talent. There are thousands of hugely talented people who never make anything of themselves. Which is fine. But people should realize that talent alone means nothing.
He scored some lovely goals, and had decent technique for a big, clumsy-looking guy. However. it's nonsense to say he was never discovered. He played nearly five years in Serie A, from the age of 23 to 28 (in other words at his peak) and scored just 12 goals from 90 appearances, between Chievo and Bologna. He was a moderate Serie A centre-forward who just had a habit of scoring the odd cracking goal.
Thank you for making this video, you fullfilled to pay respect to one of the most talented italian players to play this game in Italy. The ones who saw him play can actually tell you he was really special ❤
Where I grew up we had several talented kids, some of them even got casted by big teams but taking trains/buses to the training facility almost daily after school and missing out on childhood and teenage years?! All of them eventually decided to be kids and teens again. Yes, they might've missed out big time but know this - what kind of childhood do you want your kids to have even though they can benefit in the future?! A life is meaningless if you barely have memories and memories from childhood and the teenage years are the most vivid ones.

Look for Vasilis Hatzipanagis, he was called the greek maradona he was super good but only known by greeks and Argentinians he was incredible, do some research in him
He’s good. I read about him years ago. But there is a difference doing it in lower leagues of football tree and the top. Plenty of excellent players who never made it into the professional leagues. Brazil Ronaldo won under 17 World Cup. Only Ronaldo made it and he has said in an interview that he wasn’t even the most skilful or best player on the team. There must be a reason so many clubs didn’t see something in him. Lack of motivation, , lack of effort lack of determination, not listening to coaches, etc etc.
If Messi or anyone of his talent, would have played for those teams... they would have made 100 goals every 25 matches..... It is important to respect the legends.
I always knew there has to be players better than Cristiano or Messi, but they didnt have the luck to reach a good team and good sponsors. There is so many talented people in the world that we cant notice. And this is one of them
Perhaps he is the best of all, but the difficult thing is to prove it in demanding competitions, with games exhausting every 3 days, the newspapers criticizing you for everything, and staying strong despite not seeing your family for days and even months. Playing well under all that is difficult. And that's why Cr7, Messi, among others, may have a lower level, but doing well for almost two decades makes them outstanding. He chose to have fun playing soccer, that's fine and respectable. But it is precisely there, in the most competitive football where you show how good you are. And that is why there have been and will be hundreds of Moscardellis, but they were not able to maintain and demonstrate their level under the conditions of first-class football and that constant pressure that destroy many players carreers.
Story of my life. I was R9 with the run throughs and messi at close quarters that defended like puyol. Here I am closing in on 40 and wondering what could have been. But it’s ok, my family is healthy and happy and the bills are paid. Toast to another chance in another life maybe

Literally searched for him about a year, which i have seen his compilation years ago. Thank you for making a video about him
Same here I couldn't remember his name
Moscardelli’s ball touch was amazing. Watching the video, I can tell, he was born with a super natural talent, that even the greatest coaches can’t help players achieve. What an incredible player.
obligatory "your moms ball touch is amazing too"
My apologies, it had to be done.
a) he wasnt able to convince during his youth b) he wasnt willing to get out of his comfort zone to succeed c) he wasnt stategic in his career approach.
d) he's happy with his decision
Ikr like let's be real
learn to spell
Yeah he was probably a late bloomer. Not the typical player who is good as a younging
Still achieved more than what you could achive in your entire Life in 20 years. 😂
I remember this guy from FIFA and people saying he is very talented. Lee Trundle is also a similar player from England.

Is in fifa ; old fifa ?
Great video bro
Wow! Ur videos are great and ty for finally making a video about a forgotten Italian footballer, Davide! I still remember watching him in early 2000s and how he scored amazingly. He deserved better!!!
I appreciate the time you took to put this story together. Enjoyed every minute.
😂😂😂
I’ve been begging you for months in the comments to make a video about him, thanks for making me happy :)
Goosebumps! What a beautiful story/video and ending statement! Thank you! :)
Love your dedication bro, it's for the first time I hear about this guy.
Really
Because he was NOT a good player
There is a similar story in Argentina. This guy was called Tomás Carlovich, "El Trinche". He was born in Rosario, like Messi, and it is said to be one of the most talented players ever here, which is a lot to say from a place where Distefano, Maradona and Messi were born. If you want to dig more, there is a lot of info and I'll be glad to translate it from Spanish if needed.
i think every country has their own great players that never made it through
@@milliondollarartobviously. There are milions of people trying to become top footballers, and what it takes is not just talent. A lot of variables create hundreds of stories similar to this one
fantastic
When maradona writes "to trinche, the one who is greater than me" you know the guy was the real deal tho
Beautiful 😢 ....why didn't roma sign him even for a single season his passion alone would have been enough
Because he wasn’t good enough

