      they are wonderful little pieces let me assure you - modular is funny though, it fills up fast and is very tempting to continue, so good advice is to be strict - pick the modules you want, pick the case and settle :-) or don't and accept the servitude like many of us hahahaaaa

      Not having that red module prevents me from understanding that part of the video

    • @Chekmate99
      @Chekmate99 2 роки тому +4

      @@francoisrousseau7893 my understanding is that the red module is providing a LFO to the sequencer (third row of knobs) that defines a maximum speed of the ratchet - the third row of knobs act as an attenuator (slowing down or speeding up the effect of the LFO) for each step controlling how fast or how many pulses (ratchets) are used for that particular step. the red module also sends a square wave to the envelope generator (that shapes the vca) to provide a short envelope generator effect to the vca (otherwise the sound would be sustained, similar to a drone with pulses that bleed into the next pulse/step). more modern sequencers like the have this feature built into it but older ones from the 1970’s required external lfo’s or clock dividers - there are many youtube videos that explain this better.

Is that strictly enough to get the 70ies era Tangerine Dream sound (which is what I'm after), or do I need more modules? • @SynthManiaDotCom
      @SynthManiaDotCom  Рік тому +1

      The 960 is a sequencer. You keep the other source/oscillator at the same tune, and change each position of the knobs on the 960 so you can send different voltages (and thus, different pitch/note) from the 960 to the oscillator(s) you're using with it.
