I had the Sequencer. On saturday I saw this Video. Since some Hours i got the plaits Module. It Takes my empty rack to Another Level. Thanks so much. I would like to see some content with these both Modules and the Model D. Cause i also got it.
Great thanks. I was looking for a fun performance sequencer. I love Plaits, have been sequencing with a TM and a Quantzer. But this seems a bit more controllable. Gona get one ordered, just need to build another case!
Sounds great. I got the brains and almost got the sequencer but it takes up so much space. I am building my own 8 step voltage sequencer atm while also using the Korg s64 external. Is there a way to mute a step?
Do you mean, have a silent step ? - A rest ? - Yes, but you need to use the sequential switch 962 and patch it so it switches from the 1st switch to its 2nd switch at the moment of your required rest, then back to the 1st rest again. It's tricky and isn't entirely silent as the decay of the previous step (generated by the VCA) can overlap into the rest step. I'm trying to find a better way of doing it.
@@and7barton Cheers a lot of hp to get there though which won't work with muh 2 x 84hp setup. Shame with Berhinger having some great stuff but takes up so much space. Love the mixer and output module but then I habe this whole eq section I could do without. I just got their Maths clone and Space FX. Just perfect for what I needed.
@@EarJuice the magic of Modular’s is the fact you can tailor-make your system any way you like. I’ve got three 960s now, and six 112 dual VCOs (12 oscillators). Also, three clock modules so I can drive the 960s separately if wanted, or in sync from one clock. This is the third modular I’ve put together. The first two were orientated towards music …. Mostly Berlin style. This one is more of a “sound laboratory” for exploring sounds, though it still could be used for making music …. Plus the sheer coolness of owning an impressive modular.
How about Behringers "Brains" - is that equally dreamy? Also do you have, or are you considering the Behringer system 55 now that it's around 1500 quid? That's cheaper than many individual Mewg modules!
Just can’t get past the phallic channel name. But it would be worth it if there were a reliable way to clock the device. I get that the oddly-named control voltage input is actually supposed to take a clock input, but in my experience that sometimes works and sometimes not.
Hi i am new to eurorack and a little lost , i get the plaits is generating the sound and the 960 the sequence but on another video i seen if the 960 the guy was tuning the 960 ? Why would you tune it if its only generating a sequence and do you have to keep tuning it? Sorry if its a dumb question, love your video and channel. Thanks
The 960 is the tuning of another module. It sends CV signal in this case it goes to a pitch input or 1v/oct. input on plaits. With another row you make a gate out to trigger the plaits. But this works not with every step of the 8 steps. But that’s another topic. But to make a sequence with pitch and Gate it is enough. So the 3 rows of 8 steps generate a voltage what can used different on other kind of modules. So it is on you. For eh you can use the third row to send cv to the model in on Plaits. Then this cv changes the engine on plaits which you can see in my video.

I still do not understand how the kickdrum or any other device is in sync with the 960. There is no gate output, and no 960 input is used. I am lost here, where any module plays his own song/tempo. :D
Well, you need a clock distribution system in your rack. But it’s easy. The 960 is just normal syncable. Hey it’s a sequencer. That’s a must have. And if you have another sequencer like for drums than you have synced beat and instruments.
Sorry for the numpty question. I can see what ur doing with the plaits module but just checking the first red tip top audio cable you introduce... Is that from ur clock?
how did you connect the kick from the rd-8? can you feed the audio out directly into the sequencer? and if yes, can you still change the pitch witht he cv pots? :D nice video though
The kick has nothing to do with the other Audio signals. There are many other modules involved like mixer and sidechain conpressor. So its totally a full setup in my rack.
I don‘t have a 182 but hey it’s so easy to combination the two modules. Plaits is always a good friend of any sequencer if you use the model IN with a CV Pattern
@@spoookytooth There's a version of the DRM III that has cv triggers for each drum voice. A lot of people use the individual cv outs on the drum sequencer of the Beatstep Pro with it, too.

I thought the 960‘s gates need a converter module to work with other modules that are not from that Behringer lineup …. Or am I mixing things up?
Yes that’s correct. But it works if you leave one step without any gate.
