Type I diabetes is an autoimmune disease and once you graft the new cells they work temporarily until the immune system kills them. That's what caused the diabetes in the first place.
40 years type 1 diabetic here.... Immunologist. This possible therapy was put forward in the early 90s. Recently in the US a company has develop engineered cells which, when implanted can keep a patient diabetic free for 6 month. Didn't hear of it after that. US startups have been working on it for a while now... Maybe not so good for business... Now I'll go to China if I can be cured after 1 injection because the US would most likely ban it. It's published work so I look forward to it. Although diabetes has a functional medicine i.e insulin it is a difficult disease to manage between the low/high and the cost of supplies here in the US. The antibody therapy recently approved by the FDA only delays the diabetes onset, and as such, antibody therapies cost a fortune. Most likely an immunotherapy with a myriad of possible side effects with the disease eventually kicking in sooner or later. Because T1 diabetes is an immune response to the pancreatic cells that produce insulin, this may also occur with the Chinese insulin producing cells. But the good side is that these engineered cells come from the the patient own blood cells. Let's wait and see... but hope for diabetic seems to be coming from the east where they may be more inclined toward the well being of their people...

My Father was cured of severe diabetes in 1946 by a German doctor in Canada. He gave high voltage electric shocks to the pancreas. Three months of treatment and he lived diabetes free for another 69 years, ate everything he wanted.
Well if that is true, it means his Pancreas still had some ability to produce insulin, which was very lucky. This China News is not a cure as it first seems, it is helpful to Type2, which can sometimes be reversed in appropriate patients, whose pancreas still has potential to produce insulin.
@@charliea1662Actually, it may be a cure, especially for type 1 diabetes. The strategy mentioned here has been discussed and researched for over thirty years. The challenge the West faces is medical publications being blocked when they negatively affect the profits of the pharmaceutical industry. The likelihood of that information ever successfully being published by a medical journal in the West, even as a single case study, is nearly impossible.

There's commenter from China saying he hasn't heard anything about this from their media either.
@@francois853 China and USA is collaborating to hide this
That's maybe because you're in China
Most likely no real proof it did anything and not worthy news whom ever they said they cured most likely wasn't even a diabetic I call BS on this entire thing.
That's because the US knows this treatment doesn't work. Plenty of US labs already tried this protocol and it's only a temporary fix. Diabetes type I is an autoimmune disease. Once the new cells are transplanted the immune system kills them after a certain period of time.
This is absolutely remarkable from, myself being as diabetic for 12 years and being put on insulin since December, hope we diabetics get a chance of this therapy to lead a normal life!!! Well done!!!!!
Sorry but this news piece is completely misleading. The US has already done research on the protocol for years, and it only works temporarily.
Type I diabetes is an autoimmune disease. Transplanting the beta cells works for a little while but the immune system ultimately attacks and kills the new cells leading the patient back to being a diabetic.
This is a big national security threat to big pharmaceuticals.
Biden will say, that China copied from USA, even though USA scientist has no idea how it is done.

Last time they said they have the cure for covid, and then we see what happened.
Patients want this but doctors don't
Like the Coronavirus it will be free for the world.
Most probably it's not true. But if it is, then US pharma will try everything to block it. Because for them people health is not important, for them making money by selling them is important.
hey biswas (cow sh!t) the word biswas and we know where you are from, only have cow sh!t.
American public will lose out but the rest of the world can proceed and use it. No need to get their permission nor obey them.

It's actually not true unfortunately. This protocol has been tried for years. The immune system kills the new cells so the benefits are temporary at best.
Even if it works you would need to fix your lifestyle - stop being sedentary & stop eating crap - or else you will be back to square 1 in due course.

Yeah, thanks for showing that this protocol, which has already been used for years, doesn't work.
The reporting should have been more explicit about the subject being Type 1 diabetes.
Should they? As far as I read, he had type 2.
My Father was cured of severe diabetes in 1946 by a German doctor in Canada. He gave high voltage electric shocks to the pancreas. Three months of treatment and he lived diabetes free for another 69 years, ate everything he wanted.
⚡⚡⚡💥
Well if that is true, it means his Pancreas still had some ability to produce insulin, which was very lucky. This China News is not a cure as it first seems, it is helpful to Type2, which can sometimes be reversed in appropriate patients, whose pancreas still has potential to produce insulin.
@@charliea1662false
Your story of shocking a pancreas isn't true that is not how the pancreas works. It's about the beta cells that produces insulin that are dying. SMH
@@charliea1662Actually, it may be a cure, especially for type 1 diabetes. The strategy mentioned here has been discussed and researched for over thirty years. The challenge the West faces is medical publications being blocked when they negatively affect the profits of the pharmaceutical industry. There's even a comment about someone cured of diabetes by a German doctor after world war 2, and who went on to live another 69 years diabetes free. The likelihood of that information ever successfully being published by a medical journal in the West, even as a single case study, is nearly impossible.
Proud moment for humanity

I agree with @jelmerwalsh8973.
To the statement made about having internet. It's the reporter due diligence to confirm the accuracy of the information and not just carry water for any nation.
I personally don't believe that China solve the diabetes issue, but more likely, they will start testing on their general population.
@@josenieves1230 Well, I suppose, if you just want to be fed information pleasing to your ear, expecting others to confirm your biases is a valid point.

Either way, your clearly jaundiced view of this country and its capabilities is is blatantly obvious. Which suggests you won't bother educating yourself. Cheers.
This protocol doesn't work and that's why there is no cited information. This method is not new and has been used for years in research. Since type I diabetes is an autoimmune disease the new cells are eventually attacked and destroyed by the immune system. This offers temporary benefits at best.

The cure for diabetes is not to eat sugar. And maintain a healthy not diabetic diet.
You are only talking sweets. Sugar comes in many forms- fructose, lactose and glucose which come from carbs. Eating vegetables is a practice to avoid that illness.
Exactly!
Lifestyle changes!
it's more than that plus Type 1 is an autoimmune disease not caused by sugar
