Hi everyone! If you enjoy the series and want to play along then I did leave the map seed in the description BUT I am told that this is now no longer giving exactly the same map, likely due to some back end code changes that Klei quietly made. If you do want to play along on the exact map then I do have a starting save (with different dupes) for this exact map which I can share through discord. If you want to play that, then pop on over to discord.gg/bnqYAUTMmn
Good to have my fav fungi based man to play on my second monitor again. Looking forward to you surpassing my own frosty colony within the first episode.
I haven't played much of the DLC yet since I'm still a new player, but from what I've seen I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity by Klei not to add cyrovolcanos (like the ones found on Pluto, Enceladus and the other moons of the gas giants) as a new type of geyser which emit different icy material to this new asteroid, as well as adding them if you have frozen core as a world trait in the frozen biome at the bottom.
I just want you to know that your tutorials are amazing. As far as I am concerned, you are the go-to source for anything ONI related. Thank you! As a side note, why not use the sink queue mod? Is it one of those things where it doesn't feel like you are playing the game as intended?
Random thank you for uploading these streams to UA-cam 🙏👏 the tutorial bites are so good but for me seeing them be implemented truly has been the missing piece. Never made it past 200 mostly just from chronic resetting and not knowing what to do for sustainability since finding your channel I’ve kept in mind you’re advice to not restart until there’s an actual breakdown of something.. on day 550 , everything looking good still 😤 Almost done with first ever petroleum boiler and have gotten 4 brand new achievements for me \o/ Now I’m just conscious of what a mess I’ve made of the plumbing and power lines lol 😂
One fun thing I did in spaced out, is shipping magma towards the regolith planet from another one using rocket, them making a regolith melter on the regolith planet. This can be a goal for an "everything" base
I have been away from my computer for a while. I tried the new DLC, loved it, but found it hard to get locavore since I kept running out of O2. Thank you for playing this, I will try your solution.
It can but it's likely that the first few bottles of water will freeze again before you get enough for the tepidizer to function. And don't make the mistake of building the tank out of snow tiles. >.>
Yes it should do, but freezing will be an issue so either control the pipe conductivity or overheat the water. Generally by the time you've researched that and powered it, it may well be quicker to find a warm water geysers and pass that around.
Hi, looking forward to follow you in the series. I've used the same seed, spaced out option, but my map is slightly different. Some geysers are not present or elsvere located, I have many rooms with strange machines and an huge hotel like luxury room on top of the map where the space area begins. Any idea why?
@@GCFungus I've tried to restart many times, but with your seed I get always the same map that is slightly different from yours. For example the geyser you have on the top left of the base is not present, and the huge decorated hotel-like room is directly on top where you have built the rocket. MAYBE it's becouse you started the playthrough while in beta? Dunno, anyways no biggie, i just need to move your amazing designs a bit and I'm following. Keep vids coming, they are amazing!!!!!
I have the same result, as well. Mostly the same, but some features are either not present or slightly different. Even after restarting and triple checking the seed. A major bummer.
I just randomly looked at some. In total not that many, but they geysers seemed relatively similar so in the end I just chose one that looked the best. It's definitely not ideal, but without the seed tool it's hard to do much better.
What about Moonlet? I only got Spaced Out. Started on Metallic Swamp. No clue what is going on. I don't understand any of the new stuff or how to deal with all the pollution.
I don't think I've done a swamp start on stream as I find them a bit annoying to be honest. As long as you have the sublimation station you can get polluted oxygen early on. To get normal oxygen you need to deodorize it with sand or set up a SPOM with electrolyzers.
@@GCFungus OK thank you. That makes sense. Yes I think it's probably better in general to start on Terrania. So I am back on that. Although, it would probably have been more interesting to see than Frosty. Not that there's anything wrong. Just that most users don't own Frosty.
@@eggyboi3524 You fail Locavore for the rest of the playthrough if you plant so much as one seed into a planter box, farm tile or hydroponic tile, even if that seed isn't for food. Building/deconstructing them aren't checked, only planting.
@@eggyboi3524 You're either mistaken or using a cheating mod. The vanilla behaviour is that you fail the challenge when you plant a seed, and once failed you have to start over - that's why it's a challenge. It even correctly detects modded planter box, farm tile, and hydroponic tile variants and fails you if you plant in them. The other two behaviour restriction challenges, Carnivore and Super Sustainable, work the same way.
You likely already figured this out, but if you turn the meat from hunted wild bammoths into pemmican, you only need 11 Bammoths. However, you will also need to kill 4 wild Spigot Seals for the 154kg of Tallow needed.
I am doing fairly well foodwise. Oxygen is still a delicate balance between having enough and not enough. The Alveos help a lot but the oxylite can overpressure if there's too much CO2 on top of it. Happened to me and I built an infinite gas storage just for CO2 to keep CO2 to a serviceable amount. My next problem is heating up my base without cooking my farms and stables. My Floxes are keeping me afloat but for how long?
Yes I think an insulated base area is necessary here, for the opposite reasons to a normal game. Active cooling is likely needed for mid to late game, but you can delay that with careful building.
Comment on your mouse wheel: is the plastic 'ring' on it loose? ive had that happen a lot in various cheaper mice where the wheel is fine but the thing im spinning isnt attached to the actual mouse wheel so it doesnt work.
You don t need 4 toilettes when you put your dupes on different schedules. Efficiency is key. You re not on hard mode, I believe you ll succede. Good luck!! May the odd be in your favor
I guess it's just habit, but making 3 toilets and sinks is usually easily doable anyway, and I'll want more dupes on each schedule. On the frosty start though it's more tricky, so may well be worth going the schedule route.
They still get food poisoning. On my first playthrough with this new map and my dupes are constantly getting sick since there's no water to clean themselves.
I was turning off the disinfect on the toilets and sinks as it literally does nothing but water time. As for the sinks I think they're still necessary as dupes have dirty hands so if they pick up food then it will immediately get germs on it.
Oxylite doesn't lose any oxygen production whether you dig it or not. Even though the mined out oxylite loses half the mass, it fully offgases but the natural oxylite only offgases to 50% anyway so they are equal.

Ony was very quick to fix DGSM for the DLC, as well as all her other mods. You should be able to use all of them now without issues.

I just don't think the sink queue is really necessary, I can just match the number of toilets to sinks.

That is odd because the same seed should generate exactly the same map, so I'm not sure how that could happen.

Not not seen anything like that so far!
why is your wood storage full and when I start theirs nothing in it?
Not sure, but I definitely think it should be full since you need it to build early buildings.
