I’m glad you covered this. I just found this video today. I’m 57 years old and finished my Invisalign journey about 9 years ago. I do use the Invisalign night retainers every night or my teeth will move. I’ve decided to try and start playing my clarinet again and I felt the pressure on my 2 front teeth and wondered if it would affect my teeth. This being said I haven’t played since the age of 14. Today was the first time and wow I loved it but I’m worried about my teeth shifting. Be aware that you will need to wear a retainer nightly for the rest of your life. That was one thing I was in shock about at the end of my treatment. I do it religiously even for stays in the hospital. I’m serious about it.
Thanks for the heads up about the retainer! Yeah, I’m not sure what to do after my treatment is finished. I might try playing clarinet with the retainer in so my teeth don’t move? I’ll definitely report back what I plan to do moving forward. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I have a visalign, but I didn’t think it could be used while playing the clarinet. Maybe it’s because I bite a lot that my upper teeth are always pressing very hard against the mouthpiece, so I have thought I will have stop playing altogether. Being an amateur, it makes no sense to ruin the teeth. Moreover, I am 70, which may do damage quicker than for the young ones. So this video made me very happy, because I really love playing this beautiful instrument.
Oh great! Yeah, it took me a little while to get used to playing with the aligners in, but now I barely notice them. I’m glad you can get back into playing clarinet! Take care!
Thank you very much for your work !!! 🎼🎶🎵🎄❄❄❄❄🐾🐕🐾
