Lol yes I was hella confused for a sec
I bet if Iwata was still with us, he would actually fix the joy con drift.
Oh, Iwata would be upset at Nintendo being so careless...
Nintendo can't alter their design during a lawsuit
@@redwidow1358 I bet they could
@@user-el1nv9hd1l Yeah, go ahead and take your bet and go home lol if they alter the design during a lawsuit the judge can only assume they're guilty. This is a problem because they're being sued for planned obsolescence, implying that they knew before they sold them that Joy-Cons had a faulty design, and chose to sell them with the intent to make customers buy more of them. The more likely scenario is they just didn't find the issue in testing because the sticks have varying levels of vulnerability to the issue, and the ones they tested probably lasted and worked just fine.
@@redwidow1358 well now they certainly know they have issues...and I feel like now they know that customers will have to send them in to get repaired
i'm so glad they're getting sued over the joy cons. I love Nintendo games, but the way they've handled this problem is so unbelievably scummy, they deserve every ounce of criticism they're getting. I wonder how Iwata would've adressed this
Probably do something to actually fix it
"Please understand"
@@voltkid5193 yeah i think he would have fixed it similarly like how they fixd the wii mote issue by making the big jacket. im surprised they didnt mass recall the controllers and just replace them or something of that nature at this point cause the joycons problem is a complete joke.

Becuase it's not controversial. It's Nintendo protecting their IP from unlicenced abuse, which is the correct thing to do and within their legal rights. They should be commended for doing it. They're doing the right thing.
@@the-NightStar So how do you feel when Sega, Square Enix, and more do it? Most important, was Pokemon Uranium ever going to be sold for profit?

I’ll never forget the day that my Wii fit game called me a “ sorry pile of bones” it told me to eat some food and then questioned if my I had enough money to eat or if I’m just a broke loser. That day changed my life and I’ve never looked at a scale again. #WTHnintendo
Top 10 things that didn’t happen, number 1:
lol
Tbf, any somewhat adult person taking this shit seriously needs to be cheked
People: Wii Fit called me fat
Nintendo: we're sorry... that you're fat
Yea... BMI is a massively flawed system. By BMI measurements, incredibly fit body-builders get commonly classified as "morbidly obese" purely because of the lack of accounting for muscle mass (which weighs more than fat). It really isn't a system that should be used even as a guide anymore, since we now have the ability to measure muscle mass with a decent degree of accuracy on relatively affordable consumer-grade scales.
I always thought it was funny people got so offended over this and wanted to sue Nintendo. "Here is your BMI: ### Obese" Customer: "NINTENDO CALLED ME A FUCKING WORTHLESS FAT ASS I'M NOT FAT!!!!!!!!"
It is funny for anyone that does weight lifting though. A while back I decided to just work hard on weight loss. I got down to 7% bodyfat and was still "overweight," per BMI. It's a silly thing..... Though I feel like most adults that are "obese" probably do need to be careful, as the bigger more muscular people are not really the norm.
Still found it hilarious people were so horribly offended by Nintendo literally just giving them a BMI chart though.
Yup, I'm 180 cm tall, and just half a year ago my weight was under 80 kg. Which means normal weight. Then I started working out again, and gained over 5 kg of muscle mass. Now I'm considered 'overweight' by BMI standards. It makes no sense.
@the hevy to be fair most people in America that are "obese" probably aren't muscular and probably could indeed stand to lose 10-15lbs.
BMI is a not great system though.
The best way to apologise is to just keep talking until the person you were apologising too loses track of what you are even saying.
5:53 assuming that Miitopia is part of this franchise, they kept their promise.
Ooh in what way? I never played miitopia
I don't think Miitopia can be called a part of Tomodachi series, they are completely different games.
@@shn4449 I feel like they're pretty similar in the sense that you can put any mii into them and see what ensues, but I can understand why you don't agree.
I don't really console Miitopia as a sequel. I love both and I miss Miitopia but Miitopia was more like a side social media like Line but with questions that you and friends answer for fun

I had the problem where the game was telling me I was very underweight and that I shouldn't be playing it at all.
Dont remember the exact wording but it was basically that . I'm 5 foot 1 and part of my family is Naturally thin until around age 30
It’s BMI so it’s bull shit no matter what
@@aubreyh1930 For people that don't have a lot of muscle mass (which is nearly everybody), it works just fine (if you factor in age as any decent BMI calculating tool does). It's just that many people don't like the results they get ;)
@@Christopher-md7tf no, it’s a bad system that doesn’t account at all for muscle weight. Just say you body shame and quit wasting my time
@@aubreyh1930 "It works in the vast majority of people, the vast majority of time," says Prof Naveed Sattar, from the University of Glasgow.
"If two people are the same height and one has a BMI of 25 and the other a BMI of 40, then excess body fat is the reason."
[...]
"Muscle is much denser than fat so they may end up with a BMI that classes them as obese, despite the fact they may be fit and healthy."
*But this is thought to apply to fewer than 1% of the population. Most people aren't extreme athletes.* [emphasis mine]
Tim Cole, professor of medical statistics, at University College London Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, said BMI was "still extremely relevant".
"You don't see many bodybuilders around but you do see lots of people with large waists. Many people get exercised about that wrongly."