This is a great story. I’m glad he got to live his dream and play in series a. I bet there’s not many people who’ve experienced a better feeling then he felt that day… and to add to it he put one in the net.
wow mate...you gave me the goosebumps. I actually followed his career as he was a dear friend of a cousin...he has always been a rough diamond of a player.
Great vid as always. You should do one on Paddy McCourt, an extremely talented Irish player who, for some reason, never made it at the top.
Cause he was shite.
This is a great shout, incredibly talented player.
Remember him going to Celtic but not quite making it. Lubo moravcik would be another one... Think Zidane mentioned him as the best player he has ever seen
The Derry Pele, could've had a much better career but just didn't apply himself!!
That was another beautiful dose of football mystery.
Very interesting, thanks for the insight.
So the Italians never seen him as Italian, and he never saw himself as anything else. The nationalism was the same on both sides, I'd say both sides were wrong.
what a weird comment
Just like your m-
@@ez4joniy125 what is?
His beard alone could be in the running for the Ballon D'Or.
There is more than talent to professional football, especially world class level. He probably just didnt have what it takes.
his facial hair alone can beat everyone at the Balon d'Or award.
The kid was that good. when Messi popped up and I saw him play I was like meh I've seen better.
i am a Pisa fan and here we love him, for us he's a legend
Dude your content is so friggin good. Thank you for all the work everyone does on this channel.
Unfortunately sometimes when you don’t have connections, talent alone isn’t enough 💔
I've been following Serie A for 40 years. I've lived in the UK, France, Italy and Dubai. I have very detailed football knowledge and can say he's one of the most talented players I've ever seen. Phenomenal natural ability.
That ending gave me a tear. You Master! The way you wrapped that up.
There’s been talk for that for years, Russell Brand was linked to the role last time I heard about the movie.
He was fantastic.
bro he wasnt that fat😂
@@dripofu Not trying to be harsh, but he was a bit tubby for a pro footballer.
Inflation isn't the only way money has changed since then
The fees being paid for players has inflated way beyond the inflation of currency
Try again when you're capable of reading well Davie
My post saying 30m was from memory, the actual amount would have been 20m in 2005.
Outstanding video amigo! Wow what a story!
Great work! i discover him on a compilation video and still amazed by his story. Thank you for making a video of him 🤗
I'd found this lower league legend in the past but could not for the life of me remember his name to see him again. Thank you for this video I won't forget him now ;) Great research and great content as always my friend. Keep up the wonderful work, as always!
It breaks my heart
Jesus with a ball deciding to do good things again ..
Imagine Mexican football with less corruption. They could be World Cup winners.
@@jacobonataghogho1430 Yes, I will never forget him. Even the most arrogant ant best players in my city blushed and lowered their heads when speaking about him... Every single one agreed he was just unbelievable and unreachable.
@@spinyslasher6586 Yeah... It could. However it's all business, having friends and connections and even charging ridiculous money to upcoming players to play and be seen by talent hunters. There's so much money involved that talent was left behind and now we are stuck with mediocre players that only care about money.
This man is phenomenal.i heard of him years ago n been a fan since
As someone who pursued the football player career as a mid teen there are talented players that nobody will ever see because of injuries.

Got shot in an accident and was never the same
I'm new to the channel, but this one is simply a masterpiece
What a great video!!!
Please do Fernando Redondo next
Success in life in general, and also in football, is determined first and foremost by character, much more than talent. There are thousands of hugely talented people who never make anything of themselves. Which is fine. But people should realize that talent alone means nothing.
I thought it was totti and you photoshopped a beird on him😅. Great video. Great Guy❤
Then could you say the same for Roberto Baggio?
@@mahdikhandaker2510 Umm, no. Roberto Baggio - 18 seasons in Serie A, playing for 7 clubs, played 488 games. Baggio scored 218 goals.

Moscardelli 🐐👑
Where I grew up we had several talented kids, some of them even got casted by big teams but taking trains/buses to the training facility almost daily after school and missing out on childhood and teenage years?! All of them eventually decided to be kids and teens again. Yes, they might've missed out big time but know this - what kind of childhood do you want your kids to have even though they can benefit in the future?! A life is meaningless if you barely have memories and memories from childhood and the teenage years are the most vivid ones.
‼️He was definitively the best !
He did never train , was drinking occasionally and nevertheless one games out of nowhere .
The teams scared him !
He was a phenomenon!!❤

The most important thing to evaluate a player is the facing level. How we can say a player is among the best if he never played against the best?
Roma should've signed him early in his career he would've give Roma everything like Totti.
Moscadelli, too good for the Balon D'or...

He was considered to be better than Blokin when both were in the Soviet Union.
I'm Argentinian and never heard of him.
I love this video, Moscardelli is a legend!
Brazil did not qualify for the 1993 U17 world cup when Ronaldo played for that team
If Messi or anyone of his talent, would have played for those teams... they would have made 100 goals every 25 matches..... It is important to respect the legends.
No because the rest of the team wouldn't be able to support them. It's why top players need a top team to give their best.
Damn thats rough man
Your storytelling is amazing!
I always knew there has to be players better than Cristiano or Messi, but they didnt have the luck to reach a good team and good sponsors. There is so many talented people in the world that we cant notice. And this is one of them
The real GOAT!
Even the beard is GOATED..
Dude looks like a model...scoring on and off the pitch
I saw a video 6 years ago about this player and this year I was frustrated that I can't remember his name. so.... Thanks UA-cam algorithm
That’s a reality for a lot of us. There’s other paths in life but if you have time still give it everything you got💯
Story of my life. I was R9 with the run throughs and messi at close quarters that defended like puyol. Here I am closing in on 40 and wondering what could have been. But it’s ok, my family is healthy and happy and the bills are paid. Toast to another chance in another life maybe