Joy Con drift is such a bad look for them. It's goes against everything they did in the past to make sure there hardware was damn near indestructible. I still have N64, Gamecube, and Wii U controller that still work perfectly. If there is some big Switch revision I hope that it includes changes to the Joy Cons.
Wii U gamepads totally drift sadly. I had my right analog stick drifting while my left one was still good after around 7 years of me using it very often
@@noname-jp9nj Well no surprise I think they use the same sticks as the pro controller if I am not mistaken and those drift as well.

There was a station set up with some Wii fit boards for a competition, and I waited with a few friends to participate.
When I got to the Wii Fit board it immediately told me that I was too large for the board.

I personally was a teenager when AC was on the GameCube and even I thought it was the first entry until not that long ago!
We are never going to get the sequel for Tomodachi sadly , are we?
Since the Mii and everything around them is sadly no longer present anymore. Only at the Switch settings but to be honest who actually go to settings for Mii?
Tomodachi Life worked so well on 3DS because the hardware had just the right amount of tools for content creation and sharing. The cameras for QR scanning, Mii making, and those minigames that interfaced with the inner camera, StreetPass for sharing your island’s Miis, and the touch screen that was accessible at all times
@@Poever true but we also haven't had any type of games that involve with the Mii anymore like we did with the Wii, Wii U and 3DS :/
To add to the Wii Fit BMI issue, in medical school BMI isn't even taught anymore. It's roughly gone over and the calculation is briefly explained, but it's being phased out of practice. I'm saying this as I went to nursing school 2 years ago and it was a half-page in a chapter and that was it. Companies need to start moving away from BMI as it's such an inaccurate way to calculate people's weight based off of an average or median.

The joy con drift being the fault of the manufacturers reminds me of how Apple iPhones are meant to only last a certain amount of years and then the batteries die by design,,, damn :///
I like to pretend that they just picked up a guy off the street named Greg to narrate
My Switch's controllers had drift issues. Nintendo fixed them at no cost to me. I just had to file a ticket, print the shipping label the sent me, and send them off. Granted, for a week & a half, it was nothing more than a UA-cam touch system, but I survived.
This guy gets it.
Nintendo during Wii U era: we want to satisfy our customers
Nintendo now: Joy-con drift doesn't exist, now buy our 60$ Wii U ports
Nintendo didn't actually claim drift doesn't exist.
also now Sony: now games will cost 70$
The joy con drift thing is bogus for multiple reasons. One being that Nintendo literally acknowledged it. There’s no way they’re stupid enough to think that we wouldn’t realize that they mentioned it. If they did say that, then why wouldn’t the people suing use that in they’re argument. I really think that the person/people who said that really meant that Nintendo was acting like it never existed.

No. "Solidly built" specifically means muscular. Muscle, especially when flexed, feels hard while fatty areas feel soft.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio then he should’ve just said “muscular” saying “solidly built” sounds more like trying to call someone fats without saying it
No, really no. "Solidly built" could be a euphemism for body building or athletic. Also, if you watched the video you'd see how very muscular people can show up as "obese" on a BMI. The BMI system is not well suited to gauge the health of very athletic or muscular people.
And for the record, even if we were to take BMI's as gospel, the fucking Wii hardware is not well suited to give an accurate reading of someone's BMI.

I mean, it still doesn't excuse them pretending it doesn't exist.
What's kinda crazy is you can also get Gamepad drift on the Wii U Controller, I'm guessing Wii U's just didn't get played enough for enough people to notice XD
Even if we take the whole BMI thing for granted, the Wii fit is actually pretty garbage at taking your BMI. If you want accurate testing on this sort of thing, unfortunately you'll have to go to some sort of medical professional.

I don't think there was anything as malicious as planned obsolescence with the joy-con; if that french suit can get Nintendo to make a version of joy-con immune to drifting that'd be great
tbh, the joycons are replacable.. so that is an option.
Also you can increase the joycons deadzone via a pc program to reduce drift...
I think Nintendo hopes that too lol. If its a problem people are constantly complaining about and they have tp send out all these free joy cons or spend time and money repairing them, its in their interest to fix the issue. The fact that they havent tells me its not as simple as wed all like it to be.
Joy-Con Drift isn't a real issue and it's hardly even a big deal.

The joycon failure is seriously the biggest reason I cant advice anyone to buy a switch. I've bought several joycons and all of them have started to drift within weeks. And they are SO expensive. He has his priorities straight
He's wrong and an idiot. Joy-Con Drift is bullshit. It's hardly even real and it's not even a big deal. Doesn't matter. Never did. Stop blaming the controller if you suck at playing,
@@the-NightStar Its real, looks like you never experienced it on a JOY CON
@@the-NightStar dude do you even own a Switch? My switch decides to drift for no reason. I never dropped it yet it still makes my cursor move right by itself.
@@lolcatzidk Even though my Joy-Cons haven't drifted yet (I've had my Switch for almost 6 months now), I've seen video evidence on UA-cam about Joy-Con drift being a thing.

"oh no nintendo made a typo? BURN THEM AT THE STAKE!!!"
Look at this dude
3/4 of my joy cons had drift. sent all 4 back out of warranty and got free replacements.
Now one has drift :/
Joy Con Drift is not a real thing and it's your excuse for sucking.
That's hillarious. I took great care with my replacements and left them in a dust proof case. As well as washed my hands before use. One still got drift
@@the-NightStar The hell is your problem nightstar?
A month later, and now you guys have a lot more to cover in this subject.
I don't know a single person who doesn't use profanity in their animal crossing catchphrases
